for day trades…are you using market buy and sell? or limit? how do you set limit fast enough?

You are my virtual mentor! Perhaps, at this point, this video is legacy, looking at your former self, and perhaps your former trading-style. Truthfully, I'm very thankful for you and your legacy content. At any rate, for the second trade I was curious about the decision-making process. On the 1m, I noted that you had a green doji that was attempting to cross the VWAP at something like 10:36am, the exact time when you attempted to execute the trade. I reviewed the trade on the thinkorswim via OnDemand. On the 1m, at this instance, the 9-day moving average wasn't really separating itself from the other averages. My point being is with a steeper slope, you could only then be confident that the stock would lead to new heights. Additionally, your MACD was inconclusive, with no distinct crossovers. However, the MACD histogram was reflecting strong sell off. Moreover, you did have an oversold RSI, which was confirmed by the price increase in the green doji, which would mean an uptrend. (I fast forwarded to a later point in that same trading day and Thinkorswim suddenly switched the RSI state to overbought. What is up with that?) Therefore, since MACD and the 9-day average didn't confirm the trade, wouldn't waiting for the stock to breakout reaching the intra-day high have been the safer bet? or even waiting when the stock successfully completely crossed VWAP? Otherwise, from what I can gather, RSI was maybe your strongest confirmation to make this trade in the moment. Perhaps you saw something else on Level 2? I'm your biggest fan Conor but I was wondering what was your reasoning. At the end of the day, you are a successful trader for a reason, so making the green-light decision on these on-the-fence trades is perhaps what separates you from others, which is your real edge. Thank you for the content.

I have had the same delay problem. Sometimes they are amazingly quick – almost instant. Sometimes it may take a couple of minutes, and the price is just lost. RH is better for swing trading, but I wouldn't recommend it for day trading very much. It is great for small accounts and small trades.

Webull seems to respond a lot faster.

You should not be using market orders but setting limit in and out orders plus if you're new to trading you should really only be trading 1 share till you have several good trades where u execute correctly hold and set a exit price .once you have that down then move out to 1-2 shares and learn scaling in and scaling out then move up 1-5 . Teach yourself proper timing on entering trades and scaling in taking profits into strength and obeying stop loss prices. Scale up rinse repeat .

Learned more watching your videos the couple hours than my own research for the past week.

So this wasnt really RH fault at all. You didnt use a limit order. Youre phone not updating is more likely due to some other factor that doesnt include RH. You are aware that the internet and all things related to it can and do suffer from possible delays, but you didnt use a limit order….you know this can happen with market orders on any platform. Its not RH's fault. Its the way things are, the only way to have prevented it was, well your responsibility.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Estate Cleaner: Adventures in Reselling says:

    Never use the market order.

I have had this issue with Robinhood as well. I have found that you have to be more aggressive with the app when day trading. Get in as close to where you would be wrong as possible and to take the profit using a limit order otherwise it's just too choppy. Robinhood has to have the time (because Robinhood is slow) to fill the order, so if you would have entered your order at the bottom of that 5 minute candle you would have been able to sell and not taken a loss. The other option is to find bigger potential haha Tobinhood can be a pain in the butt sometimes, I hope they fix their platform in the future.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeffrey Bernard says:

Connor, you mentioned that robinhood executed your order at a higher price than expected, did you do a limit or market order?

Hey Connor! I enjoy your videos. Question for you: Is limit buy/sell doable at opening bell when stocks are moving up/down so quickly?

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Big Tablet says:

also started using robinhood and realized this is gonna be hard to day trade these volatile stocks. stocks move fast and robinhood is slowwww

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dude Man says:

how did you get around their requirements for a min of $ 25000 to daytrade

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dude Man says:

robinhood does not let you day trade unless you have a loaded account

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Casey Davis says:

Started today with 500. Got in CARA and up almost $20 only buying 10 shares today.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Trading DH says:

Dude, we need to find another alternative to RH! They cost me $500 this morning as well

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kyle Vallans says:

Try using stop limits to buy at the price above in which you are trying to get at. For this instance you can set a stop limit to purchase right above the resistance for when it breaks. Robinhood supports this and you only get filled at that specific price.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bond James Bond says:

hi Conner, how are you placing your orders? limit orders or just market orders, and do you you trailing stop losses?

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mahmoud Shehata says:

    robinhood is ashit
