Annual fees right, everybody has credit cards who some have big annual fees. I'm talking about the Centurion card. The annual fee based off of American Express's website is $ 2,500 per year. Then you have some other cars are just a little bit more.
I'm sorry a little bit less like the the Chase Sapphire reserved for 450 hours a year. These cards come with perks. These cards come with fees. A lot of youtubers have been doing videos as far as the cars that they have currently and the annual fees that they bring.
So that's what I'm gon na do today, I'm gon na give you guys my annual fees off of the five cards that I have in my pocket that do you know that I have annual fees. So, let's get right into this video make sure you subscribe for the Amazon gift card giveaway once we hit 2000 or scribers, let's get into the video, let's find out how much I'm paying annual fees per year, and is it really worth it? Let's get right into the video all right, so the first up is going to be the red aviator card by Berkeley. This is a card for American Airlines. This card has a ninety five dollar annual fee.
It is not waived the first year, but what you do is you get a nice signup bonus, sixty thousand points, but I mean my first purchase. Okay, so I had to pay ninety five dollars for the annual fee. I got 60,000 American Airlines Advantage miles, which is pretty awesome and some of the perks you get is like free check back for up to you and for people things like that. So this card, I'm a keep in my wallet, I'm just specifically for that purpose.
Right there, you also get preferred boarding, not priority, but kind of like preferred boarding, and things like that. So this is one of the reasons I have this in my car. The reason I got American Airlines are not like a delta or something like that. Just yet America Airlines is the biggest hub for a Philadelphia Airport and that's where I'm located in.
So that's why I got this cart, this card again $ 95, so we're gon na keep a tab right over on this side. As far as with the annual fees are so so far, we got ninety five dollars so pretty much almost a hundred dollars, then I'm paying every year annual fees. And yes, this is worth it for sure. I'm, if you don't know a lot of check bags check bags can cost a lot, and if you have four people going with you, you know both ways.
It can cost you a lot of money. So this kind of just saves me that just trying to get go and the sound of bonus was hard to miss 60,000 points only for $ 100. Definitely it makes it worth of free year, one so the first card again the red Avery of the cart bar Berkeley American Airlines. The second cart that I have is the American Airlines City advantage.
Platinum, select, cart! This is from city card, it is a MasterCard. It is the Platinum, select, cart. Now, no, I have another American Airlines card we just talked about, which is this one? Why do I have both? Well, I want to sign a bonus just for both of them total. This gave me little over a hundred and twenty five thousand dollars after I had to meet the spending requirements and all that for this card, one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars mouse American Airlines event amount of inches Mouse. So that is really awesome and I'm still using these Mouse. I still have about sixty five thousand American Airlines advantage Mouse. So pretty awesome. I got both of those cards.
I actually got this card first and then I decided to go ahead and get this one. The reason I got this one first was because the annual fee for this one is $ 99. It actually went up four dollars and was 95 when I got it, but the first year the annual fee is waived. Okay, so I got that card first.
I didn't want to pay an annual fee at first and I'm like listen, I'm going to get this card first, I'm gon na travel off of this one first and then later I'll go ahead and get this one. So so far we have 99. We got 95. The reason I got this again specifically for the sign up bonus, the hub is big here in America, Airlines and Philadelphia International Airport.
It just made sense for me to get both cards, get both signup bonuses and pretty much travel. You know pretty good. I am going to be doing a really nice, probably big Redemption, on these mouths pretty soon I kind of use them. So what I do typically with these mouths, I kind of do my domestic travel.
I did it for the first like 60,000 miles. I did a lot of um domestic travel and they have American Airlines has reduced mileage Awards where you can actually fly for very, very small. I'm talking. Maybe you know what was the $ 7,500 per waste re 70 phone for 7,500 miles per way? It was from Philadelphia to Myrtle Beach, so total I paid what 15,000 miles total plus, I believe, like $ 11.20 and taxes each way, so it was very again.
I don't know I remember too much, but I remember something like that: only a 15,000 miles round-trip, which is pretty awesome. So it's been saving me a lot of money for my kind of domestic, very quick haul type trips, but for the next 60,000. I want to kind of do something: big, maybe like a business class, a first class trip, something that I normally wouldn't do with money. So again.
The second card is the city advantage platinum, select card, it's a really good car. The third card that I got in my wallet is this one, I'm sorry for all the tape, but I had to kind of you know, cover up all the important information, so nobody sees this card anymore. This card is actually no longer existent as far as the design. This is actually the SPG card or the Marriott bon voyage car.
