Large cap stocks continued to be volatile. Stocks like $CCL $AAL $RCL $ZM $ROKU still provide us lots of range long/short. They were good traders with SPY.
It's worth noting that usually when the large cap markets are volatile with earnings release etc... the small caps tend to lag behind. So I'm expecting the cheaper low floats to be slower in the coming weeks. Some good examples of penny stock gappers were $ICD $WORX $APDN $BMRA $MOSY.

So we had the really wild starts with a small caps and, as you can see, I will short bias on the stock, but just because, when you're short bias, you still have to respect your stop and you know wait for the better increase. I was shorting here. Pre market and add it on the reject of pre market highs and covered into the flushes into this $ 8.00 area, and I tried to really add some. But you know when there's a lot of volume, you can see this volume squeeze coming in four hundred thousand and the nature around eight hundred thousand shares.

That's where I got stopped out and I'm glad I did. I stopped down the short you can always reinter. It short after seeing weakness sure that some more here around 11s I'm covered into the flush try to reshoot some more smaller ones after V. Wap is breaking down.

I thought no we're done, but you can see this stock is really resilient in the flushes. I bought up added some more here and try it a little bit more short, but I don't want to fight it too hard. That's why? Yes, I covered into the flush to nine 40s, but when it quickly rejected the lows and reclaim v1, that's when I got stopped out - and I just left the stock alone for the rest of the day - and you know I take a break through midday as you Can see - and this is where you see, this kind of low flow shenanigans started to come back, no stock held the lows again and then reclaiming the WAP and after reject holding a higher low and started ramping power. Our a nice little wing on this one.

But the better when you're on the day was WRX again, this one was still short biased. Just because, no, if you look at this data chart, you know this chart and then at the open know, especially when seven dollars kid keep on rejecting and we were selling off pretty heavy from nine dollars already pre market and that's when they started trapping shorts. Thinking that this is gon na be an easy short no for me, I was, in short, I think, get long on the stock at all. In hindsight you know, maybe I should have after we, we reclaimed the you up and started ramping higher, but you know I just kind of left it alone, but you know I still respected my risk sure there's some more here but shorter, the bigger pop at the Open coverton knew the flush reassure that some and covered row here when we started to make a double bottom on the stock and we shorted some more again but really quickly covered.

Don't want to outstay my welcome, especially when I'm shorting ICD at the same time as well a lot of times, I'm shorting, these low floats. I cover way too soon, but this is one of those times. I I'm really glad I just take the meat of the moving it didn't outstay my welcome and get squeezed all the way up to. You know $ 14 this and all that shorts blowing up on the stock and also ICD today, so again, whether you're, long or shorts just need to respect your risk and recognize when you're wrong the loser on the day, really small loser as CCL.

It's a larger cap that I took the loser sure to here and added some more on the video up reject and you know when starts reclaim. That's why I got out. You can see later on started working, but you know took a loss on this and took another loss on this and near the end of the day, just didn't work out. So for me, I'm really proud of the way I traded today kept my loser small and kept my winner, big and, at the same time didn't outstay.
My welcome and get short squeezed so had a really decent day, and while everyone is watching this son of a gun going from nine dollar suit, sixteen dollars, I wasn't waiting for a slower play on roku. You can see they had some positive news coming out overnight, with the guidance and growing subscription numbers and whenever Roku gaps up overnight, in this case it gapped up from $ 96 all the way to about $ 112. No sixteen dollars gap up overnight. Roku is one of those stocks are sell off really hard on the gaps.

So that's exactly what happened today. In hindsight, I wish I had a flexibility to go short, but I was actually looking for after the stock sells off too long on the bottom curl to go long, the stock you can see, I went long here, sold some and when stays heavy, I sold the Rest and I'm waiting lower over here around 102 and the sold some and added back in around 103.9 to and sold into the push 106 and then 107 so know this is one of those stocks. What's the trends it has a lot of upside. You know it really gave us know five six dollars to the upside.

So if your patience, if you planned all your entries, so you can do really well on these large cap stocks and they are slow moving. So if you don't like the volatility in Moe, floats penny stocks, you know ISO and Sun, no Dan Sun, like you know you can see the stock squeezed from $ 9 to 16. But it's like on the front side yeah. It looks really hard, but you know: look at the backside, no bounce whatsoever.

