Over the past few years, Apple has been developing its upcoming electric vehicle named the Apple Car. Throughout the development, there have been numerous changes that have lead Apple to delay the release. Yet, new information shows that an Apple car is actually coming. In this video, I cover Apple's next huge invention, which is the Apple Car.

Over the past few years, apple has been developing its self-driving vehicle projects, codenames titan. The project is rumored to have over 5 000 engineers working on it, and new leaks are showing that apple was already negotiating with electric vehicle suppliers to create the apple car. In this video, i'm going to go over apple's next huge invention, which is the apple car, welcome to cast hands academy if you're new to the channel. Please consider subscribing for more content like this and let's get right into it before the original iphone was even released.
Apple was already in discussion for the creation of the apple car. In 2010, steve jobs met with the creator of the v vehicle, which is a lightweight petroleum, powered car that used cheaper materials and could sell for just fourteen thousand dollars. Jobs saw massive potential in the v vehicle as a glass fiber vehicle was forty percent lighter than a normal steel made vehicle and costed seventy percent less to produce. Ultimately, jobs decided to focus on the release of the iphone, which we now know is apple's most profitable product after the rise of the iphone apple began.
Looking into the creation of the apple car once again in 2014 apple started projects titan with a vision of bringing a compelling smart car that would be the ultimate mobile device. This would be leaked in february of 2015, when a mysterious van leased to apple was spotted with a camera rig attached to it. Just a few days later, one anonymous apple employee gave a dark warning to elon musk. By stating that projects tyson would quote unquote give tesla a run for its money.
The employee then said that even tesla employees were heading over to apple, because the project was too exciting to pass on a few weeks later: apple hired johann jungworth, the former mercedes-benz research and development executive. Soon, after that, the wall street journal confirmed that apple was not just focusing on creating the self-driving software for cars, but also making an electric vehicle. The article revealed that apple was working on an eevee minivan and that the leader of project titan, steve zadesky, was already given the go-ahead by tim cook. To recruit up to 1 000 employees apple then met with luxury car manufacturers like magnus theater magnus concepts vehicle revealed that apple was looking to create a smooth.
Looking suv, the suv was rumored to have a variety of features. For example, one feature that apple was looking into was silent, motorized doors similar to a minivan sliding doors, but it could be controlled through the user's iphone. Another feature that apple looked into was implementing augmented reality into the displays of the vehicle. However, the craziest feature is the fact that apple is looking to use spherical wheels.
This feature would be similar to what audi revealed in 2004, with its audi rsq concept. Spherical wheels would be an interesting addition to the apple car. At the same time, it would also be quite expensive: goodyear has revealed its concept of spherical tires in 2016, which is during the same time that apple is looking into using spherical tires for the apple car. This leads me to believe that apple will likely partner with goodyear for the apple car. Now, while apple did have some crazy ambitions. There were also many internal problems. Due to some internal issues. Steve zadesky suddenly announced that he would exit project titan.
Former apple executive, bob's mansfield returned from his 2012 retirement to lead project. Titan mansfield shifted project titan's direction to an internal reboot. He laid off dozens of apple employees and shifted to focus the project's titan to creating the self-driving software for the apple car. Instead of building an electric vehicle apple began, focusing on autonomous driving software apple was granted a permit from the california dmv and was spotted testing.
His autonomous driving system with lexus suvs, the testing was spotted in 2017 and, to be honest, the self-driving was quite choppy apple, also leased out a testing site in concord. California, named gomentum stadium, randy iwasaki, the owner of gomentum stadium, stated that we had to sign a non-disclosure agreement with apple. We can't tell you anything other that they've come in and they're interested in addition to gomentum stadium apple is also rumored to be leasing out. A testing site in arizona named route 14.
during this time - apple solidified, a partnership with volkswagen to install its self-driving software into volkswagen. T6. Transporter vans. Now that isn't to say that apple isn't creating its own vehicle, because the company certainly is in august of 2018 new rumors suggested that apple was looking to produce an apple car, ming chi who's been quite reliable, stated that apple would launch an ev as soon as 2023, this was at the same time that doug field, the senior vp of engineering at tesla left tesla to join apple.
