Can or should you sell real estate part time? Is it ever a good idea? The short answer is no, probably not. You really shouldn’t be selling real estate part time and here’s why. Feel free to add me on Snapchat/Instagram: GPStephan
Here's why it's probably not a good idea:
-You compete with people who are full time (like me, bud)
-The busier you are, the more business you do
-The real estate market is very fast-paced
-Your schedule is at the mercy of your buyers/sellers (goodbye, weekends)
-It'll be hard to get ahead if you're only working part time
It could, however, work out for you:
-If you dedicate daytime hours to real estate (sorry, Vampires)
-If you already have an extensive network of buyers/sellers
-If you know what you're doing and don't need to actively generate leads
-If you're not sure this is what you want to do, but still want to try it out.
So to summarize, if you really want to make the most of your potential business, it’ll probably be a good idea to work in real estate full time. Working part time will be much, much more difficult. Thanks for watching!

Eh don't agree with the time frame/ work schedule. Most people work normal day jobs and can only go to see houses after work anyway. I'd say a very high percentage of house showings are done after 4pm on weekdays or on the weekends.
Thanks gram love the content now I know
Hi Graham just testing if you still look at old video comments 👀 really good video by the way.
How do you plan your vacations?
I’ve been subscribed for a while and watched selling sunset. I saw you’re on the oppenheim group i was excited! Thanks for the great tips
I just tried working real estate part-time while balancing with the full-time job and even with its flexible schedule, all it took was having one client to make it not possible, I just recently put in my two week notice at my job and I hope myself for the best and thank you for the advice Graham
What buyer is ready at 9:45am? Most ppl who are buying a house ate also working 40 hour jobs. You think everyone is fed by a sliver spoon like you? No, 90% of ppl work 9-5 jobs, get over yourself
what if have a full time job but do it as a side income? is it worth getting a license?
Thanks for this video. I’m a nurse considering real estate and getting my feet wet part time at first might be the way to go.
This is so true, I tried doing it part time and I crashed!
Wow thank you for your transparency!

What about selling real estate fulltime but only for a couple months out of the year????? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 gotcha. Lol
Yeah. If you're going part time, investing and renting out is the way to go. It's a lot more flexible and it's a great way to build passive income. And you can use a property managent company if you're really busy. I'd do it since I'm definatley more interested in renting than selling.
Graham, I'm not sure if you've done a video on this yet (probably have but) on average how much downtime do you have as an agent? I want to get into real estate as a career but also want to have enough time to seriously focus on music. In your opinion, is this feasible?
I know a lot of agents that do every well part time
I have a pretty stable job, but I'm not trying to make 75k the rest of my life and Im not taking 100k plus student loan debt either
Tons of prejudice against part time agents. Other agents will cut your throat and step on your corpse to get the deal.
When I was looking to buy a home I would go to open houses on weekends.. Because I worked full time. my current schedule I work is Monday through Thursday. I have a military background and industrial background so I think that gives me an edge. We will see. Another thing to consider is my wife works in real estate so she can help when I am not available. Take advantage of having a significant other. It's great when you can be a trusting team
The info was solid but you get unlimited cool points for the background song😎👌🏾
You say full-time but what is considered full-time?
This background music is killing me
It's like this…
Part time real estate is really full time and full time is all the time. No part time exists. Also, it's too expensive to work part time. You're better off working referrals.
How does anyone recommend starting real estate if you HAVE to pay rent. I'm going to have to work a 9-5 until I have a steady stream of clients. Idk how its gonna work, but I will make it work. <3 IF THERES A WILL THERES A WAY
I've been a car salesman for a long while now and the business is not as good as it used to be. I think real estate is my next move
Looking for a side job that I can do on my own time. Would you still not recommend doing this part time?
Thank you!
I have all day to do more and I’m still working on networking. Then I go school at night. HELP ME lol …..
Do you know if selling sunset will have a season 2….
What about this scenario Graham? I am a university professor in Japan but I invest in real estate in the US. Every year I earn between $5,000-$10,000 in referrals to real estate turnkey companies I trust. I also refer a lot of business to agents I use but they usually don't give me a referral fee because I'm not an agent. I've been thinking of getting my license so I can get a referral fee. Not sure if the costs are worth it though. Do you know any agents who just do it for the referral fees?
Hey Graham, I am a soon-to-be College Junior looking to potentially get my real estate license this summer then work real estate in my college town area during the school year so that I can learn everything about real estate and hopefully one day become an investor. Do you feel it would be beneficial for me to do that or should I just wait until I graduate?
Simple
Graham, I work from 2:30pm-11:00pm sometimes until 3:00am. You said part time would be good if someone worked a night job. I was wondering of the same would apply to a 2nd shift type job. I would like to work a Realtor job from 9:00am-2:00pm. Should I hold off until I can save up and create some kind of passive income to quit my full time job? Im afraid of wasting the money to get a license.
I like almost all of your vids but this one is very ignorant … Bro there are so many people who have made it in Real Estate starting part time while working their 40h until they could make the jump to full time Real Estate … you are basically making people that want to get into it but have bills to pay doubt themselves
