Hi guys it's mark, so let me start off by saying this. If you'd have asked me a few years ago about cryptocurrency, then i would have probably just thought it was a waste of time. I think lots of people had the same opinion as me, but, as i learned more about why it's so valuable and also the technology behind it, i've completely changed my mind who said oldies like me, were stuck in the past in one of my previous videos. I invested a hundred dollars into seven different digital coins, so today, one month on, i thought it'd be good to talk through why i made each investment, discuss the profit or loss and also explain how you can invest if you're, just a beginner all after you hit That cheeky, like button for the algorithm, so let's start off with the original and the most well-known cryptocurrency bitcoin.

So it might seem strange after being so against bitcoin and cryptocurrency that i now have over 70 000 worth of bitcoin in my blotfire account. So i'm going to explain a little bit behind my thought process about why it's a good investment opportunity, as i mentioned before, bitcoin is extremely volatile, which could be seen as a risk, but as the market fluctuates so much, it makes it much more interesting. For me, the more i've been investing in bitcoin. I've noticed that it seems to find a support level and then it dips all of a sudden, and that gives me a chance to buy even more bitcoin, has also been adopted on a huge scale, with the likes of paypal now fast, tracking, its rollout and allowing All eligible customers in the us to buy, sell and hold bitcoin the more bitcoin gets accepted by the mainstream financial apps and software, the more it gets ingrained in our society and therefore is unlikely to drop below a certain value.

Something i've noticed when people talk about cryptocurrency, they often refer to it as bitcoin, and the words are interchangeable for a lot of people. I've even caught myself doing it a few times. This is because bitcoin has the first mover advantage as it's the original. This is the same reason why the iphone and the ipad are so successful.

Even once other technologies have caught up, they still have that advantage as people know and trust them. So let's look at the hundred dollars. I invested in bitcoin during my last video, so we've made 32 return in one month, which means we've made a profit of 32.83 so far, and by the time i post this video, it might be even more as bitcoin seems to be having a bit of an Explosion at the moment now that could be down to coinbase going public and all the buzz around that, and that reminds me if you want to pick up ten dollars of free bitcoin, then feel free to use. So i chose to invest in ethereum for a few different reasons. I see it a lot like airbnb and uber. These were both very disruptive to their industries, and ethereum could have the same impact on the way we pay for everything. The ethereum technology actually makes your money smart.

When you exchange your dollar for ethereum, it's almost like it goes into the surgery room just like that, and it comes out with an elon musk chip inside it effectively giving it a brain. I do explain more about this technology and how it works. In my last video, but it's a big reason why i think it's slightly different from bitcoin and therefore isn't a direct competitor, so it should be able to grow independently. I think of it a bit like lewis, hamilton and tiger woods, they're, both brilliant at the sports.

They do but at the same time, they're not competing against each other. I also happen to love both of these sports equally, so i'm just going to put it out there if either youtube guys fancy going head to head give me a ring. The thing that sealed the deal for me is that it's easy to trade and therefore its popularity and valuation is growing, so it was worth investing some money and seeing where it goes. Currently, the hundred dollars i invested in the last video has made 49 return, meaning i have made a profit of 49.9, which is better than the bitcoin investment, even though these returns are absolutely amazing.

Let's kick things off with cardano when i'm looking for a good investment, i don't always just look at the business or in this case the digital coin. I look at the people behind it and, if i believe in them then i'll invest, not everything can be broken down into a spreadsheet.

The team behind cardano looks strong, especially comparing their credentials to other coins. The founder charles hodgkinson was previously involved in the early development of bitcoin and ethereum, which currently occupy the top spots. I've always thought this way since i started my first business, the bank manager that gave me the loan believed in me, and not necessarily in my business plan. I'm also very interested in the fact that businesses seem to be partnering with cardano such as travala.com, who now let their users book travel.

Accommodation using cardano gardano is also not currently available on coinbase, which is one of the most popular places to buy crypto. This therefore makes it harder for people to access. My thinking is when they add it to the platform, the prices should increase as there'll be more demand. My hundred dollar investment is now worth 144.79 in one month, which gives me a return of nearly 45.