Three months later, apple cut 200 employees off of projects titan. This was not surprising, given that doug field was looking to restructure projects titan for the development of the apple car. During this time it was quite obvious that apple was looking to compete against tesla, which caught the eyes of elon musk. So i i wouldn't say you know google's a competitor because they're not a car company, we would compete with somebody perhaps that they licensed technology to, but not to them directly right, apple, um, yeah, that'll, be more direct, that'll, be more direct yeah.
You can tell that by the hiring pattern and yeah that kind of stuff. So what do you, okay, so they're gon na be more direct? How do you assess it? Um i mean i i say like you know, i i think it's great that they're doing this and i um you know. I hope they hope it works out um. I think they should have embarked upon this project sooner actually um. I don't know when they i mean they have. You know they don't share with me the details of their production plans but um. I i i don't think it's going to be. I don't think they'll be in volume production sooner than maybe 2020 that'll be like the soonest.
Now saying that the apple car is a tesla killer, would not be a true statement. Elon musk supports the advent of electric vehicle technology, and actually hopes apple does well, and that's is that too late we say they should have embarked sooner. Is that because 2020 would be too late to stop you or beat you or compete with you or what it's? Just like it's a missed opportunity, it's just a that. They it's it's um it'll be over by 2020.
It's just like it's it's a couple of years. I think they'll they'll, probably make a good car and uh probably be successful. The car industry is very big, so it's not as though there's um, you know one company to the exclusion of others. The car market is large enough for multiple companies to succeed and if apple or some other car manufacturer makes an ev.
That is very compelling. Then elon will be glad that his mission is complete. So if somebody comes makes a better electric car, that than tesla - and it's it's so much better than ours - that we can't sell our cars and and we go bankrupt. I still think that's a good thing for the world, because apple's self-driving project was kept secretive.
It's no surprise that other automakers were attempting to steal trade secrets from apple. In july of 2018, former apple employee, xiao ling zhang admitted to taking two of apple's circuit boards. A linux server and airdropped files from apple's computers. After that theft, another employee was arrested in january of 2019, the employee was caught taking pictures of apple's secret work area that includes manuals diagrams and dramatics the car company.
He was attempting to give these secrets to was x-pang motors, which is a company looking to create compelling self-driving evs. Now apple is afraid that these employees will attempt to leave the us before attending their court trial. We will have to see where these court cases end up going, but right now it's not looking great for apple's former employees in february of 2019. A german report stated that the apple car would be an electric van four months after that, in june of 2019 apple acquired drive.ai, a self-driving startup that was looking to create a self-driving shuttle.
The acquisition of drive.ai and the german report both point to the rumor that the apple car will be an electric van of some sort. Most recently, there have been many leaks pointing to when and what an apple car might look like. Recent reports are showing that apple already has an established factory in the us. A production plan and estimated technology and specs for the apple car apple has even allegedly begun discussions with a global electric vehicle supplier. Additionally, the taiwan semiconductor manufacturing company or tsmc has reported that the apple car deployment has begun. For example, apple has started cooperating with st microelectronics, which may be tied to the production of a self-driving chip for the apple car when it comes to the apple car's design. The supplier has stated that the apple car looks similar to tesla's vehicles. This isn't too surprising, given that apple has hired many tesla engineers, in fact apple hired, the former tesla engineering, vp, steve mcmanus, to be in charge of the interior and exterior of the apple car.
While nobody has the exact specs for the apple car, we can get a decent estimate as to what the apple car specs will. Look like in 2017 apple confirms to be partnering with china's contemporary amphorex technology ltd, the same company that is partnering with tesla to produce a china-made model 3.. This leads me to speculate that the apple car will have a range between 300 and 400 miles on the epa range test. Apple's patents also hint at some unusual designs.
For example, the apple car is speculated to have a sunroof which will likely be a large glass panel. These patents show that this sunroof could be multi-segmented and potentially be taking off through a sliding mechanism. Another interesting feature revealed in a patent is an anti-glare windshield that dams portions of the windshield that have a glare. This would make it so that a portion of the windshield would be blocked and the rest would be transparent.
What's even more interesting is apple's patents on a smart seat belt. You might think that sounds crazy at first, but it could be a helpful feature. For example, imagine changing the music by just tapping a button on your seat belt. This would be convenient if tied with the apple ecosystem.
Additionally, apple may even add illuminated seats. That will tell you how to sit in a position, that's most comfortable or even tell you to buckle your seatbelt. Now. At this point, the apple car either sounds innovative or pointless, yet it gets even crazier than that apple's passenger door.
