Ricky, I have a question about trading futures like /ng, /cL etc. isn’t the trading fee higher for those? I’ve never seen any videos about this and was quite surprised using TDA to find huge trading costs, help please.

Man, I've been trying to swing trade after watching your videos for over a year and paper trading off and on throughout. I've been keeping a checklist of things to pay attention to before buying shares on my live account. Figured I'd put real money on the line as a serious training tool.
While I have limited my losses, I'm still in the red on the vast majority of trades–that said, at least I'm consistent. I know, I know, wait for confirmation, draw those supports, use indicators but don't wholly rely on them. It's that damn PDT rule that gets me, because so often I want to secure profits, the stock starts to dip back below its 180 day EMA, then it starts dumping. I end up selling it the next day at a loss and watch it rise back into the green within an hour. Drives me fucking insane.

I'm still needing to figure out my style; swing trading scares me a bit, and I'm still not confident enough in my analysis to determine when a stock is truly heading south and when it's merely experiencing some sizable but recoverable pull back. I'll figure it out eventually. There's always room to grow and learn, and there's definitely a list of things I know I need to improve on. First and foremost: patience. Don't buy a damn thing unless you can cut losses if need be. Secondly, consider buying when the indicators suggest upward momentum, but, at least for me currently, ensure that it's within two percent or so of its support so I can better manage risk. Lastly, I don't need to buy or sell every day. Be patient, be aware, be careful. You probably don't need to sell those shares right this second. Take a deep breath, relax, be rational.

Risk. That's the kicker though. You wouldn't have people making a living on the stock market if it were a gamble. There are steps I can take that will earn money rather than lose it. Just takes time, practice, and a cool head.

Anyway, thanks again for the videos, man. You're a major help and an inspiration.

What scanner options are you using with think or swim to find your patterns and why? I'm just getting started and most of my scanning will be done pre and post market

so confused… anyone please answer. in the trading profits, the TOS SMA is at 180. I understand that, and I also use that for my study. BUT in Ricky's rules, he mentions the 180 day EMA. does that mean that he looks at the EMA (which is set to 15) on the 180 day 4hour chart? or did he mean the 180 SMA?
    thanks in advance
