Hey what's up and welcome back to a new video Shawn's, the name YouTube's the game, and today we're gon na be talking about more YouTube, growth tips and tricks, fun facts: on average, 92 % of your total views on YouTube come from people who are not subscribed. You 92 percent. That means, if you get a hundred views on YouTube, only eight of those views came from your subscriber base. So it's a really sad thing on YouTube that not many people know about, because everyone thinks.

Oh all of my subscribers are the only people watching my views when, in reality it's not and that's the problem everyone gets caught up on getting subscribers on their YouTube channel. I need more subs sub4sub. I need more subscribers when reality. Yes, it's important to get subscribers for your channel, but you should be really focusing on is getting views from your subscribers because at the end of the day, what's the point in getting a million subscribers.

If no one watches your video so today, that's we're gon na be talking about we're gon na, be showing you guys how you can actually get more views from your subscribers, so you can actually double your total monthly view all right. So, first of all, if you want to see how many of your views are coming from, people who are actually subscribed to your channel, then head into your YouTube studio, go to the analytics section and then go ahead and click on audience tab. You can see some really great information here, like you know who your audience actually is like some great demographics like gender, age, location, etc, and you need to be constantly checking this page, so you can tailor your content accordingly, like, for example, as you can see, majority Of my views are coming from people who aren't subscribed more than the average actually, so I need to actually make some changes there, but this is where you can see that information and that's good, that that is our focus and is what we want to actually change On our channel sets we're going to be talking about today, there's two ways: we can actually accomplish this we'll be going over both, but if you can actually look at my channel, you can see that I've got about three thousand subscribers at the time. I'm making this video and only about 1.2 percent of my total views is coming from my subscribers, so really awful.

We definitely need to address that so number one look at this little bell right here. Okay, it's on the same page within our analytics. It shows how many of your subscribers turned on all notifications from your channel. Okay, so I'll show you typical stats, but really the goal is to surpass that because, as we know, average views from subscribers are super low as it is so we need to maximize our views from our subs, so it says the average goal is what 10 to 30 percent, but really you should be focusing on getting that number to anywhere from forty forty-five to fifty percent, because I don't really help double and maximize the views you get on your channel.
So I'm currently at about thirty percent, which really isn't bad but definitely needs improving. Okay, then you actually notice that the funnel takes it one step further right below it, because it shows you users with all notifications for your channel, who have enabled YouTube notifications as well. So it's like a push notification or an email like, for example, it's one thing to get a notification while you're on YouTube, saying that hey this person uploaded a video go check it out, but it's something entirely different for you to not be on YouTube and to Get a notification saying: hey Sean, just uploaded a video go check it out. We live in a world where, like we get a million notifications constantly, so the odds that the user actually has YouTube notifications on as well is very, very, very low.

It's just another thing to be popping up on our phone, so a lot of people turn them off. That is one stat on here that you really don't have a ton of control over sure. You might be able to influence your viewers a little bit with that, but for the most part, if someone doesn't want to get YouTube notifications for every single creator that they're subscribed to or that they have notifications on for then they're, probably gon na have that setting Off and they're probably gon na not be getting those locations, but don't worry about that stat! You want to focus on the other one. Why? Because 95 % of people on YouTube have their notifications from YouTube off and, like I said, just don't worry about it.

Push past that focus on getting people to subscribe, to turn the bell on for your channel. So if you're sitting there like alright Sean, so I know I need to get people to hit this bill. But how do I really do that? Well, simply, put you just need to remind people, okay, there's so many things if you've been watching me in my channel and anything else, I've got on YouTube. You know that I'll constantly remind viewers to do things.

It's one thing for someone to really like your video, but it's something entirely different for them to actually hit the like button on your video, because really that takes an extra two seconds of effort and most of us are lazy pieces of. So there's really nothing. You can do about that besides to remind people to take that extra two seconds out of their day to click a button for you and with that being said, make sure you like this video subscribe. If you haven't already and turn on the bell for my channel hehe, but seriously it's as simple as that and guys, this is YouTube, get creative with it.

I've seen some amazing stuff on YouTube to kind of remind people to do things like this. You don't always have to tell your audience to hit a button or subscribe, or do this. You can just have something pop up in the video like you're, seeing now to kind of remind people to subscribe or to click a bell or to do some sort and call to action. Okay.
So it's your job to get creative with it to get viewers engaged with your channel. I'm just here to tell you the important things that you can actually be doing and again it's your job to get creative with it. Alright, so that's number one right! You got to be reminding people to do those sorts of things and you'll be just fine. You'll get more of your subscribers watching your videos, because I'll actually be notified of it, which is super important now.

This is also something that is a hot topic on YouTube. I don't want to dive too much into it way back in the day we didn't have to about this bail thing subscribe, notifications, things. It was just you subscribe and you get notifications, so this is still something that YouTube is fine-tuning. But again you want to take advantage of it.

