According to CNBC, Tesla’s upcoming quarterly report could put another $3 billion in Elon Musk’s pocket. Since the 6-month average of the Tesla stock market value is now $250 billion, the milestone for this current compensation package is triggered. This would be the 4th of 12 total tranches allowing Elon Musk to purchase Tesla stock at a discount, as part of his 2018 compensation package. In this video I will explain why the whole premise and breakdown of this situation by CNBC is fundamentally flawed, stay tuned.

If you want no bullshit news without propaganda, don't turn on the tv. Turn on Tom Nash channel.

Thank you for clarifying, what I thought was happening, the way Tesla is being treated by media. 💕

CNBC is definitely allegedly misleading the people.

At this point the fact the MSM is attacking something makes me want to support it. 🙂

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars phil312 says:

Great job exposing the facts! Simple math; Tesla does not contribute to the advertising budget of the networks but Ford does.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Omar Awad says:

Hey John great video as always! Just one question: towards the end of the video you mentioned that Tesla will be the first $1T dollar company.

This is a bit unclear: did you mean the first automotive company worth $1T by market cap?

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stoyan Stoyanov says:

And you forgot the few 80M Musk invested from his own money in Tesla

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars M M says:

To also point out something Musk mentioned, that avg 58000, is missing the common stock employees get as part of their compensation, and as Musk said, as the stock value rises, their effective compensation does to.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars PossumNation says:

I believe Musk and his team probably wouldn't change their work habits based on the stock price.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anonymous user says:

Thank you. It’s clear there is a smear campaign going on against Elon and Tesla and people would not know without these sorts of comparisons.

Good eipisode! Nice exposure of the corruption and bias of mainstream media!

How much does Ford pay CNBC for ads?

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jon schmid says:

CNBC MSNBC and Ford have a lot in common… They all have a short Future!!!!!!!

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Aloysius Fekete says:

I think you also make the mistake in not distinguishing the difference between a cash payment and an award of stock options. Elon did not get paid 3.7B dollars. He did not wake up one day and find billions of cash in his bank account. And, BTW, how many shares that he has been awarded has he sold?

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gabriel Bourke says:

In a court of law it would called out as "misleading the audience/witness/etc."

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ChitFromChinola says:

When I first saw Elon’s pay package, I thought it was innovative and a cool idea. I think he will do something special with his money. He doesn’t spend money on houses and stuff — he likes to change the world for the better, so I think he will surprise us with mind-blowing cool ideas.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Graham Hitchcox says:

    Not Wrong. Stay fast. 10 Years = 400 – 4000%

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ken Seehart says:

Also, his compensation package should be valued in terms of the market price of the options contracts at the time of the compensation agreement. And then further discounted by estimated probability of sucess of meeting the required goals. After all, any employee could have purchased those options with a portion of their salary and become millionaires. I don't know what those numbers are, but I doubt the entire deal could have amounted to more than a few million by that metric.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Radu Dragan says:

How exactly is this pay package controversial, if it was approved by shareholders?
It's not as though he's allegedly stealing money like some other CEO's were accused of doing.
That's what should be considered controversial.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jose Ramirez says:

    Tom,
Id like to get your thoughts on this matter.
Ive seen other youtubers say that for this particular quarter the big payout for musk might be a negative as it will weigh down overall profit. The thesis was that musk and the board were not expecting these milestones to ne hit so soon. Do you think lets say if they post 8.3 billion in profit but now its really 5.3 billion due to musks compensation package. I think its great how he is paid

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ekro on says:

You should change your name to Tom Bash, keep hitting us with the truth!

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars stephen s says:

What does Elon have to do to make you a fan?

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Bowman says:

The MSM is funded by advertising. Tesla does not advertise. Perhaps Tesla is seen as a threat to the other auto manufacturers who last year spent well over $7 BILLION (And that was just GM, Ford & FCA – source statista . com) so perhaps that is part of their motivation?

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Blake Johnson says:

You have great no bullshit videos. Keep up the good work man!
