Over the past few years, tesla has shown the world that electric vehicles of the future the companies effectively forced all the other automakers to transition to evs or die off. However, tesla's mission goes beyond electric vehicles, and it just happens that tesla's sleeping giant is suddenly waking up behind people's eyes in this video i will cover what tesla's giant is and how the development of this product line has been exploding. Welcome to cass games academy if you're new to the channel, please consider subscribing for more content like this and let's get right into it. Elon musk has been making some bold claims lately about tesla's future projections and by that i'm talking about tesla's energy division.

We've seen many tesla investors talk about how tesla isn't a car company and that tesla energy is going to dominate, but it wasn't until recently when we saw these claims coming to fruition. This will happen from the fast-paced growth of the solar sector, which is estimated to grow 20.5 every year over the next six years. Now, to start with in tesla's latest earnings call. Elo must claim that tesla will become the market leader in solar installations.

We're actually seeing tremendous growth in solar a quarter of a quarter. Last year and um we had uh our best quarters deciding 2018 in q4, so we do actually expect to become the market leader in solar and and then go far beyond that. Um, it's uh. You know, unfortunately, there were a few years there, where we we had to devote the whole company to uh model 3 production, um and uh yeah and you're building it.

We have to basically take the whole company flush people that were on solar and have worked on cars, but now uh, we've now developed full bandwidth, we're putting a lot of attention on solar and it is growing rapidly. So i think it will not be long before tesla is by far the market leader in solar. That's right: elon musk said that tesla will become the market leader in solar and also go beyond that. Elon musk makes a lot of ambitious projections, but this one in particular stands out because of the convincing data that backs this up.

As some of you already know, from 2017 to 2019, tesla struggled to ramp up the model 3. according to elon musk himself. Tesla was only a few weeks away from bankruptcy during the model 3 ramp up and in order to keep the company alive, elon had to work 22 hours per day. How close to death? Did you come we're within single budget weeks, 22 hours a day or like what? How many hours working yeah so seven days a week sleeping in the factory uh i worked everywhere from i worked in the oaks in the paint shop general assembly body shop.

It was also during this time that elon musk had to shift solar city workers to tesla, and this was in order for tesla to meet its production goals because of this shift in focus. Tesla's, solar division struggled to grow in the past couple of years, as we can see in this graph. Tesla's model 3 ramp up actually caused tesla's solar division to go from the largest solar installer to the third largest solar installer. Nevertheless, tesla is now going head on with his solo division and, as elon mentioned, is aiming to take back its lead in solar.
There have been many developments going on lately that make elon musk confident about tesla's future and could bring shareholders massive returns in value. Another component that has been making huge strides lately is tesla's energy storage division, which is primarily powered by the tesla mega pack, which is a huge battery pack that utility companies use to store and resell energy. Most recently, on march 8th, it was announced that tesla was behind a big secret battery project in engleton texas, a city that is 40 miles away from houston texas in this city, tesla is quietly deploying over 100 megawatt hours of energy storage. 100 megawatt hours is an absolutely huge number and is enough energy to power 20 000 homes in the summer.

Each megawatt hour costs roughly 300 000, so that puts a total project. At 30 million this new mega pack deployment came into fruition after texas got hit by a bitter winter storm that led to many rolling blackouts. The mega pack fixes this by storing energy for potential natural disasters from the utility company's perspective. The mega pack also makes a significant amount of money, and this is through tesla's.

Proprietary energy trading program called the autobader which successfully trades energy for huge profits and if you weren't already convinced that tesla's energy storage department is about to explode, just wait until you see tesla's recent developments, that'll cover, as we've seen in the past, elon musk actually does. What he says he will do in this case tesla's strategy to outcompete and expand the energy industry is to offer competitive pricing lower the time it takes to install solar panels and integrate tesla solar panel with a solar roof which is tesla's proprietary roof made out of Solar panels and the tesla power wall, which is tesla's energy storage system that can store energy for a day. Elon stated that he's confident. This strategy will dominate the solar industry in 2021, yeah and actually, the important part is achieving better integration between the tesla power wall and the tesla retrofit solar and tesla roof um and we're confident we'll have excellent, integrations, uh, excellent, excellent integration with the um, the powerwall And and temple solar, whether it's required or um, the solar cloud improves um before the end of the year.

So it's it's really. I think we've got a good strategy. Um, as zach mentioned, we're um we're focused on reducing the amount of time and the complexity of the install and we're making great progress in that regard. Um and i think we'll have something that's really dialed in um this year.

Not surprisingly, we've already seen some impressive results for tesla's energy division in q4 of 2020 tesla achieved a record number of vehicle deliveries and almost delivered 500 000 vehicles. Yet, while all eyes were on vehicles, tesla delivered something much more impressive, which was energy sales. This growth occurred because of tesla's new efficient solar panel that was released in mid-2020 tesla's new solar panel was 10 more powerful than the previous version and 25 cheaper. In addition to this, tesla implemented a price match guarantee in order to outcompete the competition.
Clearly, these changes have helped tesla grow its solar division significantly. What's more interesting is tesla's latest development in its solar roof. Tesla's solar roof is already quite stunning, but recent news shows that tesla's taking the next step forward for the solar roof on february 22nd elon announced that the tesla solar roof could be coming out to canada and europe as early as 2021. about a week after that, On march, 2nd tesla was spotted, making even more developments.

