How do I How do I miss seven shots in a row Miss Seven appointments in a row Miss Seven opportunities to get a signed contract in a row and walk into the eighth with the same bravado, the same confidence, the same skills. How do I do that? You learn to untether from results. You learn to untether from external metrics. And I know this is very counting.
That's hard. That's hard for people. Yes, the real estate game is very externally metric driven, as is the game of basketball, right? The team with the most points on the scoreboard when the final buzzer goes off is the winner. So I understand the external metric.
but it doesn't mean that you have to derive your value, your self-belief and your self-confidence from that. See when you can learn to love the work, When you can learn to love doing the open house, When you can learn to love serving someone that may not buy from you anyway, then you've already won in advance.
I didn't love doing open houses and when I "serve someone" who doesn't buy from me, I just worked for free when I could've spent that time with my kids and derived value. So, I quit working with clients and started a Youtube channel instead. I'm still working for free but I love it! Point is, do what you love, whether you succeed or fail, otherwise you're wasting your time. Inner value has nothing to do with it really. Value your time!!
