Happened to me today on TOS. I was up 180% on a call option of the QQQ with a trailing stop loss set at -20%. It didn't trigger until it got back down to 110%. I was very angry because where I was had poor internet service and I was trying to protect my profits but it didn't happen. But I'll take it. At least I doubled my money.

You seem to be talking about stop orders, what happens if if I enter a short trade with a stop loss above it and then I find out that the price rose above my stop loss without stopping my loss and instead stopped me out at a higher price which means I lost more than I actually put a stop loss to prevent? What recourse do i have when that happens?

Title is misleading. In the scenario covered in the video, the stop orders are 100% working correctly. I assumed the video covered situations when stop orders fail to trigger which can happen for a number of esoteric reasons depending on trading platform, security type, system on which order is submitted, time of day (regular or after hours), etc.
