What's up, everybody welcome back to the channel, so some american express news that is taking place october 1st, which is today uh if you're watching this video october 1st 2021, some changes with the american express green card and the payover time limit. This is very important of people who have the mx green card. So let's get right into this video all right. Everybody welcome back to the channel i'll talk about credit and travel and how to maintain, build and rebuild your credit, so make sure you subscribe to the channel.

A lot of people know that american express is one of my favorite, if not my favorite credit card company out there as of right now and um. A lot of changes have happened last year and this year, probably the biggest with the platinum card this year.

With all the new credits and a lot of the feedback good and bad, now we have a change with the american express green card this year and it starts with the payover time more and more as this card goes um we are noticing from forums and just From um emails from american express that the green card is becoming more of a credit card than anything we just got noticed from american express. I actually got an email because i have the green card and i am enrolled in pay over time, because at that time they were giving you membership reward points if you enrolled, so i enrolled for that reason um. So i just got an email about two days ago from american express with this verbiage right here. So it says start on october, 1st 2021.

If your payover time setting is set to active all eligible charges, regardless of dollar amount, will be automatically added to your pay overtime, balance up to your pay overtime limit when your bill is due, you can choose to pay your account total new balance in full each Month, the minimum payment due or any amount in between, if you do not pay your account, total new balance or if you have a plan, balance your adjusted balance on your billing statement in full by your payment due date. Each month, interest will be charged starting from the date. Each eligible charge is added to your payover time balance until the date it is paid pretty much. It is very similar to a credit card.

We will give you the option to pay it in full. If you want to, but if you don't want to it, is okay. Prior to october 1st, i believe the threshold was eligible charges, a hundred dollars or more for it to roll limited roll into pay over time. Now it is any dollar amount which is different.

So what this shows me more and more and more is that this card, and possibly even the other two charge cards, will eventually become more of a credit card than a charge card. I personally like the charge card option. It keeps me um in check with paying it in full. It saves me interest and things of that nature, but i do understand some people would definitely love to have the flexibility of payover time and not just being over a hundred dollars, because not every transaction is over a hundred bucks um.

So this is a new uh change. That's happening uh october 1st, so it is happening today. You have to make sure you are enrolled in the service um to get it going and yeah. That's it and more than likely, it's any charge, starting today, october 1st.

So if you had charges last month, they're probably going to go with the same rules from last month when you start making charges today - and you know after that will be the under 100 or any dollar amount. You can start. So my question to you guys is: what do you guys think about this? This is a big change. This is a new change and with change comes goods and negatives and good feedback, bad feedback.
