Stian Walgermo recently uncovered that Valeo are the LIDAR suppliers for Lucid Motors, based on information contained within the S4 filing and a photo of a Lucid air with the prototype LIDAR attached.
Valeo are currently testing Level 4 autonomous technology in Japan at the moment which is a massive step forward, most providers are stuck on level 2 or 3 of the 5 step scale.
The Valeo product cant be blinded by sunlight, fooled by shadows, and is also accurate to 12cm, whereas other offerings like google maps are only accurate to within a few meters.
In terms of the $2tn infrastructure plan, around $100bn of this will go towards new customer rebates (rumoured to increase from $7,500 to $10,000 per vehicle and remove the 200,000 vehicle cap), $15bn for 500,000 new EV charging stations across the US and additional spending for electric school busses, transit vehicles and other incentives.
This is great news for American made EVs such as Tesla and Lucid Motors.
New details about the lucid motors massaging seats and the potential partnership between lucid motors and apple were also releaased.

It is hard to see if it is on the car or a part of the background. But is that little tower thing that rises above the car with a turquoise top thing the Lidar device? And is the dark platform that seems to cover the entire top of the car part of it also? So then that would have to be a part of the car permanently? This is never seen in the demos or the stock photos or the ad that is broadcast of the car being driven. If so, it is extremely unattractive and bulky. In contrast, for example, the Luminar Lidar is alike a little 2" tall 12" square thin box that is embedded in/under the hood.
What is the market value of LCID after merge based on the correct CCIV price of 23?π§
Probably they are talking because of Apple-Car integration. I doubt that apple is going to buy Lucid. It would be awesome but i really doubt that. But as a thought experiment what do you think lucid shares would be if Apple bought them?
