Whether you're long or short on a trade, you need to be able to identify what the backside of a chart is. You should also know what that means for future possibilities of price action. Huddie always looks for extension. It should be trading mass amounts of volume and having big percent gains.
A few days after each candle engulfs the previous … that’s when that volume also correlates to the big percent move. This is also called exhaustion volume, where the stock just can’t sustain that movement. But this still isn’t the backside!
The backside is a very significant trend change. Tune in to see a chart example on TSLA and learn what a bag holder is.
As the stock kinda trickles down and comes back to reality, it’s not gonna be able to move the same way it moved back when it was on day one of the run. Why? Tune in to learn how this creates the backside.
Now on the first red day, everyone that previously bought in at the high of day is red. The stock’s gapping down and a lot of sellers will sell into any bounce.
This can create great short-selling opportunities...
When it's the front side, everybody's buying those spikes. When the stock's green every day, people are buying breakouts like crazy. They don't wanna miss it, right? Then you flip after that first red day, especially in the junk stocks. Any of those weak bounces get sold into, and the exact dynamic flips.

Great Vid! Was wondering if front/back sides can also happen during a smaller time frame (1/5min)? Ex. Morning push (1-2 dollar move – increased volume) then price and volume get exhausted and starts reversing?

Hey guys thanks for providing the awesome vids, learn something new every time. I would like to ask, how many months being consistently profitable do you guys think its safe to say that you can actually make a living out of trading?

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sound Adventure says:

Greetings guys, wanted to say I appreciate all your work. It's tremendously helpful. My question: Tim, I know you're a huge fan of viewing the 1 year chart; and of course you talk about only trading bullish trends, but where do you make that cutoff? As in, if a stock is generally lateral for 8-10 months, but then gets slightly bullish, would that then become a stock you'll consider trading? Or do you have to have essentially, a whole year of relatively positive movement to put it on a watch list?

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Donna Reed says:

Can you please explain how you decide when to take profits when you're long and there's no resistance ahead ?
