Hey this is tom, and i got an amazing show for you today a lot to talk about peloton, some crazy developments coming out from that company. Believe it or not. We have some news coming out from the arm and nvidia deal it's falling apart and i'm gon na kind of dissect what the hell went on there and what's next, because development is quite interesting. Also gas prices, energy prices going through the roof, ukraine and russia actually might be cooling down.

As i predicted from two weeks ago, we're gon na talk about that. Google, actually lowering back after the initial high post earnings and also some crazy story from china, where a us olympian competed for china won gold. We absolutely have to talk about that story. That is insane all that and more coming up in just a second.

Let's start with the story from china before everything else, because this thing literally just blew my mind. Her name is eileen gu she's, 18 years old from san francisco, an american girl competing for china in the winter olympics winning gold. What just happened now don't get me wrong, everybody can choose where they can compete and i have literally zero issues with that. But you know, usually you see that kind of case happen when somebody can't make it to the us olympic team, because they're not good enough and they'll compete somewhere else.

I mean what would be the reason if you're a gold medalist not to compete under the u.s flag. I mean if she was born in china and she feels more connected to china whatever. But it's a us athlete, probably one of the best in the world just won gold born and raised in the us, father, american mother, chinese, and she chooses voluntarily, even though she's the best at what she does to compete for china. It's not like she had to go for china, because the us wouldn't take her.

Why would she do a crazy move like this? Well i'll explain to you my own theory and again this is just my opinion, which might be inaccurate, might be wrong by the ramblings of a madman. Do your research but here's my theory on why this was done. I believe the answer for this is greed, plain and simple, so this lady, this young lady, chose to be a superstar in china. This is almost kind of a north korean aspect.

She knew she was going to be utilized and used by the chinese communist party to showcase how much china is better than the us look. Even their best athlete a complete american chose to compete for our flag. She knew she's going to be used and utilized by the chinese communist party to showcase their own propaganda. She chose voluntarily to represent a country that supports human rights violations.

She did this for one reason and one reason: only greed. She knew that sweet, sweet money from sponsorships and the chinese government money is gon na kick in she's gon na be a superstar in china and all this money just made her feel so goddamn patriotic about chyna she's, a real patriot. Isn't she now? I think it's a shady ass move and i'll explain why if this was a u.s athlete i mean winning gold at winter olympics is nice, it's good. She probably gets a you know a serial commercial and a few mentions.
You know, maybe like a hundred thousand followers. 200. 000. Followers on twitter, it's nice, it's it! She gets a few.

You know morning shows, but none of what just went on yesterday, like this lady literally literally collapsed the chinese twitter. It literally the service collapsed from overload, there's so many people, these mother lovers from china, aren't even using her real name. They've created this chinese version of her name, gu ailing, which is not her real name and it's been promoted everywhere. Every show every aspect of what can be done with chinese sponsorship money.

You know flowing right into her lap. So when i see somebody selling out their own country to go, compete under the flag of an enemy of my own country, just for greed and money, because she knows she's gon na be a bigger superstar over there - that ain't cool there's a certain limit. Where i say well, this is not about the money anymore, so you voluntarily went to compete for a company you were not born in, even though you could have competed for the us, and you would have been very successful at it just to get that money from A country - that's literally a rival of the us and is a known violator of human rights, and you know what, if she's, so passionate about china. If she feels more connected to china might as well move there.

I mean. Why would you stay in this god-awful place? That is the u.s right just move to china relocate yourself. I don't know, i'm not telling her to move and i'm not telling her. She can't stay in the u.s.

All i'm saying is that if somebody is that passionate about another country, you know go live there, but then again, what do i know, i'm russian, so it's even worse than china. Now, let's talk about peloton for a change now, pelaton went through a little rollercoaster ride. Now i was wrong about peloton. I was very bullish about it through the pandemic.