Patents shows that the apple car may have doors that slide from the outside to inside this one doesn't look so practical to me because of the fact that it would take a large amount of space. But let me know in the comments what you think in order to ramp up the production of the apple car apple has reported that the company will likely acquire or partner with battery suppliers to manufacture self-made batteries, because apple is looking to manufacture the apple car at Scale apple will announce a long list of its suppliers in 2021, ultimately skilled production of the apple cars estimated to happen in 2024 or 2025, which is quite disappointing, given that it was previously estimated to be mass manufactured in 2020 or 2021.. This is likely because of the facts that apple's engineers overestimated the time to not only scale the production of the car, but also develop the self-driving software. Let me know what you think about the apple car. Do you think that apple stands a chance in making a dent in the ev space, or do you think that the apple car will be unsuccessful? Fiberglass boats are way heavier than aluminum, what makes anyone think a fiberglass car will be lighter.
Dont worry tesla when apple make ev's it will cost 10x the price of tesla plus overpriced app upgrades and overpriced toll fees even charging stations, And this is video FAKE NEWS too!
tesla should fear the apple cart but only because its going to get in the way and cause mayhem as its shit like their shit phones
Tesla only has to worry if (a) it thinks it can gain 100% of the EV market (it doesn't even need a very large slice of that market to be a profitable company} or {b} thinks that Apple are going to take 100% of the market. {not going to happen because we don't all live in America}
I think these cars will eventually be just delivering pizzas the iPizza
Hey Siri: "You're Dumbest Thing I've Ever Seen"
*CAR CRASHED TO A TREE*
Apple was i think head of its time..i respect Steve Jobs for his "Values" as his Pillar for building an Empire..yet maYbe just like me..He was mis-understood or dislike for his ideas…
Hi, i dOnt know iF yoUr Spanish or what Race? I mean where coUntry yOu came From..THank you for HelpinG me..
Yeah it comes with NO instructions and total of six charging stations across the country.
Bottom line everyone regrets buying Apple's sucking company
Along comes Elon a good guy who's not only in it for himself
I'm with Tesla on this one!!!
If Apple builds the EV in China like all of their iPhones, you know what that means right? It's a Chinese EV 100%. The question is "Will you get one if they are built and shipped to you from China?" and how much import duty and luxury tax you will be paying not to mention it will probably not qualify for the Fed nor the State rebates? The deck is stacked against the Apple Car!
Scheduled Obsolescence on it is a bitch. After two years it only goes 20 MPH. Even then you have no right to repair it yourself or take it to a dealer of your choosing. Oh and don’t update the IOS.
Apple customers will gravitate towards any product apple begets! In this times we are living in, when you own a brand, the brand owns and possesses your soul. Some of us have soul ties to apple. Anything she cooks is good. That crispy, succulent apple test!
It's the other way around. Apple should fear the Tesla implant that makes phones obsolete.
I don't think Elon was sincere when he said he wouldn't mind if Tesla went bankrupt. He ego would be crushed. He didn't seem that enthused about Apple either.
Just in case you'd like a non-reparable, non-update-able, planned obsolescence car.
You missed the part where Musk said he wants more competition, and that he'll be very happy if Tesla gains 20% of the market. That leaves the other 80% for companies like Apple, Lucid, NIO, XPeng, et al.
They gonna limit the output after 1 year, to make you buy the next one?
They will come up with the most tech advanced car but most expensive. Most people now are looking for affordable ev cars with good range. I think either Hyundai, Kia or Nissan will be the companies to make EV cars more mainstream rather than a status symbol.
Apple car: ugly as hell, AV map like a decade behind tesla…
Tesla: not worried a little
Apple should probably just buy Tesla.
– matches company culture
– myth of the industry disruptor
– Apple has lots of cash on hand
It will get slowed down with an update after 3 years "to counter the batteries aging"
If iphones are already expensive i can already imagine how much this cost..
Nobody fears Apple. They are a parasite, and that's about it. They just suck off old technology and make it pretty, but show up years and years late to the party. Fuck them.
After a few months the car will force you to update the software and things will stop working. They will say it is too old, not as good as the new model. They love spinning that $$$.
If the car looks like the cover of this video, I would suggest the only folks that should be afraid of this car is Yugo
