What's up everybody welcome back to this channel, so in my previous video I told you guys I was going to be doing a follow-up video in regards to the American Express uber changes and kind of giving you my prediction on what they're going to be changing next, As far as just American Express when it comes to the Platinum Card, specifically really just a platinum car income and my ideas, so let's go run into this video. And let me know what you guys think. As far as where your predictions are going to be again. Use all predictions, so I don't have any inside scoop, but I think this is a really good prediction.

So let's get right into the video all right. So my prediction, as far as what they're going to be doing next, is going to be really attacking that $ 200 airline credit. Now what I will say being realistic from American Express's standpoint, I will be realistic when they change things. They kind of still show you how they like to have control over things so, for example, the uber credit again they've, given it to you automatically, but they store it you to have any increments of 15 a month.

So I think when it comes to the travel credit, you still have to choose an airline for that year, but I personally think it's gon na be really comparable to chase it's gon na be more so airline because I think American Express likes to have control and I would say personally, you know I'm not, I don't. I don't really frown upon that. I mean I'm not upset about that, so they may want to have some control. You know they're gon na make you use it for air Ally purchases.

I think it's going to be solely on the airline. Let you pick for that year. So just the same way, we do it now you got to pick your airline for that month. I'm probably gon na be doing Delta.

At this point, I'm kind of going on a delta size for some personal reasons, but yeah Delta for sure and they're gon na make you pick what every airline is but they're going to. Let you use that credit for whatever, so that can be checked bags that can be flight booking gift card, whatever it is as long as it comes up under Delta, or something like that, I really think they're gon na attack it next. No, why do I think that not just because I pulled it out of a head and said: oh, I really think they're really trying to compete with the chase car. Now there are a lot of other high tiered cars.

High annual fee cards out there, but I think, realistically speaking, Chase Sapphire Reserve is the car that is American. Express Platinum is competitor as far as the benefits, the perks, the popularity big, the banks are the membership reward points and how valuable they are versus the chase. Also, our world points they're really highly compatible competitive as well. So keep it.

Keep that in mind. I think Chase is gon na, be the one that they're gon na really try to you know take take over. You know think about it. As far as the travel protection you know, American Express is always known for not having travel protection and now starting in January, they will so, I think, they're really going to be attacking.
Maybe within the next year, we're probably gon na see a change of this airline. Credit now I definitely hope this is that the truth, because if they do so, this is gon na be awesome, because you know we used to have to do a loophole to buy gift cards to really benefit from this. So they just give it to us like how it was already really like we were using it anyway. I think it's gon na be really awesome and customer experience and it bring more customers to American Express and pull more customers from Chase or it make cheese.

Customers get their max platinum, car too, and also the you know. The Amex goals, just AMX Gold Card, gives you a hundred dollars a year and as opposed to two hundred and airline credits, so I think it'll really pull more customers and Amex, which ultimately that's Fame X, is aiming for. You know more customers the better. So let me know what you guys think about that.

What are your predictions? What do you think American Express is going to change? What do you think they're going to maybe take away? I've noticed sometimes when they give you something to take away something so yeah they gave us. You know trip delay, but they took away roadside assistance. So what do you think they're gon na take away? Now? I haven't really thought too much as opposed I'm going to take away. Hopefully they don't take anything away.

I didn't want to speak anything until you distance as far as negative, but what do you guys think I'm gon na take away? Also, if you guys want to apply for the MX, platinum, car gold card or any American Express card, my referral link is in the description of this video. Amex will be changing their Uber credits similar to that of their Saks on Fifth Avenue credit. $100 for the first six months. $100 for the second six months. With this credit, everytime you use either Uber or Uber eats, you account will be credited up to the $100. So between Jan 1st and June 30th, you have that six months to use it as you see fit. Anything left over WILL NOT BE rolled over into the second six months. So you'll use it, or lose it.

It would be great if Amex made the airline incidental fee credit a straight up airline credit, but they won't… they would lose too much money. Right now they can market the card with the incidental fee credit knowing most customers won't use the full value. Amex relies on a certain percentage of customers to never use the Platinum credits… it's baked into the business model for that product and it's how they keep it profitable for them

I think at this point, the American Express versus Chase argument, is about the same as iPhone versus Samsung. Most people have already settled into their own ecosystem. And it’s going to take a lot more than a benefit here or there to sway them at this point.

There will be new folks and maybe some older who can be swayed, but most of us who have been at this for a while have already gained points from both cards is we were bonus chasing. We have made our decision on if we are going to be Team Amex or Team Chase.

Neither is not offering anything new that can’t be had with the other so while the added benefit is nice, you’re really not offering chase customers anything more than they’ve already had and vice versa.

Just like an iPhone user will give you a million reasons why they won’t switch and Apple is better than a Samsung, the same thing with Chase and Amex when in reality other than a few small details, both will give you just about the same experience…with the obvious difference is one will be you a better lounge experience if you’re in the right place and the other will charge you a $100 bucks annually for their card.

The should make the gold card at $95 dollar annual fee more comparable to the sapphire preferred.

If I were running Amex I would simply remove the want or need of their customers to use another card. Get rid of the airline credits altogether. There are some ppl that don’t fly so why alienate them? Add primary car rental coverage. Allow category spend on direct hotel purchases especially Marriott and Hilton since they provide status with them. Same could be said for car rentals. Remove 3x on airfare with the gold card, worthless benefit if you have the platinum as well. I would also like to see a free guest into Delta SkyClubs when flying Delta. Maybe set a limit that it can only be used so many times per year.

If this is the case, why did they go through so much trouble to stop the gift card hack that was available before. Is there some reason for this prediction ?

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars hip2dadip says:

I was initially a big fan of Amex but now that I have several cards and have experience with the brand, my position is shifting. 💳😒

Do you have to book the flight on your Amex to use the airline credit?
