Which is the best indicator for trend trading?
That's a question I got from a fellow subscriber.
And here's what I said:
There a few common indicators that trend followers use like Moving Average, Bolllinger Bands, Average True Range etc.
However all these don't matter if you do not understand how your indicator works.
You must understand how your indicator works and how it fits into your trading plan, rather than blindly following overbought/oversold signals.
For me personally, I use the average true range and moving average indicator.
Lastly, I share my views on Sugar, NZD/USD, GBP/USD ,WTI and GBP/CAD.

Thank you for your informative video Rayner. I am also a trend trader.
i though that generally speaking we were suppose to wait for two retraces then get long or short at the first candle after the second retrace. On the crude oil chart, after the support was taken out, you got short after what looked like the first pullback. Why was it unnecessary to wait for a second retrace before getting short? Thanks for the help and the videos.
i use the 20 and 50 too, but i add the 200 just to know how strong the trend is.
good video, but just an opinion, trend trading is very flawed. It could work for some people, but no way easy. Trend trading is based mainly on the trend, without giving much reason, apart from the trend. Looks easy, but you can get stopped out and a trend can reverse.. Or you can move into profit, move your stop up and get stopped again. so it has never worked for me. I have actually kind of developed my own system and soon to test it, and if it works I will post some results. But yes, all over the internet, trend trading is seen as one of the best systems, but it is very flawed. Just saying…
sir rayner, is this applicable in any time frame?
in GBP Canadian..u said your stop loss was at 50 period ma…but the stock was taking support at 20 period ma…any reason why u chose 50 Ema as your stop loss..
"follow the trading plan" is true…the art is to create a trading plan that makes sense and consistently (most of the time) works . One's understanding of the plan is key. Thank you Rayner. Helpful video.
You mentioned the ATR. Do you have a video or any kind of explanation about the use of ATR for trend analysis?
Very open and honest. Superb presentation. I myself an a PA trader, with Ss and Dd levels my main play area. Seen alot of videos but this presenter is the most honest.
I'd actually like to know the outcome, if you remember. I do enjoy and appreciate your videos
hi sir, do gold trade analysis. some of ur followers are doing future market.
Hi there, cool pic lol. You may be successful in trading, I don't know. But it really is a very hard game. I just exit a trade with a loss. And put on another trade to see how it goes. I think most people do not have enough capital to trade. ??
hi sir, what is difference between scalping or swing trading? how do they trading can u give me example in ur presentation??
Quick question big man ?! Do trade news events ?!
Hey mate, I'm paper trading a trend following strategy and found this vid really helpful. But with low capital and trading just 2% of my account, how many positions should I be looking to have at any one time? Like, how often should I be scanning for charts?
You say it's best to find which indicators work for you but in reality people don't want to be starting out using indicator combinations which don't work, they want to use a proven blue print as a basis, i.e yours! Great video though. An idea for a video could focus on trade strategy development, factors to consider to filter out bad trades and create a money maker.
Seen the Hector trading course by any chance
does it work in all kind of time frame
good
How much money do you think is needed to start trading?
i want to start backtesting, but i dont know what i need in my spreadsheet. whats the criteria for a trading plan?
