In this video I explain whether the Stock Market going to CRASH Again in 2020, whether we're going to see an even worse fall than we saw in February/March, or whether it will continue to rise.
Background information - 00:00 - 01:19
The S&P 500 has recently fallen about 33% which is bigger than the stock market crash of 2008 which was about 27%. The market has been recovering since March and has regained about half of that loss.
Why is the stock market even rising? - 01:19 - 03:20
The stock market is recovering based on positive news, such as unemployment figures not being quite as bad as the market expected, cure progression and stimulus package.
Longer lockdown impact on unemployment - 03:20 - 05:45
If lockdown continues for a longer period then unemployment will continue to rise and people, and business' will begin to run out of money and there wont be enough cash to help stimulate the economy.
Cure progression - 05:45 - 06:55
Early estimates were that it could take up to 18 months to find, manufacture and distribute a cure. We're only about 3 months into the crisis and medicines like Remdesivir are already being produced, and this is therefore beating the market estimate and therefore causing the market to rise.
Stimulus checks and packages and other impacts - 06:55 - 09:33
The UK government is continuing to pay wages and the US has announced over $2tn in stimulus. This is obviously instilling confidence into the market causing it to rise.
FOMO - 09:33 - 11:15
An interesting theory I have is that, in February and March we saw the market tank, a lot of investors were then trying to get cheap discounts on stocks, the market then began to rise because of the increase in demand and I think, made a much more severe rise due to the sheer amount of people FOMO'ing back into the market.

If only we knew then what we know now!
Thank you for the great video Tom, keep it up. Did your portfolio climb a lot yesterday? Mine did and lots of others did too, any reason particularly? I went from all in the red to all but one in the green…
If the pound crashes the UK stocks rise because they become cheap for foreign investors. The market is run by animal forces and controlled by market makers. The herd follows the funds the funds are controlled by billy big balls – so really its down to who wants to take the punt. Considering how badly the UK is being run its likely it will plato around a resistance soon. The markets to be in imho are EM (Emerging markets) and US but only once we can know for sure that GEOTUS will lead us because if it goes to the Dems we are screwed
Once again, Nice Video Thomas. I agree, if we don’t come out of this crisis soon then I believe the markets will drop again, perhaps we will see a recession in the uk towards the end of this year? Also what’s your thoughts on Graham Stephan’s video about Negative Interest Rates?
Yay Vaccination 💉 Bill Gates the doc / professor / drop out.
Another great video mate! It's hard to say what's going to happen next, any news on the current situation seems to be causing massive moves in the markets, personally I'm just buying stocks as usual, not trying to time the bottom or next crash.
Hi Thomas,
Can you do a video on the possible new Tesla 1,000,000 mile battery. If this turns out to be true and teslas offer a power to grid solution will this mean that the electric car will be a lot cheaper than an ice car.
Yes, the stock market is going to crash again. It is also going to go up again. Nobody knows when these things will happen. That's why I invest for the long term and don't try to time the market.
What do you think? is the Stock Market about to CRASH again?!
