Hey this is tom and there's breaking news out of russia. Apparently, putin is about to address the nation and also from what it basically sounds like he's going to recognize the independence of the separatists that took over parts of eastern ukraine and essentially what it means. And although it sounds very technical, it means that putin is changing. The rules of the game, because what a lot of you don't know is it back in 2014, when the separatists grabbed a piece of ukraine and basically declared the dependence they're by the way pro-russian separatists rebels, whatever you're going to call them, they signed a bunch of Agreements essentially saying well, you know russia is not going to meddle they're, not going to claim it's theirs.

Ukraine is not going to meddle, we're just going to let them be, and the agreements basically said. It's called the minsk minsk agreements. Minsk is the capital of belarus and the minsk agreement basically stated that it's going to be like a status quo and - and it's been like that it's been tense over there, but basically pretty much. The agreements held up now putin announcing that russia will recognize the dependence of these separatists as a separate country is essentially going to be breaking.

You know it's like the guy coming in and assuming playing soccer right and one guy doesn't like the way it's going. So he's taking the ball and he's kicking it away and he's like walking away off the field. So that's pretty much what he's doing so. That's a major escalation of of the situation right here and it's not good.

It's not good. In fact, a lot of western embassies are evacuating, and but you have to understand that when you hear about evacuations of foreign nationals and such uh, a lot of it is precautionary and a lot. They have to be extra, cautious and extra, careful um. It doesn't necessarily mean the war is coming tomorrow, but look.

The dude has 200 000 troops on the border. He has tanks infrastructure logistics. He definitely can start a war, but i think still - and i hold this opinion - even though it's getting harder to hold this opinion - that it's still a lever that he's trying to pull to leverage to get some concessions from nato he's essentially trying to he's playing a Game of chicken and he's basically accelerating right now, just to show the other party that he's not going to back down, because it's a major play right now. The thing is um if it actually escalates to a war, because it might at this point every little spark can start a complete if it escalates to a full-on war.

Um everybody will lose. Even him, ukraine will lose will suffer. Russia will has nothing to gain from taking over ukraine they're going to unify nato against them. It's going to be the biggest war in europe.

Since 1945., europe is going to diversify gas supplies, everybody's going to lose, there's going to be gas shortages in europe even worse than they are right now, in the middle of this winter, what's left of it anyways, so things are not looking good and here's the thing. If it actually comes to that, i think that the only thing putin will gain here is the one thing that's still motivating him. Is that reclaiming the lost russian respect, the slavic respect that they lost in 1990? That's the only thing he has to gain here and he's going to drag his entire people in his entire country into this war because of his own kind of insecurities and inferiority complex post 1990. I in my heart, i think that putin, if you know he's a really bad man and the vicious one he's not illogical.
I still think that he would not do something so emotional when there's nothing to be gained here. As far as utilitarian approach to this - and that's just my opinion on this - i don't think so i just don't think so, but if he does - and i was wrong about it - that was gon na suck for everybody - i'm not gon na lie. I speak to a lot of russian friends a lot of ukrainian friends, there's literally nobody who wants this war, of course, there's certain idiots on both sides that are basically warmongering, some nationalistic on both sides, but that's a very small, yet vocal minority 99 of people just Want to you know, go to work sleep on their bed watch their tv feed their family. Nobody wants this slavic respect, nonsense, war, it's complete more honesty! I just don't understand it.

I honestly hope i'm not wrong about this, and this is not gon na happen. Not because of my ego being right is because i honestly don't want this bloodshed because there's one thing i can tell you this, no war has ever had a clear winner. Every time people go to war, there's only losers, so let's pray that this finds a ladder to climb down from this tree he climbed on. Hopefully you know this is just a game of chicken and he knows he's not gon na.

You know go all the way with this, but at this point who knows, i still think that look. It would be very crazy for me to think that this war happens. Despite zero interest from anybody, nothing to be gained here, nothing literally so i'll tell you if it happens, how it's going to happen and of course i pray to god that it's not going to happen, but here's how the plan will work for putin. He can't obviously just invade and say: well i'm just you know, f you i'm just going to do it because i want it.

He got to have an excuse at least plausible one. It doesn't look completely moronic. So what he's going to do is you're going to recognize the independence of the separatists and, as a consequence, they're going to be able to stage some sort of a false lag attack on them. They're going to call mother russia for help.

Now now that they've been recognized as an independent country, they're going to call putin say: oh we're being attacked women, little children, blah blah blah the whole. You know the whole spiel and then russia is going to come to the rescue of these people and that's going to be the official excuse. That's what he's trying to create for that to happen. He needs to pro provocate ukraine uh into attacking the separatists.
So that's. What's going to happen, the next few hours few days they're going to try to provoke some sort of a an incident on the eastern border, so they can actually create this. This attack or whatever i don't think you can get away with a complete false flag attack. It's going to be kind of obvious now that everybody's expecting it, but if they can provoke um somebody on the ukrainian side to do something stupid, yeah, that's going to be his way in, and you know when you have a bunch of guys sitting on the border.

Tensed up and and and ready to go, you only need one idiot to start a war yeah. Let's hope it doesn't happen, see you later.