I admit it. I completely screwed up, but ever since then i've been nothing but you know a hater. So, a few days ago we started hearing potential rumblings about an acquisition, amazon, apple nike and when the rumors hit peloton flew up by 40 percent literally 40 because of a rumor of a potential acquisition, i mean this is 2022. Nothing makes sense to me anymore.

It's time to bring back pets.com, i guess this is as bad as it gets now. The rumors pushed the stock so high that kind of ironically um they pretty much jeopardize or eliminate the potential of a deal. The whole reason this deal was about to happen is because peloton has become so cheap that either nike, amazon or apple are basically saying. Well, you know at this price, you know we'll just pick it up from the ground.

This you know we'll see what we can do with it. I mean so guard damn cheap. You know we'll just take it, but these retail investors have pushed the stock price so high over 10 billion dollars that they just closed that gap. They made it too expensive for that deal again so kind of ironically, the same people who were betting on the deal, basically um kind of killed it now.
What might happen is that now peloton might actually slow back down and kind of go back to that. Eight billion dollar region and in that market cap i do think a deal is possible. I think it's a piece of third and i was wrong about it. But then again you know apple might buy it.

You know if they can sell a phone for 1500. They can definitely sell a bike with an ipad. In fact, it actually fits with the whole ecosystem. Apple got going on with fitness and healthcare and the whole hardware stuff they got going on.

Maybe maybe we'll see what happens, but meanwhile, where we were sleeping, some exciting stuff happened. So, first of all, peloton ceo is stepping down they're firing 20 of their employees and they got a new ceo. His name is barry mccarthy he's the actual. You know he's a banker, he used to be the cfo of a bunch of companies and he actually took companies to a direct listing before so he's more of an investment banker and the money guy.

This kind of hiring actually signals. One thing it tells the market hey bear mccarthy is there to make this deal happen. It's gon na have to make peloton nice and pretty for the deal to make sense, we'll see if you can pull it off. Meanwhile, they just gave guidance for next year and it's actually down from 4.5 4.7, all the way to 3.6 3.7 billion, so they're actually getting worse.

So i don't know at this point at 10 billion or nine and a half billion dollars, whatever they're trading right now. It doesn't seem likely once it goes down towards the 8 billion area. We might actually see a deal, let's see what happens and now, let's talk about nvidia and arm the romans that could have been and yet never was. Both companies come out today and give their own obituaries why this deal ain't happening? Essentially, they got blocked by every regulator on the planet, because this is going to be literally a monopoly.

If you're not familiar with what arm is. I'm sure you heard of nvidia arm is pretty much a monopoly they're as good as tsmc or asml, in that business. Essentially, tsmc are quasi monopolistic in production asml, a dutch company which is a quasi monopoly in lithography machines, essentially the machines that build the machines and we got arm basically designing all these ships. All of the designs which pretty much you have on your desk is theirs.

So at this point we have a competitor of all of these other companies who are buying this designed or licensing the designs from arm trying to buy arm. Now, when you have the situation, the risk for competition actually becomes greater. So what happened is that basically nvidia said: hey, listen. I know all your model lovers are buying or licensing your designs from arm like we do and it's pretty much the gold standard so we'll buy it, but we want f with your business, so we promise pretty pretty.
Please we promised scout's honor we're not gon na. Have with your business, um and essentially the regulator, said, give us a break mother lovers. I mean we're not gon na. Let you get away with buying the only supplier of designs, because we can't control what you do after you promise really nice, and obviously the temptation to f with the business of your competitors through arm is just going to be too big when we don't trust you And in fact, why should we there's no reason so that whole deal fell apart now? I do want to talk briefly about what happened with google google spiked.

If you remember on earnings, and now they brought almost everything back down, so this is down to the 2700s. I'm gon na tell you right now, and i want to be very clear about this. This is my third biggest position and this is a 35 hundred dollar stock mark my words: google is a 3 500 stock. This is the perfect value and growth stock combined.

