Hello, everyone and welcome back to a new video shawne's, the name YouTube's the game in this video we'll be talking about how much a single view is worth to a creator on YouTube and this topic most people get it wrong or have no idea what they're talking About which is why we're talking about it today and if you're new around here consider smashing that subscribe button, we go over all sorts of behind the scenes, data and information relating to YouTube on this channel, but without further ado. Let's get started first of all. If you don't know this already, youtubers do in fact get paid off their YouTube videos. I actually made a video a couple of weeks ago revealing the top 10 richest youtubers and how much they made.

So if you haven't seen that video make sure you check it out at the end of this one it'll be linked in the description of this video. So don't you worry, but yes, youtubers do in fact get paid off of their YouTube channel. However, it is extremely hard to do because you need to pull in a decent amount of monthly views on your channel. The question is: how many, how many views, how many likes, how many subscribers, how many comments? How many does it take to actually make a decent amount of money on YouTube and what in particular actually brings home the bacon? Well, contrary to popular belief, subscribers mean almost nothing when it comes to getting paid off YouTube.

It's all about the views which, hopefully all of you know that, which is why you're watching this video, so youtubers get paid from numerous revenue sources. However, we're going to be going over strictly ad revenue today, not YouTube red revenue, donations, sponsorships, merch sales, etc. Just how much money, a single view generates a youtuber when someone watches an ad on their video now people always break it down by how much a youtuber makes per thousand views, but nah we're doing it by single view today, because it makes much more of an Impact on us this way now I've broken this discussion down in so much more detail in my online course to YouTube success, but here's a little snippet of that information. I've done a case study where I took monthly ad revenue from three different YouTube channels and divided it by the amount of monetized playbacks, so basically by the amount of ads that were played that month.

I then took this information of these three channels and averaged them together. So again, while this number I'm about to give you isn't 100 % accurate for every single channel in YouTube, it's pretty dang close to what most channels are making alright drum roll. Please! I am about to probably absolutely wow you guys right now. Cuz most people don't know what this is and the numbers actually extremely low.

Contrary belief. So before I tell you this keep in mind that lots of factors can change. This number do not forget about that, but on average, when a viewer watches an ad on YouTube that specific YouTube content, creator of that video makes a whopping zero point: zero, zero to nine cents, that's literally a quarter of a penny in USD yeah so, like I Said it's super hard to make a living off youtube, because ad rates are not super amazing, but now that you've seen this video you're, probably thinking oh, I know what any youtuber makes on YouTube and you're going over your favorite youtubers channel they're gon na how many Views they made that month and going okay. Let's multiply it by zero point: zero, zero, two, nine and I'll know exactly how much they make.

Well again, that's not quite the case guys, because not all views are monetized and there's really no way in finding out how many views were monetized on a specific Channel. So sadly, you'll have to continue to use social blade comm for now to find out some information about your favorite youtubers and again, I go into so much more detail about how I got this number and what factors change this number and how youtubers capitalize off this.
