What's up everybody welcome back to my channel today's video. I wanted to give an unbiased reason as to why you should choose to chase a five reserve car over the American Express Platinum Card. If anybody knows me they know, I am big on American Express Platinum. I am teen index plan them all away, but everybody's not me, and I'm not everybody.
So I want to give you a really unbiased or reason as to why you should choose to chase self. I reserved over there in max platinum before we get into the video. If you think you're gon na, like this video, if you like to you, know the content today, give me a thumbs up and make sure you subscribe to the channel once we get to 5000 subs we'll be doing some more Amazon giftcard ways. Let's get right into this video where one is, if you want more flexibility on your everyday spending, as we both know the AMEX platinum card on it gives you 1 point per dollar when it comes to any other purchases.
The chaise fi reserve gives you 3 points per dollar on travel and dining. So if you want that extra cushion to be able to pull this card out and get the best bang for your buck, you definitely wan na be using this yourself. I reserved especially for dining dining is such a crucial part of our lives, whether it's healthy, unhealthy vacation, not vacation, work whatever. It is 3 points per dollar, so you definitely want to be choosing chaise in that instant number 2.
Is the flexibility on travel credits? The American Express Platinum Card gives you travel credits, but they really put a restriction on it by restricting you to a certain airline and also uber, and then on top of that you can only use the uber credits and increments of $ 50 a month. The Chase Sapphire Reserve card gives you a travel credit of three hundred dollars which you can use for whatever you want taxi uber letters, anything you could possibly think of as tolls, whatever you can think of $ 300 that you can use whenever you want to, and, However, you want to there's no restriction on it and as long as you use it within that year, you are good to go, so you can go ahead and restrict yourself to twenty dollars a month. If you want to - or you can just blow it all - to really maximize an annual fee right from the get-go but $ 300 and travel credit, which is really awesome, I love the flexibility. So if you're somebody who's like that as well, if you're definitely want to be choosing to chase that fire reserve over Amex platinum number, three is really important.
If visa is accepted more where you live and nine times out of ten visa is accepted more where you live. I just came back from the Bahamas last week and a lot of places do not accept American Express now, that's all I had in my wallet. If I didn't have a Visa card, just in general, I will be stuck. Visa is better because they charge lower transaction fees for small businesses, especially ones overseas.
So every somebody who wants that peace of mind and that comfort to know my cards are gon na be accepted everywhere. You really want to be carrying around a Visa card and why not carry around one best visa cards right now for travel to chase fi reserve car, definitely a good card to have, and again it is backed by visa accepted everywhere like I'm. It really is the American Express again they charge more merchant processing fees to these smaller businesses that probably just can't afford or don't want to take on that extra money when they can have a visa right, so definitely go and want that peace of mind chase FF Reserve number four is if you want better transfer options, so the Chase, Sapphire Reserve card of my opinion has the better of the transfer options, even though it has less world of high. It is so valuable and so awesome and all the chase Ultimate Rewards go from a one to one ratio, so you have to worry about losing any value or anything of that nature. And to me, it's more US market, dominant versus American, Express to me it's kind of more unless it's Delta, you travel adults a lot but northerner there. It's more international based on my opinion, so world of high and American Express does not have and I'm kind of jealous about it. So if you want more of a US dominant and the more US dominant, you know, portfolio of you know exchanging as far as points go, definitely want to be choosing it's a sapphire reserve and in that world of Hyatt is just so awesome. American Express doesn't have a one-to-one ratio from AMX membership reward points over the water pipe as opposed to the chase.
F, our reserve court. It actually does so. You definitely want to be using it chase. Our reserve karna instance.
Number five is going to be the budgeting of the annual fee. This one is pretty straight for the Amex platinum card comes in with a whopping five hundred and fifty dollar annual fee chase up our reserve card four hundred and fifty dollars. There is somebody who wants to travel but also likes to be on a budget and save money, guys these cards for both top tier cards. So you're not really like it's kind of like apples to arms.
We start Apple like red apple, green apple, gotcha, they're, really the same, and it's in the instance but they're kind of different. So if you're going to go ahead - and you know you want to save some money, go ahead and get to tell yourself our reserve Clark, you're still gon na have a very powerful travel card and you're gon na be saving 100 hours every year. So if you're, somebody who likes to have an annual fee but doesn't hi 450 is better than 550 number 6 is going to be simplicity over luxury. So to me, in my opinion, the Chase Sapphire Resort is more for the simple traveler.
The MX platinum card is more for so my new life that luxury filled that when upgrades they want statuses, they want extra options and things of that nature. If you're somebody who just likes to get there from A to B, then you don't really have any type of interest in being a habit having luxury like marriott, go to satisfy and go to status. You just want to get there or you book things do like third-party applications like Priceline and things of that nature to kind of really save money. If you're on a budget choose to chase off our reserve car, I'm more of a, I can be simple at times, depending on a situation, but I also have to turn it on and have luxury. So that's why I'm hey max platinum, but if you're somebody who's a simple traveler, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card is that for you, so everybody that is my video on why I would say: choose to Chase Sapphire Reserve card over the Amex platinum card. Let me know what you think give me some other ideas, some more options as to why you would choose Chase, I'm going to be rolling out a video. Why you should choose a makes platinum over taste that by reserve you know I had to so you guys. Let me know what you think and are you team, Amex team chase, or are you both to really maximize your travel experiences? If you like this video, if you like this content, give me a thumbs up and make sure you subscribe thanks so much for tuning in and I'll see you in the next video.
If you dont have the card dont talk about it dummy.
I like Chase, but when it comes to finances I like having alot of options. So, If I had the budget I'd have both!
Thanks. Great video and very helpful for someone like myself, just starting out in the rewards for travel game. I opened of my first Chase card (FU) earlier This year and a AMEX Every Day last week. So, my wife an IR starting a 2 system rewards strategy. I am now at Chase’s….. 3/24 ! Therefore, we decided to go for the CSP in about 6 months to pickup their current 60,000 UR points. Your video has currently helped us with maybe our future decisions once we decide where an upgrade is needed. Thanks
Just a correction – Amex actually lowered their merchant fees and Visa Infinite now charges the highest fees out of all banks.
I had to make sure this one wasn’t a spoof video. Hahaha! Thanks man for giving a fair comparison. I think they both shine in their own regard and if one can afford both then even better. As you know I lean Chase but I do have appreciate for Amex. My scenario is Chase + Amex Gold. It works well for my as Chase covers all travel and Amex covers grocery an dining. I’ve got Hyatt on the Chase side and BA on both Chase and Amex so it’s a win-win for me.
The Platinum does kill the CSR in lounge access…there’s no debating that. If I ever found lounge access to be worth it then I’d take a look at Amex. But, in my experience, the lounges are becoming too crowded now and folks are starting to treat them more and more like a Greyhound bus station with their loud chewing/talking, unruly kids, and snoring (not kidding at all).
Looking forward to the video of why one would choose Amex over Chase….I’m sure it’ll be a good one. Hahahaha. Take it easy man.
Holy😙Amex Batman😳lol
Good video. Valid points…
