When it comes to choosing your trading community, it’s essential to choose wisely. Most chat rooms and ‘gurus’ have no idea what they’re talking about. So always vet anyone you want to learn from.
In chat rooms, if you don’t know the members well, take all advice with a grain of salt. Focus on learning from traders who are currently successful. Be sure to look for those traders who are transparent about how they’ve found trading consistency. They can often help pave the road and offer smarter direction.
But remember, this is YOUR journey. And it’s a marathon, not a sprint! The goal is to learn from others and refine your own strategy and process.
Find someone who you resonate with. Learn from their strategies and consistency. Get familiar with all of it, then work to see if it fits with your trading style and your personality. Study their videos, reach out and ask questions, and see if you can build a connection with them.
You won’t like every trader’s approach. That’s OK. Every trader has their own strategy, risk tolerance, and personality. It’s smart to see what’s out there and find what works best for you.
Take bits and pieces from those you’re comfortable learning from, use it as a foundation, and start building. This can help you find your niche in the markets. As you develop, this is essential.
Yes, money is a goal in this journey, but most successful traders enjoy the journey itself. This isn’t just a hobby, it’s a potential career. And it won’t happen overnight.
Keep your mindset focused on the long term. Understand that every trade, hour, and day all bring more opportunities to improve. That never ends, even as a consistent trader.
Strive to learn and improve every day!