Putin has had enough of NATO's expansion eastwards, and is putting an end to it. Furthermore, the complex history and diverse traditions in the Ukraine and disputed regions only adds further (localised) levels of complexity. Putin is facing down NATO's expansion as JFK did with Cuba in 1961….. NATO missiles once based in Ukraine could strike Moscow in less than 30mins, so no way any head of state would stand for that.
I believe Putin is not seeking expansion, but national security…. and let's not forget, Ukraine has not acted as entirely as innocently as virgin snow in all this since 2014 either. The more we refuse to address all the complexities, from BOTH sides, the more likely this will end in catastrophe, and right quick.

Russia is not allowed to recognize separatist, because the separatist are bad? but China is forced to recognize separatist Taiwan????

This is not Russia dont like the game and kick the ball. The game was rigged against Russia and China from the start. No one play a rigged game. If the world want peace, the west need to stop rigging the game.

    Hey Tom,
Look at this. Putin has nothing to lose. He can invade Ukraine a little and then back off. the Germans will reward him, the EU will reward him, and Biden will be happy. If you were Putin, would you rather face Biden to Trump? Of course, So, he makes Biden look good, and Biden gets re-elected, and Putin wins. Just common sense. JK

This is not good, if Russia invades this can led to serious, possibly nuclear, war.

Why wouldn’t Putin invade? Everyone else is reacting to him, he is calling the shots. He knows no one will actually stop him so why not go for it.

Thanks for all your updates Tom.
We are all one people, war should be a war crime, it has no place in the 21st century. Peace and love to all my Ukrainian and Russian brothers and sisters.

Last week Biden said an invasion was imminent… this past weekend they said an invasion was imminent… the longer it goes on the less likely an invasion becomes…

I agree, I think Putin would be crazy to do it, but the longer this goes on the more chance there is that he can find a pretext. Let’s hope a diplomatic settlement can be reached.

CIA started the Civil War and coup d' etat in Ukraine in 2014, NATO controls the arms in Ukraine now. This is about the One World Government of Klaus Schwab WEF, you cannot have a One World Government unless all Countries are willingly or forced into it. In the case of the US, Biden and his bosses are for the US being a state of "A credible United Nations"–GHW Bush said it. Russia and as I understand it, China is no longer in favor of being ruled by the UN. America has already Fallen, Russia has not nor has China yet.

First of all- Putin has gone off the rails, and he’s delusional. You are right in saying no one will win this idiotic land grab, however, this will be the end of Putin once and for all when the smarter minds in the kremlin show this rank amateur the door. And it will happen sooner than you think…

The way I see it, watching Putin speak on RT and seeing how things have unfolded. America supported regime change in Ukraine. They drive the NATO expansion East (against every agreement made with Russia after WW2). They have tried to bring Ukraine into NATO (in my opinion to provoke Russia into exactly this kind of action). The US has surrounded Russia with military systems that tip the strategic balance in their favour. And for what? Russia is asking the US and other NATO countries to remove military offensive capabilities from their doorstep. Those countries are not listening. I don’t believe this is just down to ‘Russian aggression’. If you watch him speak Putin makes all of this very clear in ever press conference. He does not want the war but the enemy is at the gates.

How would the US react if Russia built an alliance with Mexico or Canada and started installing military bases and offensive missile capabilities within 100 miles of the US border? I think we all know the answer to that question.

If this war escalates, it isn’t one that we will just be watching on TV. And in my opinion, its American exceptionalism and its foreign policy based on maintaining global hegemony that have led us here.

putin has a lot to gain from ukraine. this is a high iq nation of of 40M and of the same type and culture as his own. he needs ukraine for his empire, not the land but the people

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dirty69impala says:

You kinda have to wonder why Putin started trippin’ at this particular time. Currently, Russia is under sanctions that put the largest oil deal in history on hold ($500 Billion Dollars). Trump and his administration failed to get those sanctions lifted. Now, Putin has no influence in American politics and has to pull NATO (America) into a situation where concessions can be made. Putin is gonna ask for something he can’t get in order to get some of those sanctions lifted.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Raziel ThaGreat says:

I wish i didnt have to sound like im defending putin of all people…but in the early 90s we came to an agreement to not move an inch east toward russia when it came to Nato..and since then weve done the complete opposite. Again im no fan of Putin…hes an ex KGB guy i mean…enough said right..BUUUUUUUUT think of it this way…If the roles were reversed and Russia had told the USA..hey guys we kicked your ass but we wont allow a buildup of an army anywhere close to your borders…and then they started moving into Toronto with a base ..Vancouver…They put a base in mexico city..started sending their navy to the gulf of mexico and had a little base in jamaica and cuba and hispañola…the US wouldn't be allowed to head to key west and set up troops ?? Or texas and arizona???? You see when you live inside the empire and youve been told since birth that we are the " good guys" its hard to imagine anyone else as anything other than the "bad guys". But without giving nuance and context or even allowing for it. This is what we have. One bully pointing the finger at the other bully saying…HEY THIS GUYS A BULLY….. 😂
