After months of waiting, tesla's battery investor day is finally coming on september 22nd. Elon musk has called this day the most exciting day in tesla's history. For many reasons, over the past few months there have been some pretty crazy but interesting. Speculations, including a possible partnership with ampris, which was later confirmed by elon, to be quote unquote nothing while many of these kinds of rumors are intriguing.

The probability of them happening is likely very slim in this video i'm going to be going over what you should actually expect on tesla's battery investor day welcome to cast gains academy if you're new to the channel. Please consider subscribing for more content like this and let's get right into it. Ever since tesla acquired maxwell technologies on may 16, 2019 there's been much speculation about a tesla, solid state battery. However, while a solid-state battery would be groundbreaking, the probability of having one revealed on tesla's battery day is very low.

Given elon skepticism on such technology, instead of solid state tesla, will likely reveal the long rumored dry battery electrode before tesla acquired maxwell maxwell had been developing its dry battery electrode for quite some time. In fact, in an investor presentation in 2019, maxwell mentioned that their business was to split into two components: energy storage and dry battery electrodes by 2023 maxwell estimated that his dry battery electrode would be worth multi-billion dollars, whereas the energy storage component would be only worth 1.3 Billion dollars, in addition, maxwell also confirms that his dry battery electrode has already demonstrated over 300 watt hours per kilogram and had a battery lifetime two times greater than the batteries used today. All of this comes with the cost reduction of 10 to 20 and a 16 times production capacity density increase. This technology will likely give around 300 to 350 watt hours per kilogram, given that maxwell already achieved 300 watt hours per kilogram in january of 2019..

In terms of driving range, a 350 watt hour per kilogram battery would likely bring around 450 miles of range on the model. 3.. A range that high may not seem that groundbreaking due to solid-state battery rumors, but the truth is that it still would be revolutionary to put this into perspective. The long-range version on the model 3 can last 322 miles on one charge.

So a 450 mile range implies that the model 3 will get a 40 range increase. This in the battery world is a substantial amount. However, we shouldn't expect this battery to be in the model 3. Quite yet, and that leads us to the next leak.

While there is a consensus that tesla will begin placing its new battery in the model 3 and y, the truth is that it takes some time to scale up to that level of battery production. Tesla's primary battery factory that was built in partnership with panasonic the gigafactory one took two years to complete construction since the acquisition of maxwell technologies, tesla has only had about one and a half years to finalize the chemistry of its new battery. This brings us to the plaid model: s and x, an upcoming race car version of both the s and x. We've recently seen lucid motors, an up-and-coming electric vehicle manufacturer beat the tesla model s in a side-by-side race.
This allowed lucid to claim the title of the quickest production eevee in the world. However, if the lucid ceo is watching, this don't get too excited, tesla has been preparing the speedy model s for many months now in germany. These plaid vehicles have a very high probability of being revealed on battery day, based on a hidden tweet by elon himself on august 10th, 2020 elon tweeted this image, stating one day soon. I will wear this outfit.

The person in the image is a man by the name of herbert rugles, tarlek jr, a television host who is most famous for wearing plaid suits. The plaid suit is implying that elon will soon be revealing the plaid model, s and x, which just happens to coincide with tesla's upcoming battery day using a new battery technology patented by tesla a few months ago. This vehicle will have a stunning 0-60 and an extremely fast charging time, dubbed the tablets electrode and patented by jeff don tesla's battery research partner, the proprietary technique utilizes a unique way of folding batteries. This gets rid of the tabs on each side of the battery by minimizing the time it takes to transfer energy from one battery to another.

This improves a discharge and charge rate. A faster discharge allows for quicker acceleration, whereas a faster charging rate minimizes the time it takes to charge. Your vehicle elon has described tesla's tablet's electrode as way more important than it sounds, and i'm sure he's not joking. This technology will get tesla closer and closer to the goal of having evs charge as fast as gasoline vehicles.

On june, 4th 2020 tesla publicly acknowledged that the company had a pilot production line in its fremont factory. This production line would have 400 employees split into four six hour shifts, allowing for 24 7 battery production on tesla's battery investor day. We're expected to see the results of the production line and, if you're in person at the event, elon has confirmed that you'll actually be able to see tesla's pilot production line by the way tesla's battery investor day. Sign ups have been going on for quite some time now and, if you'd like to sign up i'll leave the link in the description below i'd love, to see video footage of what some of you guys experience at the in person battery day tesla's project codenamed roadrunner Has been working not just to develop a battery with groundbreaking specs, but also with cheap material costs and by cheap material costs.