A picture taken in fremont showed that tesla was testing new colors for the solar roof. This was interesting to see as the tesla solar roof was originally designed to come in four different styles. This includes smooth glass, tuscany, glass, slate, glass and textured glass. Ultimately, only the textured glass one came into fruition, but the recent testing site could mean that more styles are coming.

The end goal for this will be to disrupt the roofing industry entirely and replace it with solar roofs. This all sounds great, but it doesn't even come close to the growth that recently occurred in tesla's energy storage business. In the fourth quarter of 2020 tesla tesla's solar deployments increased almost 200 year-over-year and 100 quarter of a quarter. This growth was spearheaded by the tesla mega pack, which is evidently the future of energy storage.

The mega pack is continuing to become more and more cost efficient, as time goes on and will eventually shift most utility companies into purchasing the mega pack to replace peaker power plants. During times of day, where there's peak demand for energy inefficient power plants called peaker power plants must be turned on in order to supply energy at peak times. The mega pack changes this by allowing utility companies to store energies during times of low demand and sell that energy during times of peak demand. This has created lots of profit for utility companies so far, and it will continue to do so in the future.

The big disruption that's coming is to power utilities. There are trillions of dollars of bonds of capex, of value sitting inside the energy generation infrastructure of the world that is going to go upside down. Let me know whether you think tesla's energy division will dominate the solar industry. I defy you to go out for a trip to dinner or for groceries or to the office and NOT see a Tesla – it’s impossible – start noticing – they are everywhere.

I bet Tesla's "giant" isn't its solar division at all. It's probably the invaluable self driving A.I. they've been collecting data for since the first Tesla sold. This huge amount of driving data and experience is incredibly valuable.

Electric cars are stupid as shit, but with the invisible climate-change gas religion using bought liar politicians to force car manufacturers to go the exact opposite of "green" by reducing the gas that plants (what actually make the Earth green) THRIVE on, while flat-out lying that it's to make the Earth greener then the electric car manufacturers have stolen the monopoly. It's not going to last, because we're heading straight into a grand solar minimum which is going to be DEVASTATING to food production and all plant life because it's going to get VERY cold over the next decade. Just watch. Solar panels wont be much use. Especially with the raging psychopath Bill Gates blocking out the Sun with aerosols and scrubbing the life-giving green miracle gas CO2 out of the atmosphere so that nothing will grow. Fuck Tesla. The only thing good about Tesla cars is if you walk out in front of them they stop automatically so you can cross the road lol Stupid as shit, stupid shit for stupid people.

There is one extremely crucial point no one is mentioning. And that is the fact why renewable energy is going down in prices.
The share reason for that is the fact that renewable energy is available for everyone, thus making its price nearly free. And that is why prices are dropping as rapid as ~50-70% over period of 10 years. Which means that it is one of the worse markets to invest money, because the product you are making is dropping value instead of raising it. It is basically the same as giving away your money fro free…
The ones who are making profit are solar panel makers, or electric motor makers etc.. But even so the market is getting saturated there and the profit margins are dropping too… Same with batteries.
This rapid investment and further price dropping of energy will cause the crumble of economies. In fact that might be happening right now. Real estate prices are going up, because all the money from energy market are being diverted towards real estate or other markets that are more stable.

I don't think this comes to fruition until they do some acquisitions. Specifically looking at a company like Enphase that can complete their portfolio. Tesla should make huge inroads but they are beyond behind in hiring and roll out. A coworker requested a Tesla solar install. Zero customer service, they don't have an installer in North Carolina yet and use solaredge invertors and optimizers. Plus he can't get a timeline for install but they do have a huge price advantage. I think almost all of this could be solved by acquiring Rnphase and it's network and tech.

Elon musk is so greedy, why he pushes Chinese products??, he's a peddler, selling batteries and now solar panels all made in China, he is a fake, charlatan and the masses of sheep venerate him, tools!

Great analysis. I already have a solar system (vintage 2007) but I'd love to just go with a full solar roof and move my old panels to use as photovoltaic shade awnings over some windows and a doorway that need shade… I'll wait till Tesla Solar is actively seeking customers in my city, then all their gear will be more mature.
I sure am looking forward to it, and saving up for it too…

Flashback: 1980's gas shortage, predictions that by 2000 half the homes would be solar. A relative went solar which lasted ten years till it died and was removed.

Is his system more efficient per square inch, or because of bigger panels?

Tesla Energy built a 100mw battery in South Australia. It was expanded to 150mw. The neighbouring state of Victoria is building a 300mw battery. Another state north of Victoria, New South Wales wants a 700mw battery from Tesla Energy.
Other Australian states are looking big batteries too.