While you can now number two, the number two thing that you can be doing on your YouTube channel to actually get more of your subscribers to view your videos is to actually do a series or just a video that links one video to the next to the Next to the next to the next - and I've talked about this a little bit in a previous video. When I talked about how I'm able to turn one view on my channel into five views over and over and over again, which leads to a lot of growth. On your channel, if you haven't seen that video go check it out, but I want to explain this kind of in a different way within like kind of a different light today in the form of a story. So you can actually understand how this has worked.

For me in the past so way back in 2011, when I started one of my first ever gaming channels on YouTube, I noticed that a lot of other creators in my space were doing series. So very popular back in the day was minecraft still is pretty popular. Now, but what I would do is, I would see other creators making these Minecraft series so minecraft. Let's play episode.

1 minecraft, let's play episode 2 and I was wondering why so many people are watching these, and so many of these creators were growing so quickly. So I decided, let me try to do what they're doing and put it into effect on my channel and that's what I did and what I realized in the process is. This is just like a Netflix show. So when you go on Netflix, every series that you watch sure the episode you're watching is some good entertaining content.

But really the creators behind the show are just giving you a little bit in that episode and really they're giving you a big cliffhanger at the end. So you can come back and continue to watch the next one and the next one and the next one and the next one. That is exactly what you are going for here on YouTube and let me explain how this worked back in the day in 2011, when I made these Minecraft series, let's say, for example, I made a video called how to make a tree house in Minecraft episode. 12.
Well, people would be searching on YouTube how to make a tree house. Let me show you some cool ideas for building a tree house. They would come across my video and, as you know, with any other Netflix show, you can't just come in to a show and start on episode. 12.

If you see episode 12 out of friend's house you're gon na go, oh man, I should really just restart the series watch it all from the start. So I know, what's actually going on same exact thing on YouTube, people would come. They'd see this episode. 12 of my treehouse video and they go wow that was really entertaining.

I want to see this from the very beginning, and so they go back to my episode one and they watch two three four, five, six all the way through and now all of my videos are just growing and growing and growing and growing, and it's a total Snowball effect because, as those videos grew got more views, they would show up higher in search rankings and then more people would join in on episode 10 and 15 and 20 and go hmmm. I need to start from the beginning. So now I'm taking this one person and I'm getting twenty to thirty to forty views out of that one person and the best part is is they are subscribing for more to see the new content. So I'm literally just maximizing the views on getting on my channel from my subscribers, and this is super simple and it is how I exploded my channels.

Back in the day, I was doubling my views and then doubling my views, then doubling my views - and I was just growing super fast on YouTube because of these series that I was doing and if you're sitting there going well Shawn. That sounds great and all, but I don't make video game content or the videos that I make aren't necessarily in episode 1 and episode 2 and episode 3. So how do I make a series out of it? Well again, that is your job to figure out. I'm just here to give you the tools to kind of succeed on YouTube, but I will say if you are new to my channel or you watch my channel.

That is something I don't do on this specific channel just yet. I don't have necessarily a series in place, so I myself am going to actually be creating a series for this channel kind of be brainstorming, see what I have if you've got some great ideas for me. Maybe you want to see some certain things kind of turn. It into a series, let me know in the comments down below, but really guys.

This is where you get to get creative on YouTube. Think about your content like if you're a cooking channel, you can go alright. Why don't I make a breakfast series at breakfast playlist where I go? I'm gon na make breakfast breakfast foods for a week straight and turn into a series and when I say series guys you can treat it so many different ways. Again.

There could be a part. 1 part 2. Part 3. You really just want to create content that inspires your viewers to watch the next piece in your content series and, like I said, I'm going to be creating a series on this channel sometime in the future moving forward, because, again, I created this specific channel on YouTube To prove you that all these strategies in tech, then I talk about our living proof.
So I'm not just here to tell you about things, I'm here to grind it out with you. It's a team effort everything I've learned in the past 9 plus years on YouTube and all the success. I've found another channels, I'm here to share it with you and actually do it with you all right. So that's kind of the two main things in this video.

I want to talk about. You need to constantly be reminding people to subscribe and like and hit the bell and all those great things, because people do for debt. Trust me they do forget, so you need to remind them, and you need to get some sort of series or some sort of good, looking playlists or something that links video to video to video. So you can maximize the amount of views you're getting from your subscribers.

It's super important to the success of your YouTube channel. So hopefully this video has helped you if it did. Please hit that like button subscribe, the bell all that kind of stuff - I was just talking about to see more of my awesome content on helping you guys succeed on YouTube again guys. This is a team effort.

We all help each other grow as a community. All right so John's a name, YouTube's game. I will see you in the next video and I appreciate you watching.
