They can't stop Powell from a job. I can understand why they don't want the market to crash. Most number finally got a high amount of ill-gotten gains from the insider trading and they don't want that to drop down in value.
Okay Russian raised in Russia. It’s played out by now the act of “I’m not proud of the place that raised me” theme. Or, “I don’t give a damn” act.. because “I am Russian nevertheless” If you are indeed Russian, then do you need to glorify how you disdained the place that facilitates your birth? Despite justifications, do you even know if your are loyal or treacherous? It’s as ungrateful as “I don’t like my mom because she displeases me” speech to gain favor of peers.
I hear you and agree with what you're saying but I did hear you mention Keystone. That is just a bad story that wouldn't help America at all and we all need to understand that sleepy Joe can't do anything with Keystone. For 1 it is a Canadian company that owns it and they are pumping oil that is going international to make products other than gas. Secondly the Keystone XL pipeline is nowhere near to being complete and that was before the pandemic. Completion date on that I believe was 2026 and that also wouldn't be pumping oil that is refined to gas. Unfortunately this would fall on OPEC and the Saudis to clear this up.
Great video as usual Tom. Your mentioning of children hesitant to taking shots is a good analogy if you're talking about immunization with Traditional Vaccines of three decades ago – but the mRNA quackery that is being pushed by the corrupt compromised establishment of WHO, CDC, USFDA, and big pharma is just as flawed quackery as attempting to stop all fossil fuels at once before renewable sustainable infrastructure is in place. Because they are still trying to push it even with higher adverse death and malady percentages than ever before, one should be keenly aware they had to change the definition thrice in 2021 in Merriam Webster just so they could even call their concoction a 'vaccine' – but it is in no way close to a traditional vaccine and they know it. Plus they know there are greater potential for unknown adverse effects (especially with only one year or so of testing), and they are pushing it anyway. This should greatly concern any sane person. Today's medical establishment factions close to big pharma, certainly cannot be trusted, and the CDC/FDA can't be trusted either because they are bought/owned largely by big pharma.
Keystone XL was never going to serve the domestic market. No matter how badly you mangle how oil works nothing from the tar sands moving through that pipeline would be burnt in America except what is burnt at the refinery to process the rest.
My opinion. Not years Tom. Get the people together. Easy for people to say as crowdfund. Make the Government efficient. Dont vote for non-engineer and no bullshit government candidate. I dont care if he is foul mouthed as long as he delivers and not just on paper. Passing just bills- laws are signs of academe an not a worker. They dont fuckin deliver.
This is the first fresh take that I've been able to catch since I arrived in Spain, last week. It's great to see your ugly mug. This was greatness, Tom. Spot-on analysis!
Just a thought, in defense of the Fed the tools they have their disposal are not up The task. The macro environment is complex and if we do have a recession the Russians are basically screwed 🤔IMO
The Keystone XL pipeline was blocked in 2015 by Obama, then given a green light by Trump in 2017, then killed by Biden in 2021. But, it was never anywhere near completion. When it was killed in 2021, it was only 8% complete. When you consider that Trump pulled out all the stops, yet they still only got that far in 4 years, you can see from the scale of the project it would easily take another 10 years to complete.
My point is that the hypothetical 500,000 extra barrels per day it would add to the supply wouldn't even be flowing now if it hadn't taken an arrow to the knee. Also, this is a pipeline, not a well. It by itself doesn't do anything but transport oil efficiently. What's flowing through the keystone system is mostly Canadian tar sand oil (which isn't really "energy independent" if it's coming from another country, is it?) The additional capacity would have come from a couple states the XL would have passed through (Montana and N. Dakota), but there's nothing stopping those areas from producing oil – they just have to find a different way to transport it…. which, they are – so we didn't really lose that capacity?.
The Bakken Formation has been mined for coal, natural gas, oil, and helium, etc since the 50s. The XL would have just given an easy on-ramp for transporting it… and it's not good quality light sweet crude oil, but it's better than Canadian tar sands.
Keep in mind that the cost per barrel has to be high enough for companies to even bother extracting more. The reason so many shale oil companies went bankrupt was the invention of fracking which provided cheap natural gas from otherwise dead wells. That also killed off a large section of the coal industry. A lot of those tar sand and other dirty oil deposits had a break even point around $70/barrel. Right now with inflation that number is probably higher, but it'd likely still be profitable to start extracting that again, but oil companies aren't going to bother because this energy crisis will be over before they can recoup their investment in property, plant, equipment, and labor & they'll just go bankrupt all over again.
As for govt policies, the USA lets oil companies essentially write off the cost of any investment in exploration for new resources as well as depreciate the cost of any well – regardless of if they strike oil with that new well. They could spend millions on a brand new well that hit nothing, yet still get that money back over time. The real problem is the refineries – as you've brought up before. It does us no good to get more oil if we're just going to ship it overseas (which is really what the XL pipeline was for btw) instead of refine it into something usable like gasoline. With the pressure to manufacture hybrids and electrics, the future of gasoline is not looking too bright, so I don't blame oil companies for not wanting to invest in a dying industry.
We need to find a way to incentivize oil companies to create newer, better refineries within the USA in spite of our energy goals to eventually switch them off. That's the challenge we need to address.
Current American leaders are absolutely the worst people possible to be in charge at the moment. The free loving world is screwed because the USA is dying a self inflicted death. From Canada. p.s. Were not better off up here either. And your death will make it much worse for us.
Yep, Sen. Elizabeth “Karen, I am a Native American, until DNA testing debunked that” Warren is a TikTok influencer wannabe. She is all about trying to find the next viral soundbite for votes. Actually getting anything done is nice, but not a priority or highly probable.

Powell put a target on his own back by repeatedly lying for the past year. Even if he's started talking sense, no believes him.

TOM are you not supporting PLTR anymore ? What happened. Did I miss a video on that ?
I can't see how or why somebody like Elizabeth Warren exists in politics without getting called out. Oh yeah I do, they are all at it.
Buy a new shirt bro.
Fantastic!
