A Reminder to Recover | Mindset Monday
Premier athletes perform at the top of their game for six, seven months, max... and then they get an entire “off-season” to rebuild and recover. A businessperson like yourself doesn’t get that luxury, so it’s up to you to make a conscious effort to let your body recover. Burnout is real my friend, and if you don’t stop to recharge your energy, your health, and your focus every once in a while, you’re definitely not performing at the top of your game. Even the best of the best they get an off season. Well in business, we don't get an off season. We go 24, 7 monday through friday, whatever it is, i know it's monday, but i got to ask you: how do you recover? I just came out of four days in las vegas, several thousand of my clients on and offline, and i know how much energy i put into my business. I know much energy you put into your business, whether it's eight hours a day or twelve hours a day or more.
We go and we go and we go and we go, but guess what sometimes you got to stop and recover. So i know you're hearing this on monday. Maybe you need to think about this weekend. What do you need to do to get your energy right? Your health right voice right right, make sure you get properly hydrated, so you can go out and perform at your optimal.
I spend some time with my buddy tim grover. You probably know him as the author of winning and relentless trainer of michael jordan, kobe bryant, dwayne wade and so many others, and we were talking about the fact that even the best of the best they get an off season well in business, we don't get an Off season, we go 24, 7 monday through friday, whatever it is, you know 365 days a year, but we got to give ourselves some rest. We got to start tracking and measuring what do i put in my body that gives me optimum energy? What do i do? The night before that gives me optimum energy. What do i do throughout the day that makes me feel light and energetic and focused and ready to go out and solve problems versus? What do i do that? Maybe stops me think about that and think about how you might get a little more rest, because guess what the real estate market's going to be bananas for the next 24 to 48 months.
So we're going to be going hard charging serving helping a lot of people making a lot of money, but i don't want you to grind so hard that you turn the dust you.
