What's up, everybody welcome back to the channel, so today's video is gon na be why the American Express Platinum Card would be better for you now in the last video we did. I talked about why the Chase Sapphire Reserve is gon na, be better than the American Express Platinum Card. This video I'm doing the exact opposite. Why the American Express Platinum Card is gon na, be better for you, as opposed to Chase Sapphire Reserve card, keep them on guys.

I'm only giving you factual information right now, I'm not using any personal judgments or personal opinions, I'm solely giving you facts on what the cards offer and if this offers this this might be better for you, okay. So, let's get right into this video make sure you like share and subscribe. Let's get into it number one is if you are a luxury traveler, you live. If you love that luxurious lifestyle, if you like to have perks and benefits.

So what I mean by that is, if you like to stay like you know, Lounge is more than just priority pass so like, if you like flexibility with these lounges, our Centurion lounge priority pass things of that nature. If you are a luxury traveler, you will have a lot better time with the American Express Platinum Card. Not only does it gives you, you know, access to Centauri analogies of priority passes are too busy, but you also get upgrades with certain hotels. Hilton gold status marry not go to leave status.

You also good statuses, with renter cars, so like Hertz and things of that nature, so you can actually status match. I did a whole video and hi and literally went from American Express American Express Platinum Card to Hilton gold to Caesar's the hotel diamond, and because of that they gave me a complimentary state and the Atlantis Bahamas. When I just came back from last week, I've only paid two hundred and twenty three dollars for four nights from and everybody anybody who knows about the Atlantis you're spending at least three to four hundred per night on a room. I only spent two hundred and twenty three dollars total and I was just taxes every night so guys, if you're, a luxury travel that you'd like to have status matches and things of that nature.

American Express Platinum Card is better for you only because the Chase Sapphire reserve only gives you access to priority passengers, so they are busy. You have nothing else to go to. You are SOL Oki. We all know what that is, but you're out of luck.

When it comes to any other any Plan B, Plan C anything like that. Out of luck, no hotel, no hotel, I'm statuses, so you're kind of going in at the very bottom it'll upgrade to probably for you, so luxury travelers number. One number two is: if you want a better value for rewards on flights: okay, so the American Express Platinum Card right now and gives you five Amex, remember Civil War points per dollar when you're booking flights directly with the airline or 2nx travel.com. Okay, the checks of our reserve card gives you three points per dollar on travel, but when it comes to flights through the app you're, not you don't even get three points per dollar as opposed to rank and Express you're getting five membership reward points per dollar.
So if you're booking flights through Amex travel, comm or just the airline itself, you definitely want to be using the American Express Platinum Card. There should be no other cards you're using if you want the best value for your airline purchases. Five membership war points per dollar is better than obviously three chase, Auto or world points when you didn't match. So definitely, if you're somebody who wants to get more value for purchase of flights, you definitely want to be choosing the American Express Platinum Card number three.

It's the customer service. Now this one is more and again notice that I was willing to give you really a factual guys to me. This is facts. The customer service from Chase versus American Express from a lot of people now speak to in a deadly basis.

Even my personal experience, my customer service experience with American Express is a lot better than a chase example. If you're just reading something, I don't dispute awesome. But if you're maybe like really not happy with the product - and I know our brother of our American Express Platinum Card, I feel good about my chances of Amex helping me out. So, for example, we were in Philadelphia.

We were at the Reading Terminal, I'm not sure I've ever been there. We got some food and by the time we got in the car and we're already gone, the food just was not. There was not gon na be ordered, but we were such in a rush that we didn't check the food. It was like 25 bucks.

I call it a Mexican had a couple of days ago. This happened I'm at Reading Terminal. They said you know what you know. Typically, disputes take about seven in seven business days right when you're, just screening a charged American Express, say it's: okay, we'll take that charge for you.

That's on us just we'll, go ahead and run you back in 24 bucks - and I was like really you don't have to go through a dispute process. They're like no, it's okay, you know we'll go ahead and take the international problem. I felt amazing. I really feel like you know, you don't want to live life without it, because when you have things like that, American Express ability has your back and and again they're, always very nice and helpful.

The customer service with is spotty you get who you get. You might get somebody good, you might get somebody bad. I've never had any issues with chase as far as disputes, but at the same time I've never just given me money back, I'm guessing up under a certain amount or something like that. So the customer service experience is just so much better with the American Express Platinum course.

So maybe someone who wants that top-notch customer service every time most of the time, 99 % of the time. In my opinion, you want to go ahead and choose to go ahead with the Amex family. Chase's does not give that unfortunately, but if you guys are watching this video chase, you definitely just step it up. Amex keep doing what you're doing and keep finding ways to do better.
So number three is customer service number four is: there are no hard pulls when you are applying for other credit cards and there is no Chase 5:24. So once you are in the ecosystem of American Express, which means, once you have at least one American Express card that they have, but they actually did a hard pull and your credit to see if you where well, you know you know it wouldn't get approved once You apply for any other American Express Platinum Card. You will no longer at this current time, have a hard inquiry they're only doing soft pools, which mean just not affecting your credit score. That is a big big.

