Quick question.. let’s say I have a margin account and I want to risk 2% per trade. Do I risk 2% of my cash amount or 2% of my buying power? For exemple let’s say I have 1,000$ cash and 3,300$ of buying power.

The only ngative in your videos is your speed of talking . It is difficult to follow you if the english language is not the first language .
As long as
the trend is good, it is always best to try to resist taking profits until the market has gone at least twice as far as your initial risk. If traders are out of half of their position but then see another strong buy signal, they might put part or all of the other half back on, at least for a scalp; but most traders should simply stick to their
original plan/strategy and enjoy their growing profit. My own original risk manage trading plan is always IQD Momentum Strategy, Lukasz Wilhelm's trading method.
Where do you trade your stock ?
Cutting losses is always a difficult thing to do when you are limited by the TPD rule. You can only jump in and out so many times before you a done for the week. You have to be even more selective about entry points that way your SL isn’t instantly triggered by a small pullback

Ricky I enjoy your videos but sometimes they are pretty vague on the subject that they're titled. You didn't really talk much about ways to manage risk, only that people should manage their risk.
My question is that with the pattern day trade rule it's very hard to manage risk because if you set a stop loss in the trade goes the opposite that you're expecting it cuts you out of that trade and there goes one of the three precious day trades that you have in a week. Any advice to deal with this would be more than welcome!

I would advise beginner traders start with less volatile stocks/etfs, I’ve been burned by ugaz, this is a very helpful idea that’s Ricky!

Ricky you let it plunge over 5% and didn’t cut losses and then you preach about cutting losses? You held till it reversed. If you were in ugaz it could have kept going down

Cutting losses for sure is the most important in trading. On a side note , Ricky is great at turning a red into a green with the inverse etf but for most of the people on this channel where the PDT rule prevents coming back out of the red to green, timing is crucial.
Isn't it a good rule of thumb to set up your stop loss at 3%?

Risk management is THE NUMBER ONE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN TRADING. You will never succeed until you learn and understand risk management. All the work/studying in the world will not allow you to succeed until you learn and understand risk management. The 2% risk model is a good place to start learning about risk management.
