The fundamental reason is that the UK did a 180 on its previous announced tax cuts, which helped reduce the yields on British bonds – which over the past few weeks has been trading like a penny stock and not one of the key bonds of the G7 – and so as yields go down, stocks go up (in this case UK money flowing in the US stock market)
