So american express is planning on making some big changes to the american express platinum card and this car being my favorite credit card. I had to talk about it. This is just rumors right now, but it is from a pretty valuable source, um and pretty reliable search as well. So i want to get into this video.

I want to know your thoughts and i'm definitely going to give you my thoughts, because this is going to change some things if this actually is true, so let's get right into this video alright, so i made a bunch of videos on why i believe american express Platinum card is the best travel credit card travel charge card, whatever you want to call it since 2019 and still and during the pandemic. It really showed its flexibility. American express really showed how they were doing their best during the pandemic and while we're still in it to make it more useful for people who weren't traveling so definitely one of my favorite cards of all time. But there is rumor to be a lot of changes.

Coming up for existing card holders and new car holders within the next coming months, up until the beginning of 2022, with one of the biggest things being the annual fee, and this is something that we've heard from a bunch of different sources for a bunch of months. Now it's been, it's been a few months, we've heard of 695 700.. This article is going to be based on an article. I saw a few days ago from one mile at a time.com.

So as far as the article i'm showing you all credits go to them. Um so the first thing that i'm going to be changing is the annual fee, so the annual fee is expected to change for new car members july of 2021 so next month. So if you apply for this car starting next month, you will probably see a change of 6.95, so you will be the testers. You will be the ones who try it out first and then for existing card members.

It will start january of 2022, which is a good thing. So what that pretty much means. Let's say if you are existing card member right now and it's september of 2021 you'll probably still pay your 550 annual fee. Here's what the rumored changes are for the american express platinum cards, i'm just going to go down the list.

It's on this article, so the first thing we have is a 300 annual uh equinox credit for those of you who do not know what an equinox equinox is. It is a membership. It's a gym membership! It's a pretty nice boot, very nice boozy gym. Now.

The only issue with this gym um is well here's the biggest issue. It's not located near most people unless you live in those big areas, so they have one. I know in boston, chicago new york, north jersey. They have two locations in north jersey, none of which i live by washington dc.

I don't live by so to give everybody like, let's say, for people who live in atlanta that have the platinum card, people who live in uh, south jersey, people who live in philadelphia. Such as myself, were we gon na travel to new york or or north jersey or washington, dc or or chicago to use this. So this is why you know i'm still saying it's rumored to be, because you really can't make this a credit for everybody, knowing that this gym only has about 106 locations. I believe worldwide.

That's a very small amount of locations and there are way more american express platinum users in those smaller scale, cities, um or even a place like again, like i said atlanta, it's not really smaller scale. It's just not a it's, not a gym there. So you really can't force that upon us because we're losing 300 of value off the rip. The second change is going to be a 240 annual entertainment credit and that's broken down as a 20 month, credit towards magazine and news subscriptions, video streaming services, audio and music.

So pretty much you get 20 a month towards things like maybe netflix, hulu, sling, apple, music, whatever you use for your monthly music credits. I don't know anybody who does monthly magazine anything anymore, but more than likely like for me it would go towards netflix and hulu and apple music, but it'll really only go towards one of those things, because one of them are almost about twenty dollars right. So you'll get that every month kind of taken care of for you up to 240 dollars per year, which is good. You get a 200 annual credit for prepaid hotel bookings through amex travel.

That's pretty dope um. I think this is going to be replacing the airline credit. Obviously, that's pretty good that we get that um because they gave it to us last year, just for one year during the pandemic, and it was amazing credit to have a 179 dollar annual, clear credit, which is enough for an annual clear membership. And this could potentially place a tsa pre-check and we're going to get into that in a second global dining access with uh resi and a possible temporary perk available, 100 resi or easy credit based off of what my one amount of the time is saying.