    But it didn’t work.
Texas was still without power during what I like to call, The BIG FREEZE!
When there is no sun how does the SOLAR cells work?
Plus the battery pack for home use is only good for a day. The Texas BIG FREEZE lasted for 2 WEEKS! No sun, No energy, how does the Tesla battery pack and solar roof work?

I don't know how you're assessing Tesla has forced petro car makers to "shift to EV or die off." 2020 was a bumper EV year but still only 3 million sold vs 12 million conventional cars. Tesla's portion of those EV sales was less than a quarter as well. Musk is doing exciting things but they're far from market dominant.

Solar will remain geographically limited. It will always be impractical in the snow belt – which encompasses at least 1/3 of the USA. Solar panels produce zero power when covered with snow, and few people will be able to get up on the roof in the winter time to clean the snow off the panels. My roof is covered with snow from December through mid March at least. Three months out of the year with no power (when it is needed most) isn't going to cut it. Most states in the North-East are cloudy 3 out of 4 days in the winter months also.
I have a DIY solar system, and built a ground mounted array with 30 panels in the front yard so I could clean them in the winter. For several months, I am cleaning those panels 3-4 times a week. Few people would put up with that hassle. Just getting to them is sometimes very difficult.

I like Musk but Tesla ist complete overvalued on the market; Fact by today: 500.000 Cars only by 2020; no autonoumous driving currently possible; its not clear if Tesla wins the run on it; Tesla is not marked leader on the solar market; and so on. I like Tesla!!!, really, but not the exorbitant high value.

Everything said is the future of society. Fossil fuels will become obsolete, electric companies will be going out of business because of solar technology. Global warming will decrease.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars AKAHEIZER says:

    1. Solar is dominated by the Chinese and always was, only in a short period Europe was at the Top.
The rest of the World never heard of Tesla Solar, its been mass-produced for a long time and it would need a real technological breakthrough from Tesla to change the status quo.

    2. Texas should be smart and invest in the power grid, connecting and integrating it with the rest of the US, and reinstall the existing cable installation from over the ground to underground installations like a developed country, it's not the Wild West anymore.

    3. I predict that the automotive division gets sold of be Musk in the next two to three Years to one of the big ones.
The Car Industry is not really a field which is suitable for his personal way of making business, but I thought that about Space X, including the Starlink project, and both are astonishing archivments.
But Tesla in its current state as Brand is a gigantic, unhealthy and totally overvalued stock market bubble and most likely to burst in the near future, which will sadly results in many tears.

This may be off topic, but I think someone might find it interesting. 🙂
Device to end the creation of Nuclear waist.
Step 1: calculate how much energy you need pumped into an electric motor to make a vertically positioned circular platter with magnets in-bedded horizontally around it's left side and right side (so there pushing force is pushing out sideways relative to the vertically spinning disc) to spin as fast as you need it to. Also better to make sure these magnets are shielded around their sides & back with metal that has high permeability so the magnetic field they are emitting is focused fully out sideways. 😀 Step 2: Calculate how many sets of copper coils you need to be interacting with magnetic fields to achieve this & to perpetuate more electrical current flow then is needed. 😀 Step 3: Build a round horizontally positioned platter covered in all these copper coils pointed down that does not move (Is stationary) 😀 Step 4: build a round platter covered in powerful magnets pointed up that can spin and place it directly under platter with hanging copper coils. 😀 Step 5: Position the vertical platter that is motorized close to the horizontally positioned platter covered in magnets pointing up so that when the vertically positioned platter spins the in-bedded horizontally positioned magnetic fields slam sideways against the edge of the horizontally positioned platter causing it to spin. 🙂 Step 6: Make sure enough of the copper coils are feeding their electrical current into the electric motor and the rest of the copper coils are linked into a set of rechargeable Battery's placed in the closest most convenient spot. Step 7: Build a duplicate setup of horizontally positioned discs with hanging copper coils and disc with upwards facing magnets and assuming the first set of discs are positioned to the front left side of vertical spinning disc, position the other duplicate structures to the front right, the back left and the back right of the vertically positioned motorized disc. As the vertically positioned motorized disc spins the horizontally in-beaded magnets will now hit into all 4 horizontally positioned discs causing them to spin. so you will effectively be using the spin of one disc powered by one electric motor to spin 4 constructs that are each generating electrical current. now build this whole setup multiple times over and use the current perpetuated by it to power up scaled electromagnetic generators that are equal to or more powerful than the ones used in a nuclear power plant. You will now have a device that is self perpetuating off of it's own electrical current perpetuation and no nuclear waist to worry about.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars T G says:

Here,s a caution ,,, the energy back up the Tesla is using is based on lithium batteries,,,, lithium is a mineral and its finite, it’s the new oil.. Renewable energy from wind and solar needs backup storage. True. BUT lithium is the wrong way to go for the future as we will eventually run out of it. And as we will run out the price will rise making it NOT cost effective. The only energy storage that is completely renewable and non polluting
is Hydrogen, Solar and wind should be used to make hydrogen from water then When the energy from the stored Hydrogen is needed the reaction creates water a closed loop. No other element on this earth has this property and is infinitely abundant and basically is free for ever.