Huge win for American Express Platinum Card is just American Express in general, okay, no hard poles and then that's awesome. It's not affecting your credit score, Derek building, a relationship with you. You already have a relationship with them. They trust you.

It's an amazing feeling when you know you can apply it for another AMEX card and I have to worry about your score. Dropping a little bit for a little bit of time as opposed to chase every time you apply, it's gon na be a hard pool and also, if chase, if you've had five or more credit cards in the last 24 months for any credit card company. You will more to likely be declined without doubt and there's no exception American Express, don't they don't have that 5:24 war and I'm you know, I'm hoping the day does not come in and do that because it was really helpful for us and I really appreciate that. So number four no hard pools only saw pools in 24:00 war that was so annoying and our other banks that are really trying to kind of go after that as well like I know I was just recently denied for capital one, because I had too many count To open in 24 months, so American Express again keep going Richard, don't chase, stop being stingy and petty, so number, four, no five Center for rule and no heart increase.

Number five is, if you are a user of uber, slash, uber eats and you have a favorite airline. So what I mean by that is, if you'd like to use uber over lyft or you'd like to use uber eats over like GrubHub or door, or anything like that. Uber obviously gives you you get American Express Platinum Card. You get two hundred dollars per year to use for uber or overeats.

Then you also get two dollars per year to use on a specific airline that you pick for: incidentals baggage, etc. So if you like, a certain airline, let's say, for example, Delta or American Airlines, you're $ 200 a year to use towards maybe food on the plane, incidentals baggage fees, etc. So if you're, a frequent flyer we're sitting here and I'm not to work for you and also uber, is broken in increments of $ 15 a month and then December, you get $ 35 to viewer. Somebody who takes over on a daily basis or over each district off you ought to so you know you got ta, obviously really be really like uber favorite airline and that's gon na be really awesome.
So number five is uber and that airline credits number six is if you are a more frequent traveler now again, in my opinion, to a new fee obviously is 550 as opposed to chases is 450. So if you are a more frequent traveler, you can get more of value out of this card again. Five points per dollar. The Marriott status is the Hilton statuses, and this is who you are.

If you travel more frequently and you're going out of Airport Airport anyone, you know: lounge access, concierge service, rental, car services, rental car, you know upgrades and things of that nature. If you're on more frequent traveler and my opinion, Amex Platinum is going to be better for you, because you're gon na lot more perks and benefits, while you're in there and again, if you're, traveling, more you're, getting five points for valor for travel by plane and things That need yourself to me, in my opinion, if you're a more frequent traveler the American economy better for you so guys. These are my six reasons that still, I think Amex would be better for you. Let me know what you think: are you team, Amex or you can chase you guys know? Maybe if you do, if you don't, I am teamed Amex platinum over the Chase, Sapphire observe card, but again guys whatever card you pick.

These cards are both like right here. My last video, I said green apple, red apple, they are really powerful travel cards and you are lucky to have any of them and your wallet. So let me know what you guys think make sure you would like to share and subscribe to the video. I see you another one.

Take care.

Although AMEX does NOT have the 5/24 Rule, I’m under the impression that you can only have 5 AMEX Credit Cards but can have more than 5 Chase Cards!

I plan to upgrade my CSP to CSR in 2020 and also keep the AMEX Platinum SUB-Card if the MAIN-Card holder keeps it!

Team Amex Platinum! 5x on airfare direct, better lounge access, better customer service, and now trip cancellation insurance for roundtrip flights.

Disputes are for theft charges or incorrect charges. I’m surprised you called about your own mistake. At least you were honest.

Sorry. Late to this one…been traveling for work. Another good one. As you know I’m Team Chase…could be Amex if they ever decide to change a few things. Here are my reasons why Chase is still winning at this one in a sense.

I know Amex has Centurion Lounges…but there are currently only 8 in the US which leaves soo many folks who may have a Platinum card with little to no chance of experiencing the lounge unless they fly to very elite heavy locations. And as I’ve mentioned many times with elite heavy cities, the service just doesn’t match. They’re crowded…ALWAYS, hence the reason that Amex has instituted the limit of 3 hours on departures and no use at all on arrivals.

Second points, yes, Amex is adding travel protection and that is a HUGE win for their customers. My issue with that is that there are MANY times when I’ll take an award flight out and pay coming back or vice versa. What sucks with Amex’s new travel protection is that in order for me to take advantage of their I need to book a round trip itinerary with their card. So that’s not a win for me where as with Chase I can book however I want and still get protection even if only paying for the taxes and fee on an award flight.