That's actually non-existent anymore. This card doesn't exist, but this card did exist not too long ago. So if you got this card before the cards closed down, SPG Marriot rich card still needed a merger. This was the SVG card and when this was SPG points, all my goodness this on a bonus was awesome like. I have a whole video about that, but I got this card solely at that point. For the sound a bonus for SPG, it was a really nice redemption. As far as this now, this is a ninety five dollar annual fee. It is waived the first year so the second year you get hit with the angle fee of ninety five dollars.
So it's gon na actually have a different designer on it. These cards should be coming in the mail pretty soon. I believe Amex that by the end of April belief, if I'm not mistaken, so you know I'll definitely be doing an unboxing of it. If you really care to see just, let me know in the comment section below, but this is the third card.
I got ninety five dollars this card. It has a 95 an annual fee, but now what they're doing is giving you a redemption, I'm actually gon na, show you on a website. So this is actually a third-party website. This is actually offered nerd wallet, so this is just kind of giving credit to them, but this card again $ 0 annual fee for the first year, like I said I think, February 2019 was the last time you can apply for this card.
It looks like May of 2019. You were able to get the new card design, which I just showed you above that's what it's going to look like, but the redemption is pretty awesome. Thirty five thousand points is the max per year per army year. You can use one night award so up to 35,000 Marriot bomb reports, which is a pretty awesome redemption rate.
It's definitely worth a lot more than the 35 started $ 95 annual fee and I'll actually put a calculation of how much thirty five thousand points can get. You as far as per night, typically I like a normal hotel. It's definitely worth paying this, so all I have to do is pay $ 95 to get a really nice hotel stay per year. It's definitely worth it alright.
So that's when I got the third car. So we got 99 dollars $ 95 and under $ 95 in your feet, so just a little under three hundred dollars - and here comes - the two bigger cards got in my pocket as far as the annual fees, alright, so the next card - and everybody knows I am A big big, a mess person just make sure I'm covering it up. It is the American Express gold card. This is the rose gold card, it was limited edition.
Yes, I have the pink card, the rose gold card. I had the PRG if the premier rewards gold card prior. I wanted to do something different. The metal rose gold card that you can long or have no longer can get anymore, but um.
I got this card now. This annual fee is now two hundred and fifty dollars per year, but the perks outweigh this sort of mid kind of mid tiered annual fee. It's not the highest, but it's kind of high on the high side. Let me kind of just show you what the perks are so we're getting four points for membership with war points per dollar at US.
Restaurants. Four points, membership war points at us, supermarkets up to 25,000 per year, which is pretty awesome. A lot of people can definitely benefit from that. I don't spend twenty five thousand dollars a year at supermarkets, so I'm definitely getting four points pretty much. Unlimited Li and less I'm super rich three points per dollar on a flights booked directly with Amex travel or directly on the Airlines. So if you don't have any other index card that gives you more value than definitely use this. You get the three points per dollar. 120 dollar of dining credit that is kind of given to you, just like the uber credit, with Amex Platinum Card up to ten dollars a month at the Cheesecake Factory, Shake Shack grub hub, seamless places that people use grub hub is awesome, Cheesecake Factory, delicious and then The 100 - I like airline feed credit, you can use this towards bags and flight.
You know in-flight meals on American Express up to a hundred hours per year. You just have to pick in your airline, so that is why I have this card. This card is definitely worth it two hundred and fifty dollars. You get a lot more value out of this card, especially that four points per dollar on the gas.
Sorry, the supermarkets and the restaurants really really awesome. You really can't beat that. So that is the third card that I have sort of the fourth card, so we have 250. We have 95 99 and 95 okay.
So here is the biggest card. I'm sure you guys kind of know. So let's get right into this one. This is the final car.
This is the Amex Platinum Card. Again guys. You know I am a big Amex guy now. I know a lot of people talk about Amex and their travel protection, and I understand that and it's kind of like playing with fire.
Sometimes, if you're booking with you know things like this, so I get it, but this is my biggest car with an annual fee that I'm currently using right. Now I don't have the Chase Sapphire reserve at this point and the reason as that is because you have to wait 48 months to get the sign-up bonus. I'm not just going to apply for a card pay $ 450, not getting a signup bonus, because I've had the card about three years ago. I have to chase off our preferred card just to get travel trip, delay insurance baggage, the lan stories, like all that stuff.
I'm just not going to do it. I want to get to sign up bonus, and I also want to get to protection so next year I'll definitely get the chase out of our reserve card, but for now this is the card I have in my wallet. That is my one of my favorite cards now I have this card and I also have the AMEX card both charge cards. The reason I have both is because they kind of help each other out.