I mean under 100 per kilowatt hour. Auto executives have long seen 100 per kilowatt hour as the price point where electric vehicles cost the same. You manufacture as internal combustion engines on tesla's battery day. We should expect to receive the specific cost per kilowatt hour of tesla's new battery, which has been achieved through making breakthroughs on the production level from acquisitions like maxwell and hybar.
Finally, the last expectation to have is the unveiling of giga taxes and giga berlin. The next logical step for tesla to scale its in-house battery manufacturing is to expand to gigatexas we've seen the confirmation of gigatexas happen over the past couple of months, and at this point it's already a done deal on tesla's battery investor day. We're likely to see the timelines on giga texas and how the production of the cyber truck and sami will roll out. In addition, giga berlin also has an upcoming in-house battery production line, which will also manufacture tesla's new battery battery day will clear up tesla's plan to vertically integrate into batteries in both giga texas and giga berlin.

To sum this, all up, these are the realistic expectations. I have for battery day maxwell's dry battery, electrode and unveiling of the plaid model: s and x, tesla's tablets, electrode the pilot production line in fremont battery cost declines and, last but not least, a deep unveiling of gigatexas and giga berlin. Of course, these are only predictions, but they have a high likelihood of happening and we could always get shocked by an unexpected breakthrough. Nevertheless, i'm very excited for this day on september 22nd and i'm sure i'm not the only one out there.

Let me know what you expect at tesla's battery investor day in the comment section below. Do you agree with the expectations i laid out? Also, let me know if there are any other predictions that i may have missed. If you enjoyed this video, please hit the like button and subscribe and i'll see you in the next one. You.

as much as EVs are great for the environment i think there should be a split between EVs and gas engines. Sports cars, supercars and hyper cars just wont be able to output as much power without the gas engines

One thing that is never discussed in these FB posting is the resale value of Tesla cars. It is much higher the ICEs.

Great video, but your information on Herb Tarlek is flawed. He was not a TV host, he was an advertising salesman for the radio station WKRP in Cincinnati.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Richard Fiser says:

Elon and Tesla are junk. Do your own research, DYOR……massive drugs being ran from the Tesla battery factory, in coordination with the US DOJ and the Mexican Drug cartels, Meth ofcourse, and launching 50K 5G satellites to destroy life on this planet, and a brain interface between computers and human brains, its total lack of regard for what it is to be human and a part of the earth's ecosystem. Tesla cars are cheap and ugly inside……..way ovrepriced…..so anyone can find out these things for themselves with a tiny bit of effort…..look into the whistleblower who reported Elon running drugs

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paypal Services says:

Do you guys realize, batteries are mainly produced by CATL? There is no hype for EV day. It's just a longer lasting car. Making Tesla a car stock not a tech company

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Savage says:

For pities sake, I'm so tired of reading about Tesla's battery day! The auto industry refuses to make a self charging electric car, and give people vehicles everyone can afford! Fact! And what about simply converting existing cars and trucks? What? Everyone suddenly is rich and can throw forty grand away on a vehicle, and throw their existing vehicle away? Even if Tesla comes up with a so-called miracle battery, 55% of the people won't be able to afford such a vehicle! Shut the hell up! Electric vehicles aren't practical or affordable for 55% of the population!

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Campbell says:

Who wants every non Tesla car company out of business and everyone just drives Tesla's?

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars fenrirgg says:

"Oh no, but hydrogen is the future because it's gasoline 2.0" said the guy that only builds animation renderings.

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Misty Diablo says:

So what happens to everyones job when the battery gets "Good"
Diesel mechanics for trucks = fired
    car mechanics = fired
    uber people = fired

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Showmy says:

Sorry but i think the 2x life span note was talking about previous gens of dry batteries not conventional lithium batteries …. I didnt do resaerch on this tho so dont trust me

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jlf180 says:

To avoid "Osborne Syndrome" and customer dis-satisfaction, and the reason Battery Day was postponed, the technology and improvements were started in June. Cars shipped since July have had the new tech already installed. Customers since July will get a sudden bonus. Also, million mile battery will be announced. these are my predictions.