You know I'm really just sold off from $ 14, all the way back to single digits at the end of the day. So you know I don't really want to get caught in any of that you know mess. So that's why I stayed away and no traded stock that I'm more comfortable with and have more confidence in in that case was in broken and at the end of day, as you can see, I went back for a little bit more long. I gave back some profit, that's the loss at the end of the day, the other smaller tray, that's also not pretty slow, but no still was pretty decent.

I'm sure daddy KS around here and risky in the previous day's close. So that's why I was adding him bigger to full size around 24 80s and covered into here. It was really slow and no it's just a small 50 60 cents gain and good thing. I covered because we just kind of reclaimed and went red to green on the day ba this is you know the end of the day trade where we had a huge rung up all the way from you know, 104 o was her 140 all the way to 148 and you're just shorting the extension similar trade to Roku, but this this one is slightly different because there's a lot of intraday extension or just shorting into the end of the day profit-taking and we had a nice little close on Bowen.
So it would be very interesting to how this opens up tomorrow. The bigger winner on the day was apt n. This is a you know. Stock like created many times in the past before you can tell by you, know, looking at daily charts on the stock right and a very dirty dilutive stock s3 and a lot of past offering and dilution in history.

So that's why I was scaling. In short, it's really scary to short the front sight and that's why I didn't have a huge size until we actually truly broke down the 767. That's why you know when you're a lot bigger, but overall, it's very nice trade short it around. Here, 860 s covered some covers some more and no keeping some core size allowing me to add.

If we do push and retest 850 s again once we are really really weak and breaking down. That's when you add the backing and covered here cover here and of course always you know, miss a lot more to the downside, but that's something I'm working on, but there are a lot of circumstances in the past week, where I'm really glad I took the meat Of the move and didn't you know out, statement welcome and give back because of all these low floats small cap. Any socks being dripping like crazy and final trade on today is Delta. The airline stocks such as American Airlines, Delta and Southwest and the couple others be United, one of them the entire sector gapped up overnight because of the deal reached with a stimulus package.

But then they started selling off pre market and give it back. Give him back a lot of the games and that's why I went in short after we broke down this 25 70s level when, in short and no, I was trying to focus on APTN and that's why I covered. Instead, you know this would have been a nice push to add back to full size on a short position, but you know it's difficult for me to handle and manage a lot of full size positions wearing in multiple trades at the same time. But that's something I'm gon na improve and maybe just you know, small size Shores later owners you can see it played out.

According to my plan, once this level breaks down, you know we keep on breaking down to 25 previous day's close and even lower on the daily chart. So I missed a lot of downside on this. So definitely there's something to be. You know learned in every single loss and also same as the winds right like in this case, and I could have capitalized a lot more and adding back to my winners and made a lot more money to the downside and I planned for it to know pre-market.

Every single day, so I just need to carry this out and have more patience and execute my trade so had a few good trades today. So, let's start with the loser on a date. First on Bed, Bath & Beyond not Best Buy it's a BBB. Why not? Bb, why, like a confused at first, so literally stopped me out at the bottom right here on five-dollar support and in hindsight I should have gave it more chance.
I just didn't really like the way it sold off the spike in the morning and then how fast we dumped to $ 5. So I just stopped out on the street for loss on the long side and, as you can see after stopping me out right at the bottom, we rebounded back to five 20s five 40s and then later I'm making a move after hours. So it is what it is. We had no good earnings with guidance, so we'll likely see more upside on this tomorrow.

Look at the volume on a daily chart, the MRA. This is a short trade. They had some PR release in the middle of the day. In a stock literally spiked from $ 8 to $ 11, it's on low floats.

You know bag holder chart if you look at a steady rise shorting this over here and on this day. So today it's a similar setup didn't have the best fills the best entry was up here on 1120s, but you can see I started out on a starter size way too early, but that's why you need to scale in no float stock like this. I'm shorting to this and then covered some and added some more on the breakdown where we stayed heavy and cover down here and accidentally long some. So I just have to get out if I'm accidentally in a trade I didn't intend to be in, but a really nice short trade from around 11:00 40s.

