It’s not as if the legacy car makers didn’t have a warning. Elon said what the game was from the start, if they go bankrupt, it’s their own fault.

I found it interesting that you compared the Audi eTron's 204 mile range ($75k price) to Tesla's highest range Model X 325 mile range (starting @ $99k price). Not really apples-to-apples unless you have a spare $24k burning a hole in your pocket. The standard range Model X has a range of 255 miles and starts at $85,500.  Yes… Tesla has longer range, but you're paying for that.

BTW… Look up 'real world ranges' and they're not that far apart.

For what it's worth, I've driven both the Audi eTron and the Model X and preferred the drive of the Audi. That's just a personal opinion and means little big picture.  Tesla was definitely quicker off the line, but Audi was far superior in overall driving IMO (smoother ride, less road noise, far superior handling and steering).

BTW… Why didn't you mention the Hyundai Kona EV? It starting price is $37k and has an EV range of 258 miles. It won the Edmunds Editor's Choice Award for 2019, but I'm sure Edmunds is biased too right? Anyone who doesn't choose Tesla #1 in everything is "biased".

Question… Do you really think Audi's technology has peaked at this point? Do a search on Volkswagen's EV roadmap for the coming years (Volkswagen flagship as well as Audi & Porsche). While I know most Tesla fans don't believe them, I do. I also expect Audi's future iterations of eTron and new model EVs will have extended range. With that said, Tesla will likely improve in that area as well.

In regards to Honda's FIT EV… The only advantage it has is it starts at $18k. Well… That lower price advantage opens them up to tens of millions of potential customers that aren't there for Tesla. It's not always about having the best technology. Sometimes it's a matter of buying the best of what you can afford. There's a reason Honda sold about 5.3 million vehicles last year alone.

Casgains – I wasn't aware that range and efficiency are moat sources, but I guess that could fall under 'intangible assets' which is a known type of moat. You might be aware of this already, but the generally accepted moat sources are below… I think it's important to note that economic moat is only important in how likely a given advantage (moat) is to keep its competitors at bay for an extended period of time.

Network Effect. The network effect occurs when the value of a company’s service increases for both new and existing users as more people use the service.
Intangible Assets. Patents, brands, regulatory licenses, and other intangible assets can prevent competitors from duplicating a company’s products, or allow the company to charge a significant price premium.
Cost Advantage. Firms with a structural cost advantage can either undercut competitors on price while earning similar margins, or they can charge market-level prices while earning relatively high margins.
Switching Costs. When it would be too expensive or troublesome to stop using a company’s products, the company often has pricing power.
Efficient Scale. When a niche market is effectively served by one or a small handful of companies, efficient scale may be present.

Full disclosure – The above 'Moat' information was borrowed from Morningstar.

How is it getting to $5000 though lol? I was waiting for that part the whole video. That would basically require Tesla being the only manufacturer of EV's, cornering the market. Toyota is currently well in the works to try and compete. Good video otherwise though, I like the cars.

Wow why did someone dislike, great video!

The one dislike is a Tesla bear 🐻