If scotty, pippen and michael jordan had a baby and that baby would have grown up to be an nba player that would have been google, it's a value company with massive growth that resembles startup level growth 40 per year, great margins, monopolistic power insane amount of r D, the smartest engineers - it literally, has no flaws. So if you were considering google and now it's back down a few percentage points to the 2700s, you know i just suggest you doing research, i'm obviously not going to recommend you any stocks, i'm not a financial advisor. That's not financial advice, just the ramblings of mad men. You know my own opinion.

The only thing i can tell you is that i urge you to research about google read for yourself. Look at the fundamentals, look at the price action and tell me what you think in the comments below and now. Let's talk about what's going on with russia and the ukraine, it seems that we have very interesting developments, so the french president macaroni whatever his name is. I don't know spaghettio so spaghettio went to fly and meet with the russian eminem look-alike vladimir putin and basically came back from the meeting saying well, putin said he's not gon na basically do anything about it.

It's just a you know: it's just a flicks, essentially what i've been claiming for the past two weeks, putin was essentially sending a message through spaghettio to let everybody know in the west. Hey. I just need something you know give me a ladder to clamp back down. Give me something here: i don't want to invade this country, which i don't need.

I don't want to be responsible for feeding all these people and keeping the lights on. I literally don't need this. I'm happy with you just giving me something. Give me a ladder to climb down now at this point: if war happens, it's gon na be one of the biggest cluster freaks of all time, because it's so easily avoidable.
Just give this man a cracker. Give him something let him climb down and get this thing over with, because otherwise we're going to keep seeing this price increases energy. This is getting out of control. Bp just reported the best earnings since, like eight years in the decades, energy prices are pushing up as it is because of inflation.

This conflict ain't happening. This needs to end right now, because a lot of people will suffer by increased prices of energy, and you definitely don't want to be at the hands of the people who control the prices. I mean at this point: if this keeps going on, you have to go to the you know to the cartel: let's call them that way and basically ask hey dudes: can you increase supply a little bit to lower the prices and you know reduce your own revenues And gross margins, please please, please, you know what the answer is going to be. I mean those guys are, you know, probably not going to do that, we'll see what happens as always a huge shout out to the channel members and opinions.

I hope you guys enjoy this video. If you have just do me, a favor give a hug to your loved one. Don't click, nothing, don't smash. Nothing, don't buy nothing but sign up for our patreon, which is five dollars per month.

I mean, Eileen has scholarship to go to Stanford. She has the ability to compete as team US, win the gold medal and take a crap ton of ads from sports brands like Nike, Lululemon and so forth. She's also a model, who can easily make money just on Instagram. And she's 50% Chinese, which mean she can still attract a lot of ads from Chinese brans without being on the Chinese team. So from a financial stand point, I don't see it making sense.
She has been planning to be on this Olympics when she was 13, and she's only 18 today. If she had planned all this; to be a propaganda machine for the Chinese just to make money at such a young age, while being born and raised in the US, then there is seriously something wrong with the US education system lmao.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars critical thinking says:

The girl had not been 18 when she made the decision, which was made by her Chinese mother.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Canis Majoris says:

    Sounds like she's investing wisely.
You should know Tom, don't you invest in Google?

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tony Tsai says:

โ€œRussia is worst than Chinaโ€??? I guess it would depends on which parts of these 2 countries are being compared.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Blackwiz says:

Well maybe she is a dual citizen if her mother is chinese? In some countries, Nigeria for example, I am considered a dual citizen because my parents were born there even though I was born and grew up in the United States. If they paid her very well, she could just compete for China, make the money and come back to the US and live her life.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MiceRice says:

Eileen really is a great kid and deserves some slack! Ya it sucks that she is skiing for China but she also made room on the US team for Hannah Fullhaber. I hate the confluence of politics and Olympic sports! To all the Haters consider sponsoring the US ski team, the funding absolutely sucks now and its all privately funded unlike most of the rest of the world. She will do a lot for the sport by growing it in China and that tide will rise all boats.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Misher says:

Meh. Who cares. She's making 10s of millions of dollars (at the CCP behest of course) and is a huge propaganda win for the CCP. Everyone here would do the same thing.