All the way down here at best cover was nine dollars, nice little gainer on the day, the other stock was, i m OS y. So we just had this low flow to run. I just kind of came out of nowhere. If you look at this stock ran from 150 all the way to 460 within what within 10 minutes it's crazy.

I think they had some headline release, or was it like a reverse split, but look at this right came. L know where it looks like a looks like a pump like a PR pump or something but also extremely low floats. I think one or two million shares float. That's why the stock spiked from $ 2 all the way to you, know doubling and started scaling.

In short, after the jung-ho to you know, if you, if you look at this voting rate, if we are hold and there's no volume whatsoever, the stock is gon na plummet and that's the idea behind this. I'm sure this uncovers some more and we short it over here at the breakdown after I've seen that it's literally no one buying this stock. Everyone who bought in here is taking profit and that's. Why short it and cover it into the support here, and so that's the short trade on the day.

So it's Friday, I think I'm done for the day a couple of trades today and pretty clean so far, the first ones that was mrna this one. We had a gap up from you know forty dollars a day before all the way up to fifty dollars, pre market. So when you have a gap up like this ten points gap up, you know it's most likely we're gon na see at these some sorts of profit, taking I'm not saying like the stock, is gon na, take all the way from 50 back to 37, but it's Safe to expect some sort of pullback right - and in this case once we broke this key level that I was watching around 47 dollars once we broke this key 47 dollar level and the selling ball would come sing and we cannot hold. I started shorting the Pops risking the reclaim of forty seven dollars cover some cover, some going to the dump and cover some more into previous supports over here, and I tried a little bit more of rish Hort, but it was actually stronger than I thought sure.
There's somewhere here and adding and bigger after this quick wick right here and covered the rest, and I didn't want to go back - and you know over trade again so overall, two nice short trade MRNA, so the second trade on the day Roku I went short and Then I went long short, because market was in a pulling back, there's also the 200 SMA around 124 30s area on the daily chart. Once we broke down that level, you can see this really clean line once you break down we're gon na retest, the next with support level down. That's why waiting short other market open covered most of the here, and I try to go in for a small side. Long too long a bounce, because Roku is one of those stocks that, when your bounces it bounces pretty big, especially when there is.

You know positive news from a couple of days ago. So this the fundamental catalyst and there's also the technical setup scale ding solely and trimming some taking some profit along the way on the long side and then took the most of the profit. Here I try to go back again long and then short, just the the back side of the trade. You still work out for me.

So that's why a lot of times you know the first few trades, the first one in two trades are the best and when I go back, I get chopped up so gave back some profit up here. But overall it's a really nice short trade and a long trade and Roku. I think I'm pretty much done for the day now. There's a couple other things I'm still watching, but Fridays tend to be the worst days for me.

So I try to keep it simple in trading only in the first hour and the first hour and a half and just gon na observe the market from now. So hopefully we get some more nice continuation next week. When you look at a stock you plan on trading, and se the pre-market gappers, & it is a gap up.

    1. Do you buy right when the pre-market opens or do you let it play out?

    2. What is a pattern that you have observed regularly on upward gappers? Meaning do they tend to dip down then beginning up or do they typically shoot up & then take their normal path? Then…why for your response?

Would you bother trading OTC penny stocks? Or do you think liquidity is dead in OTCs and that you wouldn’t bother?

I need help. Can you possibly do a video on days to cover shorts? I'm practicing on Webull (via your link) on shorting. Sure, I hang on to the losers for a couple of day, making lots of fake money. But in the real world, I have no idea how long they would let me hold these POSs. Nasdaq has a list of some sort, I know. But…. it would be so cool if you could address this. thanks so much. BTW, WOW… look at SNAP today. Good one

Hi there, my name is josh and I have a question about interactive brokers. I was wondering if this was true of the live accounts as well or does it improve?

    Hi Humbled Trader,

Aside of those penny stocks that you're trading, do you have other penny stocks that are not prone for 'fast gap up/spike up' play. As I observed those penny stocks charts that you're trading, this kind of play is not my thing.

Do you have other penny stocks that are not prone for 'fast gap up/spike up' play?
