When I was getting my engineering degree, I definitely used Harvard's free course resources to supplement my studies
Technically, at a government-funded school – you're not paying for the instruction or knowledge. Your taxes already did that. When you pay tuition, you're paying for the credit, the official stamp of the course. It's silly, but its true. So yes, you can go sit in and "audit" a course.
Yup. In some cases you can skip the class and just buy the textbook. Books are amazing things. Not sure if many people still use them.
Fun Fact MIT also has classes online for free and Michael is doing what's called auditing. You can audit classes if you ask. lols. Most college libraries are public if you have a state id and ask before entering. ๐
Iโve done that at Stanford. You can just walk in and watch classes lol
But when you apply for a job you can not say ๐ I have a degree in cs. I guess having one gives you and advantage.
Go to a public college and just ask permission. This is called auditing. No you don't get college credit.
I was a computer science student and they started taking attendance to stop people from taking the class for free because you no longer need a degree to get a software job
When is Graham going to go to college? He would do so well there.
It is also harder to take out a loan to cover expenses to devote yourself to teaching yourself
I wonder if it's hard to find work then since you wouldn't be getting a degree
I started watching Graham few days ago. His content is so fun I just watch him for hours every day.