It'll just be hilarious when she continues her ant-asian hate SJW social media stuff and be called out for taking millions from a repressive regime and blatant abuser of human rights.ย
Money from China ain't free. There will be a script to follow from the Ministry of Propaganda. She's either fully aware of the risks and wants the money or is just blatantly naive.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Briguy says:

Slow news day when you gotta talk about
Olympic athletes on a financial channel. Let her get that paper. American athletes go homeless

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tommy says:

At the end of the day is about the money. Maybe someone here screwed her out of the opportunity. You train your butt off and get over looked. Then the US as whole spends Billions on items from their. It's a world market. And in a world market the only person looking out for you,is you

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Samuel says:

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ben Banks says:

you provide very good financial content but i think leave the politics out will be better. there are many other athletes who does the same. athletes should not be pull into the cross fire of dirty poltics

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Razvan says:

What is more American than selling yourself to China? I see Americans, organizations and individuals (collectivists watch out) do this consistently.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sean Ferris says:

We shouldn't care about the Olympics. No offense to Athletes. They're obviously the best in their sports, but it literally doesn't matter.

For my entire life, the Olympics has just been a weird money-grabbing scheme that preys on our love of sports and ability to overlook whatever's going on just to focus on sports and treat athletes like performing animals who are obligated to the public (which they aren't) rather regular people who just happen to be very athletic.

It's fine to love sports and be a huge fan, but they do this on purpose to distract us from everything that actually matters. It's so simple. If I don't want you to care or learn about certain things, I promote distractor topics and hype them up to focus your attention there.

Again, no offense. Sports are cool. But they don't matter.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevin Prociw says:

Tom your're 100% right. Why do you guys think her family left communist China to come to the USA in the first place? and She's coming back to go to Stanford? such BS. She should stay there in communism if she likes it so much…I'm interested in what her thoughts are on Peng Shuai? but dammit…that girl can ski!

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Excelray1 says:

Naomi Osaka gave up her US citizenship to play for Japan in tennis. No one made a fuss. But if it's China everyone loses their minds.

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stergios Mavroudis says:

If all Algerian and Moroccan football players didnt play for France there would be no Euros and no World Cups. Same for Spain, Emgland etc. Why not? Sports are just sports.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars autojack says:

Pretty dumb. She's a kid, patriotism for her mom's country is totally natural. Also you have no idea what America's human rights record is with HER. Racism is still a thing here. She skis 10 hours a day, she's a kid, she's part Chinese, it doesn't seem strange at all. And as for the name, you realize that we Americanize every single foreign word or name we say, right? China is pronounced Zhลngguรณ for instance.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike McC says:

@tom what does the Nvidia deal due to Intel and their future of semiconductor production will this increase their ramp up to get operating and will it bump their share price. Even though they are several years away from competing with tsmc

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Saul says:

I agree she is just trying to rack in the money. I hope she doesnโ€™t come back to the US.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert P says:

Exactly Tom! I stopped watching the Olympics when it became a monetizing, drug-ridden events.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Meehan says:

Yo Tom, do you own any stocks that get materials, manufacture products, etc from China? Seriously. Yes, it's a shame that she did that, but seriously.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lena J says:

Tom, Youโ€™re reaching and projecting your own worst motivations onto this young lady and her family. She already has sponsorships way before the Olympics and got accepted to Stanford with 1580 SAT score. She has a bright future regardless of whether she wins gold or not. Competing for China is actually a risky decision for her, and she did to inspire the young girls in China for winter sports. Stop with the smear campaign.
We come here for your investment and financial research, not your sour and Iโ€™ll-informed political stance.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Daniel De Blasio says:

Why is Putin hoarding gold? China has been hoarding gold for decades? I think it's time to invest in gold Tom?

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Vi says:

Genuine queston: How would you equate her competing for China to TSLA (and other US companies) making cars/ other items in China? I haven't seen many TSLA bulls call for China's factory to be shut down because of human rights. Where do you draw that line?