These alternative coins may be less popular, but i believe it's important to invest in a few as they have the potential to really explode like in the early days of bitcoin. I used the binance app to purchase this coin, and the process was pretty simple. The next alternative coin is litecoin. This is actually one of the oldest cryptocurrency and it's based on bitcoin's code.

I made this investment as in theory it should be superior to bitcoin. However, it doesn't have that first mover advantage, so i'm not sure that it'll ever catch up, one of the issues with bitcoin is that it takes 10 minutes to make a payment, whereas litecoin is able to process the same transaction in under one second. So, just thinking about this in a practical way, it would be much more convenient to pay for your shopping in litecoin rather than bitcoin, as you wouldn't have to wait at the till for 10 minutes before you can take your shopping away. I'd end up eating all the food at the checkout.

On the other hand, i don't think people see bitcoin as a way for paying for everyday items, it's more of a store of value like gold. I also think that ethereum is a superior way to pay for things because of its smart contract technology. Saying this, i did invest a hundred dollars as a bit of an experiment and that litecoin is now worth 151.96, which is the best return yet of 52. This is another coin that is easily bought through the coinbase app the next investment.

I'm really excited about. It's called chain link. I decided to make this investment, as i personally believe that smart money is where we're going in the future. If that reality becomes true, then chain link will be a crucial part of that journey chain.

Link like the name suggests, acts like a link or even a bridge between the new blockchain technology and the old systems we still use, which aren't going to be going away. Anytime soon think of it a bit like a grandpa trying to talk to a 10 year old kid playing, minecraft they're, almost speaking, entirely different languages, and they sometimes need a bridge between them, so they can understand each other, which is often the kids parents. Of course, i wouldn't have any trouble, because i'm down with the kids, in other words chain link, is crucial to things like smart contracts as without them they wouldn't be able to access information. They need from our existing systems, but mark, surely chain link, isn't the only technology that can bridge the gap between the old and the new.

Yes, i do agree. However, there is a lack of competition and chain link is certainly the market leader at the moment. So, that's why i think it's the best bet. My hundred dollar investment one month ago is now worth 132.81, which means i've made about 33 return.

Now we come to stella, which could be my favorite name of any crypto, because it sounds a lot like one of my favorite films interstellar. My reasoning behind this investment is: there is a gap in the market for a low-cost way to transfer currencies across borders. Just think about it, whenever you have to pay someone in a different country or even change your money, when you go on vacation, someone is always taking a cut off the top. I certainly know that's annoyed me in the past, but stella is extremely cheap and actually could be.

The solution to this issue. They've already built some major relationships with big companies such as ibm and samsung, even after all of this they're, relatively unknown and with an extremely small market cap compared to the big boys like bitcoin and ethereum, it's just an amazing technology. That's been used more and more behind the scenes. My hundred dollar investment is now worth 142.83, which, if you haven't, worked it out yet it's nearly 43 return.

I'm going to hold on to this one and see where it goes in the future, as i still believe it will grow even more in value number, seven polka dot. One of the main reasons i invested in polkadot is because it's a faultless network. No, i'm not saying it just uses chopsticks or something like that. What i mean by faultless is that the community never splits and it never goes down a different path.

This happened in 2017 with bitcoin and led to the creation of bitcoin cash. Then bitcoin cash had the same issue in 2018 when it's split again, it's all a bit of a headache i like how polka dot can improve itself without these hard forks and just upgrades itself seamlessly. I believe this makes it a lot more versatile than a lot of its competition. Think of it like a charmander, eventually evolving, into a charizard without having to be a different pokemon.

My hundred dollar investment is now worth 166.58, so my faith in the dot coin seems well placed at the moment with a 66 return. This is another coin that isn't currently on coinbase, so i use the finance app to invest so, as you can see, my total profit, if i sold today, would be 321, which means i've made 45.8 return without doing anything other than investing and don't think i forgot At the end of my last crypto video, i also invested in one full bitcoin, which, at the time of purchase, was 47 dollars. However, at the time of filming this video, it's now worth over, sixty two thousand dollars. This is a profit of just over fifteen thousand dollars if i sold today, but i'm not going to do that because i want to see it make 100k bitcoin to the moon.
