In this video I explain whether you should you rent where you live? and expose renting. I talk about the advantages and disadvantages of renting and why its not all its cracked up to be.
Renting instead of buying can be great if you can generate a good return on investment with your money, such as property investment or property investing or by running a business. But if you only plan to hold your money in the bank or invest in the stock market it might be better to buy instead of rent.
If you do want to rent instead of buy you should be aware that it can be more expensive and you wont benefit from any improvement in the property market as you're effectively paying off someone elses mortgage.

This is so helpful!
I moved to a new area and have been renting there for the last three years, really like the area and the flat, but it isn't an affordable area for me to buy in, sadly.
But i am glad i rented, i barely had enough money for the rent deposit when i moved.
Excellent vid
I definitely wish I’d bought earlier and overpaid the mortgage! Even though prices were higher I wouldn’t have a monthly payment now. I think, for your primary dwelling, but an affordable place and clear the mortgage quickly! My house is around 550 a month to rent, and I choose to pay 1100, this will be for at most around 8 years then I’ll be mortgage free, so I’m really only paying 550 a month to get rid of my rental payment, ie over 8 years I only pay £53k to end up with a rent free (100k) house after 8 years. And I’ll have at least £1100 per month for other things. I say if it affordable buy, but definitely don’t go getting that 4-5 times your salary mortgage, you’ll never pay that off in any reasonable length of time
Great video mate! I think one of the positives of renting is that if your unsure about where you want to live, it gives you the flexibility to move around. Although I agree there are more benefits from simply buying a place and take advantage of property market increases.
Loads of thorough research done here, really shows. Keep it up man
wow! super-useful video man! you really do make the best property investing content out there and give really good advice with clear examples! keep it up. I love it when there is always a new upload!
Great video think it depends where u rent. If you renting a flat in London is way too expensive surely is better to buy here with rates so low !
I wish I had you as a friend. You awesome bro!
The point you’ve missed is – get an interest only mortgage and broadly speaking your interest on the mortgage equals the capital growth ie you live for free 👍
Great content Thomas, well done
Do you think you should buy? or rent?