To address the point situation, 5x from booking directly with the Platinum is great but my issue with that is AmexTravel isn’t always the cheapest. With Chase I can book with anyone, direct or with OTAs such as Expedia, Travelocity, etc and still get the same earning rate as if I were booking direct whereas that isn’t the case with Amex. With Amex it’s either direct or via their travel portal.

Platinum Rental card upgrades are nice…but what would be nicer is if I didn’t have to worry about protecting myself. Amex offers primary coverage but one must pay each time they use it and you have to subscribe to even get that. With the CSR, CSP, and even my Ritz Carlton, I get primary coverage on my rentals. While an upgrade is nice, I’ll take primary coverage over a small bump from a Ford Fusion to a Nissan Altima any day of the week.

Uber is a plus on the Amex Platinum but only really useful in my opinion is for the rides. If you’re using Uber Eats then you’re losing at least 30-40% of your monthly credit just to the fees associated with it. Not to mention the food isn’t that hot once it arrives because it loses too much of it’s quality in the time it takes the driver to get it to you. I guess if Jimmy John’s or something to the sort offered it then it wouldn’t matter as the food isn’t supposed to be hot anyway.

The 5/24 argument. Yep, I can agree that it’s absolutely annoying to have to deal with. But here’s why I still prefer Chase to Amex. At least with Chase you can have the opportunity to get the bonus again even if it means waiting it out whereas with Amex it’s one in a lifetime no matter what. So while both are really annoying, if time is all it takes to reset with Chase versus never having an opportunity again with Amex then it’s a no brained that Chase wins for me in that regard.

Here’s why i will give the upper hand to Amex. Their customer service is top notch. I’ve never had an issue go unresolved…not that I’ve had many, but still, it’s nice to be able to hop on chat and get something done whereas Chase’s system seems dated and makes me feel like I’m back in the days of America Online (yes, before they rebranded themselves as AOL…hahahaha!). And also not having to take a HP every time you app is indeed a plus.

So yea, there are perks to each system and I will agree that if you’re looking for lounge access (if that means anything) then Amex Platinum is a better choice. Although there is an argument that would be made about Chase and even Citi being better as you can still access Priority Pass Restaurants with their version whereas with Amex you can’t.

Like you mentioned, one has to take the time to see what they value the most and decide…and if their pockets run deep enough, then have both so that you get the best of both worlds. Another perk I will add to Amex Platinum that I don’t believe you mentioned is that it’s access to the Delta lounges as long as you hold the Platinum and fly Delta is a HUGE win for me as I think the Delta lounges are MUCH better than Centurion in my opinion. If you fly Delta enough then this perk can more than make up for the annual fee.

Lastly…another hat tip to Amex Platinum or Amex as a whole is their Amex Offers. They absolutely kill Chase with this as Chase only offers that same crap that can be hand on a basic debit card from PNC or Bank of America.

So there are perks to both. I rock the Amex Gold and will continue as well as the BBP, Bonvoy Brilliant, and Bonvoy Business cards from Amex. But when it comes to traveling…my CSR or Ritz Carlton as they’re both Visa Infinite cards are going to be the one that I choose to get the job done…especially with the unlimited $100 airline discount on domestic flights when booking for at least 2 via the Ritz Carlton benefit…that there is a slam dunk all day long.

Keep makin’ them man and I’ll continue to show up for ‘em. Until the next one….

Another reason some may or may not find valuable – Chase does not give retention offers for their Sapphire cards. I think they are still bleeding money from that 100k signup when they launched the card a few years back and are still trying to recover. Amex on the other hand is very generous with the personal Platinum retention offers. Its harder/non-existent on co-branded Platinum cards like the Schwab and Ameriprise. I personally got a 35k MR for 4k spend within 3 months if I decided to renew my annual fee after a quick 2 minute call with their retention department.

I was team CHASE until last week now I am team Amex. CHASE did a financial review of me and it pissed me off because I’ve been doing business with them for over 17 years. They got all the documents from me and everything was fine. My business checking account is with them, personal checking account, Chase Sapphire reserve, ink business cash, ink business preferred, Chase freedom and the new IHG® credit card. American Express definitely has better customer service and they stand by you. What I also love is once you have a credit card with Amex there is no more hard pulls but CHASE does a hard pull with two different credit bureaus every time you apply for a credit card and that is insane. I have a Amex gold business and the BBP credit card with them. I’m going to chill out for about a year and then apply for the AMEX platinum card but will keep my CSR card because I really do love it.

Amex lowered my spending power even though I have paid my balances on time. Chase all the way. I can spend a little bit more time on the phone dealing with customer service then to have my balance decrease when I’m making my payments on time and my credit is over 700 good.

I think Amex's Tyson knockout to the credit card world would be universal airline credits rather than choosing one airline for the year. They added the trip delay and cancellation to select cards (starting next year)which I thought made Chase wobble at the knee's, lol. I'm way over 5/24 so I have to trash Chase a little bit.
