How trading only one share can make you a profitable Trader If you don't know the basics and if you don't have data yet, that proves that you of edge, you probably don't need to be trading any money at all or you can just trade one share and you want to know what happens to most people when I tell them hey, there's nothing wrong with trading one share they say something like but how are we going to make money but how am I going to make money and what happens is this magical thing called our ego takes over and it says I can't make any money on one share It doesn't matter that I don't have experience in this or that I'm going to trade bigger and that's how people take a loss. Too big of a loss and then they learn. But so what I would say is for a lot of people, sizing tends to be a much later skill only once you have a track record of positive expected value in that trade. So in the very beginning you might not even need to be in.

I basically traded only 1 share (or usually 1 option contract cause I enjoy options analysis more) for about 9 months. Solid ~70% wr for about a 2:1 ratio. I watch 3-5 stocks and wait for set-ups that I like to form. Usually hold a 3 month out expiry option for no more than 2 weeks. It gave me the knowledge needed to start to trade 10-25 options contracts at a time.