The 200 annual the annual airline fee credit - this could be cut and, like i said, i think it will be cut and i think it's going to replace it with the 200 uh hotel credit to prepaid hotel, um booking through mxtravel.com. I think it may replace that the dollar annual uber credit should still stay there. The one hundred dollar sacks sex with avenue credit's still going to be there and it's almost time again to use it again and the satori lounge access, delta sky access, priority pass all that'll say there and then the 5x membership reward points for airfare and prepaid hotel Purchases: here's how i feel 700 and i'm losing 300 of that off the get-go, because i don't and i will never go to an equinox gym. Even if it was around i'm probably not going to spend much money on the gym i'll go to planet fitness i'll! Go to la fitness and spend a fraction of the money and just work on myself, um, i'm still gon na get the same results um.

So i don't know i i i don't think that's a good thing to do. If that is the truth, now keep in mind guys this is just rumors, but if that is the truth, this is going to be bad for so many people and i think a lot of business is going to be lost. Um, the 240 annual entertainment credit, okay um, though you know, i know we were in the pandemic like really heavy, and now things are kind of starting to open up, even though we're still in one the 240 entertainment credit. Now i don't know about it, i really don't know about it unless they're looking to maybe make the platinum card more, so family oriented more so lifestyle, and then they maybe have another credit card coming, maybe in between the platinum and this maybe like in between the Centaurian and the platinum to make that a fully loaded travel card.

Maybe that's why they're going this route? I just don't know, but i don't see this being considered like a top tier travel card anymore, with a lot of these lifestyle benefits with the entertainment and the equinox it's kind of taking its focus away. As far as the clear credit that's great, but we already have a clear credit with the amex green card that does just fine for me and you taking away tsa pre-check. To give me clear, is bad. Here's why you have a few airports, especially the most famous airport, the airport, that everybody has layover in most of the time, hartsfield jackson in atlanta, that is the most popular airport for a layover.

They have three different lines now they have four different lines and i'll explain them to you right now. This is the general board in line this is the line you never want to go in. If you had a flight that took off in an hour from then you would still be in that line, probably two hours later, that line right there and make sure you follow me on instagram to you know, see my stories. That line was in the food court area.

It's ridiculous you'd never want to be in general, boredom, okay! So that's why you want either tsa pre-tech or clear, but for those airports like atlanta, they don't have this in philly um they have general boarding, which is where you do not ever want to be, especially not in atlanta right now with everybody traveling again. Never then you have the tsa pre-check line. If you have tsa pre-check you take that, then you have the clear line, which is the third line. So if you have clear, but you don't have tsa pre-check you get on that one and the difference between tsa pre-checking clear is clear.

You still have to take things out of your bag in atlanta in atlanta. You still got to take your laptops out of your bag. You may have to still take things out of your bag, so that's the difference and that clear line is typically still lengthy. Tsa pre-check line is getting lengthy as well, but then you have like this ultimate travel hack at number.

Four, it's tsa and clear combination um. So it's another separate line if you have tsa pre-check and clear, and the benefits of that is one people are rarely in that line. It's quick and you don't have to take things out of your bag, like a laptop this that don't have to take your shoes off. This is this is unique because i've only seen it in the atlanta airport, but that's a very common airport that i go in and out of so me having that tsa pre-check, clear combo from american express works out magically for me, so to take that tsa pre-tech Away just to be clear: it's not going to be good so to round it up guys in all actuality.

If they take away tsa pre-track and get me clear, they force me to get an equinox membership and then they want to give me entertainment, probably going to cancel this card and it sucks to say that. But business is business on both sides. So it's business for them and it's going to be business for me. Don't really care about my feelings and emotions towards it.

You are the best as long as you continue to be the best for me in my pocket. If you're starting to become a liability to me, you got to go so this card. If it becomes that - and these things are true - they got ta go, and hopefully, if this is the case where i have to cancel this card i'll, give it another year, because i'm still gon na put my 550 annual fee. I'm gon na wait another year and i better see another card that comes out.

That is better than what they're giving to us right now. A fully loaded travel car. Because that's what i do. I don't care about lifestyle cars like that, so i need tsa pre-tracking global entry.

I need something i need a some type of delta status or america airline status or something, if you're going to make me pay more than 700. If that's, maybe what they're going to to make another kind of like hybrid travel car, that's kind of like in the middle, so we shall see guys. What are your opinions on this?
