Have you ever been in a position where you are fully invested in your trade and things begin to go south but you hesitate to cut losses? Here is my opinion on why watching your position size is idea when taking a trade! Trend is your friend and when the direction is not clear its best to watch your position size or not be invested at all!

As i'm under the PDT rule i cant scale up and out of a position as it would count as multiple day trades so i typically scale up then LMT order sell everything.
Why do you trade DGAZ instead of the actual futures
Why donโt you trade options?
WISE!!!!!
I agree with this mindset, the market isn't always doing to be flooding in money and so it's only sensible to take this approach to trading
how about 60% invested in stocks?? is that too high?
Just gonna throw this out there. The pdt rule only applies to U.S. brokers, so anyone trading with less than 25k should look for a overseas broker. This means you can do as many day trades as you want and dont need above 25k. You could literally trade 30 times in one day with say 1000 dollars.
So when you average up are you taking the same size position every time? Is it just a simple average for figuring the buy in price when you take the same size position buying up? Where can I find the formula for a weighted average if the position size isn't the same every time I buy in? Do you do the same thing when you sell out? Are the selling positions all the same size? For figuring the daily P/L do you use the average buy in price and the average selling price of a stock? There isn't enough YouTube vids from anyone to really get a handle on the accounting side of day trading. What do you really need to keep track of and how to do it. How do you set up your excel spreadsheet so when your accountant looks at it he can make sense of what you've been doing?
Thanks As Always Ricky!! Even When We Have Been Trading Consistently Profitably For Awhile, It's Great To Remind Ourselves Of The (Back To The Basics) Principles, That Helped Us, & Helps Us, Achieve Any Moderate Success. God Bless Ya Brother!! Have A Great/Green/Fun Week.
Been in trading for just over 2 years now and I still find these as good reminders to stay ground
I bought 4 different stocks this morning. I bought AMD and Roku at the bell. Using about half of my account. I then bought Drip and ADMP a few minutes later and I was all in. Everything took a deep dive so fast I was way passed the 1% loss margin I usually bail at. Now I'm hoping that things bounce back enough so the loss I take tomorrow isn't too big. I have a $4500 account and I aim for a 2% profit on most stock trades. This is a good video about knowing when to bail out with a loss. I learned today to use only half of my account so when I bail after a dive I still the other half of the my account to use in case it bounces back and shoots up.
Ricky if you could please answer one question, how do i work around the 3 trades per week on td ameritrade
wise young fella!!
"Hey guys sorry for the different camera quality hopefully its ok with you guys" (eye moves 2 inches to the right) "NO EXCUSES". lol
Howโs that Tesla swing trade planing out
Lol. We are small shrimp ๐ค compared the the market.
If one takes a 2000.oo dollar stand ,and that's all you got in your account, do you lose your 2000.00 dollars when it go's past your mark, then comes back up do you lose your money,?
Me UGAZ one year ago… lost 85% of my portfolio by putting everything in UGAZ… have doubled my portfolio since, but LESSON LEARNED.
Thanks!
Nice Ricky!๐
I agree 100%, was trading ugaz a few weeks ago and thought I was seeing signs of a reversal. I took a full $6500 position and was up to a little under 8500. I held over night and was for sure that an uptrend was starting however ugaz took a dump and now I'm down $3500 in just a week because it was too hard for me to take a loss and i bag held for weeks. I took this as a learning experience, taking a break from trading with real money, and I'm saving money to trade once again
So Ricky, speaking of averaging up, will I get "flagged" being under the PDT Rule if I averaged up? Thanks!
I agree with that
Clearest quality! Keep that camera!
Yeah your absolutely right i grow my account by 200$ this week and lost it all yesterday on GBP/Usd . Like you said manage risk
