I believe most people are misunderstanding Nikola as an innovative manufacturer of semi trucks. And lots of people complain about them not having any proprietary IP or vertical integration because that’s been Tesla’s strategy on the automobile side. But that’s not what Nikola is. They are not in the business of selling semi trucks. They are in the business of selling hydrogen fuel. In order to do so, they needed to create the demand for their hydrogen and hence, they’ve developed a truck to do so, regardless of if it’s their proprietary IP or not. Nikola doesn’t care if the trucks are their own or some other manufacturer of FCEV because they’d all be using their hydrogen stations. So Nikola doesn’t care if GM gets to keep any of the IP because the more the more OEMs build FCEV, the better off Nikola would as they want to sell the hydrogen at the end of ten day. People forget that from the outset, Nikola has always described themselves as an innovative energy tech company and not a electric semi truck company. They are simply misunderstood by most people except for its core following who truly understand how visionary and disruptive their business model is

Yet, he isn’t in prison despite the allegations by the securities and exchange commission and the department of justic. Just goes to show you that color is what matters in America. Clearly, this Trevor Milton is a white collar criminal (no pun intended). He should be serving 30 years in prison.
