The shorts and the DTCC are desperate for money to pay for the squeeze, and the DTCC is likely even encouraging more manipulation to try and avoid the inevitable squeeze.
The OCC are relaxing rules about how much money they can steal from pensions in the event of a member default. Previously this was capped at $1bn they can steal, now, they've removed the cap so they can steal $35tn if they need.
They're also relaxing reporting requirements around price improvements, aka, these market makers can manipulate the price without even having to tell the NASDAQ who is submitting the price.

Ill never understand why any regulatory body would ever allow anyone to gamble with money they don’t have. This isn’t vegas and you shouldn’t be allowed to open a line of credit for the stock market. Putting the stock market in a position where it can’t pay someone because the payer doesn’t have the money should never be allowed. 🤦♂️

Supply and demand is the driving force of price action and they continuously want to manipulate it when liquidity is low.
