I said it before, all you need to debunk these tech company promises, is a little engineering and physics knowledge. The tech that RIDE presented so far is not practical for the purposes of a pickup truck. Like Nikola, it doesn't matter if they can get the truck rolling.

If you go to Hindenbergโ€™s Twitter page they have a video of the multiple times Burns referred to these pre-orders as sales. For example, he has said that โ€œthe first yearโ€™s production is already sold.โ€ Clearly he has been trying to be deceptive. While a sophisticated institutional investor probably understood what these pre-orders really are, it is likely lots of retail investors had no idea.

There is also an example of a municipality that is listed on Lordstownโ€™s books as having pre-ordered 15 trucks, but a municipal official said that it was โ€œimpossibleโ€ that they could ever purchase that many vehicles. Which raises the question of whether some of the pre-order numbers themselves are inflated. (No doubt, if this proves to be widespread Lordstown will probably blame their pre-order contractors. It is always handy to have a scapegoat on standby!)

Hey Tom, just saw the second to last video. I'm still skeptical even though the bond yields are going down. Let's remember what Mr. Buffett said: Be fearful when others are greedy. get greedy when others are fearful. We'll only know for sure if we are on the up and up when we have the majority of the population vaccinated and have no excuse for not working or going outside.

The CEO did say these orders were non-binding when he appeared on Cramer Mad Money (when the preorders were only at 50k).

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Regall says:

Go onto Wikipedia and look up Workhorse and their connections to Lordstown. You don't need a short seller to tell you these companies are fucked. That said, I appreciate the video, keep it up!

Next short report: Lordstown and Workhorse CEOs paying Youtuber (jack Spencer) to hype up stocks.

These are my own opinions and not financial advice, but just some thoughts to consider in defense of Lordstown. I had no idea who Lordstown was until yesterday, but am invested in RIDE now. Here are my thoughts:

    1. Hidenburg could be paranoid because they are seeing a trend based on their past accusations of Nikola, which weren't 100% true. They could just be acting out of fear, or worse shorting this company for profit and using their report as an excuse to do so.

    2. Lordstown pushed back its beta testing to September this year, understandable a lot of companies have been effected by Covid.

    3. It's hard to gauge pre-orders of anything, especially a product that a customer has yet to try. Some companies may have even back pedaled on pre orders due to Covid losses. This doesn't mean that they have 0 interest in the truck. Only that they may be experiencing loss and want to hold off on products they have yet to try.

    4. Lordstown has a physical product that is in testing and it looks solid. As with anything it's a gamble to invest into a company with a product still in testing, but here we see an actual product… not just some proof of concept.

    5. Lordstown is backed by GM. That shows confidence in the company and their products. Big money is convinced on Lordstown's product.

Again, this is just my perspective. If anyone has rebuttals feel free to post.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Antony Stringfellow says:

I'd like to know how many $ they paid these people for their non-binding "pre-orders".
Just imagine, being offered money for doing nothing more than saying you'll consider ordering at some point in the future.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Antony Stringfellow says:

There is a class action lawsuite against WKHS too.
They (allegedly) deceived investors over a non-existing order with UPS.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Antony Stringfellow says:

Shorting ANY stock is a very high risk game. One single position could completely bankrupt you as the upside has no limit. All it takes is for some group like WSB to start buying, in unison. That can cause a short squeeze and a gamma squeeze, as already seen several times with GME. GME could still head up to four figures!

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Antony Stringfellow says:

"If you say that you are willing to consider buying XXXX vehicles from us, we will will pay you."
    – Then they call that an 'order'.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Antony Stringfellow says:

What do the following three have in common: NKLA, RIDE, WKHS?

Always DYOR before investing in ANY company.

One red flag should be sufficient to make you walk away – there are plenty of great investment opportunities out there so why take the risk?

Hindenburg is just short, what are they doing is illegal, they did this to RIOT, MARA, SOS, IDEX and many more.
