American express just gave me the easiest retention offer that i've ever had on an american express card or just any card just in general. Today i want to talk about that easy retention bonus and it came from one of my favorite amx cards to use amx green card. So let's jump right into the video make sure you are subscribed. I was so happy um. I have haven't tried with the amex green card. I was literally just driving home and i was like i want some more.

You know. I just want to see like how i can maximize the value of this card, and i know this card may be harder for people, especially people who aren't traveling right now you get the lounge buddy credit, you get the clear credit, but if you're not really traveling, Though you get 3x on certain things like you know, you're not traveling right now, due to some things so kind of hard to justify the 150 annual fee. So i was like, let me call amex and just uh. You know that retention offer.

I never called them about one before on a green card. Let's see if it works, so they transferred me over to member services. I told them about the uh. You know i have the platinum card.

I get most of my travel benefits from the platinum card. I don't really need to lounge uh credits, because i get lounge access with the platinum card and all the other statuses. It gives me 5x on flights, five on the prepaid, uh, hotels and stuff. So all that good stuff - and the first thing they're gon na do - is they're gon na try to sell you on the car.

So the first thing you want to do call up the amex just tell them. You know you may not be sure of the value of the card or you may be contemplating it or thinking of other options. The first thing they're going to do is try to sell you the card once they transfer you over to member services. So that's what happened.

They gave me the whole spell on the 3x for this, and you know the platinum card may give you 5x on prepaid hotels, but for things like you know, booking.com or expedia.com, it doesn't really give much value. That's why you should get both of them or keep both of them, etc. So they will give you those benefits and those perks, and i guess, depending on the personality, they'll kind of see, if that works, without giving you the bonus or not. For me, this one was so much easier with this person again, i know what i was doing in the beginning of the phone call, but i like to milk it i like to play student and let them kind of put themselves in that teacher role to kind Of get them to give me what i'm actually calling for, which is just some some membership reward points for keeping the card.

I kind of played student and uh. She informed me what was going on and she gave me an easy offer. She said you got two options. You can take a 120 statement, credit after spending a thousand dollars in three months, which is not a good value at all.

Not for three months i mean, though it is easy, only a hundred and twenty dollars, it's kind of low or we'll give you a hundred or we'll give you sorry. Fifteen thousand amex membership reward points right now, just for saying yes, you'll keep the card. Obviously, that's a no-brainer for two reasons: one it's not going to take possibly up to three months if i needed it to um and then two it gives you more value. So, at least at one cent per point: i'm getting 150 of value from 15 000 as opposed to 120.

I am now losing 30 and i am sure, if i'm using it for travel, which i will be i'll, get more than uh one cent per point. I'm already looking at flights right now in delta to nassau bahamas. One way the tickets are about 250 or 10 000 miles, so there we go at that point. I can take those 15 000 amex points transfer about maybe 11 000 over to the delta portal, and there i go.

I just you know, and i still have 4 000 mrp left and i you know i also almost doubled the amount of value that i got for the points with all this amex talk in regards to my retention offer and my membership reward points. Sometimes i'm not going to lie to you. It does get a little bit hectic and or overwhelming, especially when i'm really trying to plan for like a really nice trip. I got 15 000 of them and i was able to give myself a one-way um that costs about 250 and i got it for technically 100 dollars.
