All right. so this bad boy right here: the American Express Delta Sky Mouse platinum card I think I'm pretty much done with it now. I'm going to make this very clear: I'm not bashing Delta or bashing American Express was going to give my thoughts and opinions and I really would love for you guys to do so as well. So make sure you comment your thoughts and opinions down below.

So the main reason why I had this card was to give me that status boost. I Also like to have it for the free check bag and everything of that nature and then also the TSA Global Entry Credit as well. but those two credits right there for me don't apply I have the American Express Platinum Card that is 6.95 right now for the annual fee I have Delta as my preferred Airline So every year I receive 200 in Airline fee credits. In a rare instance, if I actually do have to check my bag, then I'll just use the American Express credit.

That's what it's there for. So the free check bag doesn't apply to me and I'm sure a lot of you guys have both of those cards. The TSA pre-check combo doesn't matter to me because the American Express Platinum Card gives that to me as well and the Companion Pass is really hit or miss for me. You really have to do a lot of research to find a really good Companion Pass award and at that point it really just feels like I'm being forced to use it so I can make myself seem as if I'm getting value, but I'm really just forcing myself to spend additional money that I don't have to.

The main reason I use this card was for the status boost. The status boost was amazing and it is still effective for this year. Right now, I'm sitting at about 17 000 for this year as you can see right here, so I only need about maybe 8 000 and some change more to get uh, silver medine status next year. I think that's what I'll have next year and for the routes that I fly typically I'm able to get upgrades on a okay basis I'd say maybe 80 of the time I'm able to get an upgrade to either Comfort Plus or first class, but without this status boost of the 10 000 Mqms for every twenty five thousand dollars you spend up to fifty thousand dollars, it makes absolutely no sense when 50.

and then the major devaluation for this card for only getting one Mqd for every 20 spent makes this card pretty much irrelevant if you're trying to get Delta status from just spending on this card. Like I said in my previous video, if you want to have silver Medallion status moving forward, you have to have about 6 000 Mqds the prior year. If you're only getting one Mqd for every 20 spent on the Delta Sky Mouse platinum card, you have to spend approximately about sixty thousand dollars a year just to get silver. My dying status on this card.

Luckily for American Express they've already gotten my annual fee money back in I believe April and May of this year does not make sense for me to cancel right now. also because I'm still trying to hit Medallion status for next year. but after next year, I'm really going to sit down and see if this card's worth it right now. In my mind, it's done and I'll be downgrading myself all the way down to the blue card, the Duncha Sky mileage, the blue one, the one that has no annual fee.

It has no perks or anything of that nature. Just so. I Don't lose that line of credit and it may come down to American Express has a better credit card in the future that comes out then I may just cancel this card entirely. It also makes it a big bummer for people who wanted to go into the Delta Sky club before a flight if you were traveling on.

Delta you could pay about 50 bucks to get in here if you had this car and that's gone too. So it's a bunch of devaluations with this car. It really makes this car like why are you here but I want to know from you guys with this one, what are your thoughts like I said I'm sitting down I'm looking at the numbers right now, probably not feeling it. My suggestion to all of you that already paid the annual fee for this year, maybe two options one see if American Express has a retention offer.

That's something I'll probably consider in maybe a few months or so. Maybe the retention offer will be worth it to keep the car for the next year, but after that I'm canceling. The second option if you've already paid the annual fee for this year is to wait it out and see if American Express does any changes with this card. I Had to be very surprised if American Express doesn't have some other added benefits that makes this car more valuable as time goes on.

This news was just announced by Delta So I am going to give American Express a little bit of Grace to see what they do again because my answer fees already been paid to see if they can make this card valuable again right now in my pocket. This has no value at all until the end of the year. that is so I can actually reach my medine status for 2024. But after that I'm done.
