If you guys really think american airlines will go bankrupt just stop investing…. half these youtubers just need content. Flying is the fastest form of travel across the world. Unless all airlines stop flying people i highly doubt american will just go bankrupt. Buy low and hold longtern!

The govt will bail out airlines
Personally, I do not believe AAL is a good long term investment. If I was thinking about airline stocks, I would look at United (UAL) or Delta (DAL).
I bought 25 shares while AAL was at 9,57$…I hope it will recover. In my opinion, AAL is having a enormous amount of employees. Government would not let it go bankrupt

Naw, good job on grabbing title though. Everyone flys, government bails out, and US has to stay dominant with multiple airlines. Next
$40 Billion in debt in AAL alone would mean almost two years of burning $60M dollars a day. That's a wild assumption. Especially when you consider that the only thing driving the burn rate lower wouldn't be increased demand but also reducing operating and administrative costs. There's no way they get to $40B in debt.

The U.S. government acquired millions of AAL, UAL DAL and LUV shares, as part of the Cares Act. Do you think the government will allow the company to go bankrupt if they own a stake in the company? Do your homework. Stop click-baiting people.

Hi @Ricky, thanks for your insight. I bought AAL at 9.65 USD and it has been hovering between 8-9 since last week. I expect it to possibly go to 10.40 ish short term (reason being people traveling for Memorial Day), but I do agree that business travel will be reduced and individual discretionary spending will reduce due to economic uncertainty.
My plan: Buy technology and medical stock to gain short term gain. Then, use that money to buy oil, restaurant and Disney stock. Finally, use that money to buy airline and cruise stock. If everything goes perfectly, I will expect to triple my stock portfolio revenue

Thoughts on Spirit? Will it go bankrupt?
Obviously it will take time for recovery, 2-3-4 years from now, but imagine the world without airlines or flights. Govt wont let the airlines bankcrupt. They went through 9-11. So I’m buying for long term. Of course the risks make AAL trading at $9 otherwise it would be much more expensive.
There is a reason the rich and elite are dumping stocks and going into digital assets.
Ricky, American Airlines is not down at 90% anymore, that happened just a couple of weeks, our bookings are up to 45% now, planes are getting more passengers. Please do not go to the extreme like the news. I know that we are having hard times but we will come back eventually.

I would bet on delta before American airlines
Get rid of the obese flight attendants . Lower weight and better mileage . It is even worse at Delta .
American will either be bailed out or bought out possibly rebranded but probably not. They will not seize operations as their too essential for the economy
