I thought this would be a fun idea to pull back the financial curtain on YouTube and share with you guys exactly how I make about $13,800 per month from YouTube - and also answer “how much YouTubers can actually make.” Enjoy! Add me on Instagram/Snapchat: GPStephan

Disclosure: I started this channel purely for fun and it remains a hobby for me - I don’t do this for the money, although this income just happens to be a byproduct of all the time I spend on here. This is not my full time job, I do this for fun, and I actually end up getting a MUCH higher ROI hour-for-hour working as a real estate agent selling homes than spending time on YouTube…but I really really enjoy it, and if it happens to make money at the same time, cool 🙂
So the main part when it comes to this income is the most obvious, and that’s YouTube ad revenue. This means that, on average, for every view I get on a video, I make about a penny. The amount that you see here might seem like a lot, but it absolutely didn’t happen overnight and there’s a year’s worth of work, and probably over 1600 hours of effort that went into what you see today. Ad revenue like this isn’t passive, and the swings in revenue could be fairly dramatic…in December I made just over $7000, but in February I had a much slower month at $3200, that’s over a 50% drop in revenue. So if someone is relying on YouTube ad revenue full time for income, it’ll be a tough one to handle because at the end of the day, you’re at the mercy of YouTube and how much they suggest your videos.
Now the second component of this total income is amazon affiliate revenue. Now this is pretty small, but it ads up over time…This works out to another $60 a month or so. It’s not a lot, but it’ll add up over time. For other creators out there, you can probably optimize this by linking to more expensive items - many people do this with camera equipment, and I’m sure that’ll make more revenue - but again, you shouldn’t rely on this by any means.
The third revenue source from YouTube comes from my program, The Real Estate Agent Academy. Now this is something I spent MONTHS putting together, filming, and editing that teaches people how to generate business as a real estate agent. Now this type of real estate agent audience only makes up a very small portion of my YouTube demographic, although it does seem to generate about $6300 per month with very little advertising on my end.
Finally, my last source of income is one-on-one coaching calls. I don’t do this too often and it’s really on a case-by-case basis depending on the person, but I mainly do coaching for active real estate agents and real estate investors. This works out to about $400/month, give or take depending on how many people I talk to.
All in all, between ad revenue, program sales, amazon affiliate commissions, and coaching calls, it works out to about $13,800 per month…and I’d say I spend about 130 hours a month between them all. I would be doing all of this regardless if I was making $0 per month or $50,000 per month. So I definitely don’t want anyone to get the idea that the only reason I’m doing this is for money, but I have a feeling this video might inspire other people and give them the push knowing that it’s possible to make a living off of YouTube as long as you’re dedicated and add as much value to the other person as possible.
Now for anyone thinking of doing something similar or wanting to make a living on Youtube, just be aware that you absolutely CAN - but success won’t happen overnight. You will need to work upfront for a loss, with the expectation that if you provide value or entertainment, eventually it will come back to you and you can begin making a living. But consistency is key, and I’m sure it’s easy to get discouraged if you do this full time and just can’t make ends meet in the beginning…so ideally I’d keep Youtube part time as a hobby until you begin making money, and at that time you can evaluate whether or not it’s something you’d like to do.

Thanks for the video Graham. You helped inspire me to start a YouTube channel. I’ve been monetized for about a year and have made about $3,000 (I’m a baby YouTuber 😂) from ad revenue. I appreciate you pulling back the curtain and helping me see that this was a real potential income source.
I have little to no ideas about what to create on youtube but im sooo motivated & willing to put in the effort in i just lack of ideas tbh, any recommendations?
Fu*king love you Graham!😭
Awsome man! 👌
Ay nice vid
my family says that I can't make a living from making videos on youtube
How can you not like graham

GRAHAM IS A REAL ONE. HE'S A GOOD DUDE💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
And here we are 2 years later and your income more than 20Xd… so happy for you, man. I feel like I’ve known you forever
It's amazing to see how far your channel has come in terms of revenue looking back! Thank you for always putting so much effort and information into every video!
Enjoyed the video!
Am I the only one hearing a mosquito
I like your videos but way too many ads
Great video!
Graham thank you so much for this information. I really love how in detail you go!
no excuses! thanks for this video graham this is amazing advice
Graham, if you had two different topics for content that are fairly different. One is vlogging my work days in the field the other is travel oriented. Might have some viewers that like both but most would be interested in one or the other. Would you make two different channels?
Hey Graham, Thanks for the amazing work! You're an inspiration! I'm trying to find your video where you talk about how you research popular topics for your videos. Do you remember which one that is? Thx!
No need to justify how or why you make what you do. If you trained chimpanzees to play ping pong what you accomplish is irrelevant. More power to you
Graham. Bro. You may not ever read this but thank you. From the bottom of my heart. I appreciate it more than you know. You are clear, pointed, open, giving, well spoken & definitely content of value and I have watched this video alone. In all honesty it will most likely be the only one I watch. My Dr lol referred you earlier today. Amazing, right? I thought you'd enjoy that. To make and/or offer value. What a GREAT question to ask oneself pondering the waters of YT as a career. Your video here truly was of value and I am leaving such a long, in-depth comment in compliment to this vid and to mark this occasion … when Tommy Piro made the first official step towards this possible career. I hope to revisit your channel but in THAT context, it'll be to share with you my success and swing around this first half of a thank you reply to close it off with the other half in the future. Yes! I'm also being a bit of a nuisance right now as I could have ended this at least 200 or so characters ago. Lol – Tommy 🤜🏻🤛🏻
I'm so happy to give "likes" to videos like this one. Thank you Graham!
I know you share it because you dont live off it and I know you make more from your passive income.✌️
