He had no idea how true that statement would be just 2 years later. In an ironic turn of events, Elon Musk just ended up making $80 million of dollars from this SEC settlement over his “funding secured” tweet.

So, he paid $20m personally, and then bought $20m in Tesla shares to help Tesla pay their fine. And now those shares are worth ~$100m.
100-20-20= $60m