This is going to give you more value on flights directly with the airline. This is only three points per dollar. This is five points per dollar, so I'm definitely going to always booked my flights with this card if anything before our book with this, but you know this card gives you status at hotels like Marriott Hilton, Centauri, lounge access priority pass access, the sex with Avenue credit. The uber credits, the $ 200 airline credit - I mean you just keep going on and on and on this card - is definitely worth it. I'll actually put a video in the description I get over a thousand dollars every year and value with this card. This card only really makes sense and other you know this card to these cards really only makes sense, especially this one if you travel. This is more like the perk card. I don't want you to sit here and make your everyday spinning on this you're.
Only gon na get one point per dollar besides flights booked directly with the airline or the new Hotel Collection, fine hotels and resorts 5 points per dollar now, so you're only gon na be doing that with this card, but this card is going to give you status Status perks, all the good stuff. This card is gon na be the card you want to go out to restaurants. The cards you want to, you know, go to the supermarket with etc. If you don't have another card, it's kind of giving you a better kind of redemption rate.
So those are the cards, we got 550, we have 250, we have 95, we have 99 and we have 95 again. I believe so. Let me just look at one more time: five, 52, 50, 95 and 99 and 95. So we're looking at slightly under eleven hundred dollars in annual fees per year.
Is it worth it? Yes, like? I said this card alone gives me over a thousand dollars of value. So definitely worth it in my opinion, I know there are other youtubers out there who have a lot more cards right now, I'm sitting on about 10 or 11 credit cards, which is not bad, and a lot of people got tons of more credit cards with a Lot more annual fees and that's them I'll get to that role. When I come to it, you know, but that's what I have. What do you guys think about the annual fees that I have? What do you guys think about the cards that I have my wallet? They have annual fees.
Eventually, one of these two cards will go, I'm not going to keep both of these cards. I just wanted to wait that year before I close one of the other one, to be honest with you, I'm probably just going to close the card. It costs more money, which is this one, because this the perks are not really much but they're kind of run the same thing. So if I can save four dollars, you know a year just why not? Okay, so guys, please, let me know if you like this video, it give me a thumbs up.
These are the cars that I have in my water. They give me and your feet. What are your thoughts on applying for multiple credit cards at once?
So credit maestro what if I get the AMEX Platinum but don’t spend 5k within 3 months???
Hey bruh, I told you a few months ago that I'd use your link the next time I apply for an Amex card and I just did today and was approved for the Hilton Honors no AF card. Enjoy your referral points. It's my 3rd Amex card so imma gonna leave Amex alone for a bit, don't wanna trigger a Financial Review lol.
I have the Amex Gold and I’m considering getting the CSR or the Amex Plat to get the sign-up bonus, however I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to spend 5k in 3 months. Any suggestions on how you met the dollar threshold for sign-up bonus points?
Definitely a great video
Capital One Platinum secured – no annual fee
QuickSilver One – $39.
Credit One Bank -$99 which is a terrible card imo!!!
I have The AmEx gold, Platinum, and SPG now Bonvoy. I just upgraded my AmEx BCE to Blue Cash Preferred with $95 AF.. Total AF = $990
Amex Platinum, 5x on airfare and 1x on hotels UNLESS you book through their travel portal, and 1x on any and everything else. The Uber credit gets slashed by nearly 30-50% just from the booking fee and the SAKS credit is a joke…$50 bucks, thats Amex poor attempt to justify the fee for this card. The CSR, 3x on hotels, airfare, car rentals, trains, bus passes, subways, garages, tolls, parking lots, etc. Primary car rental insurance DOMESTIC and abroad. Trip delay/interruption, and bonus categories on dining as well even when you're out of the country. Amex Platinum gets none of this but charges $100 more/yer and has $100 LESS on travel credits that the CSR which again, is very generous. Only thing going for this card is the Centurion lounge which is a bit overrated in my opinion; you're not getting steak and lobster domestically in the Centurion lounges, they're very limited and extremely crowded as they're mostly located in VERY POPULAR airports. And lastly I know folks will mention hotel status from the card…lets be honest…Gold @ Marriott is completely watered down since the merger. No free bumps unless you're staying off-peak or at a hotel no one wants to visit. JFK, LAX, ATL, DTW, SEA, SFO, SAN – too many Marriott Platinum/Titanium folks in these area to get a free bump when you're only Gold. You may get a little more from Hilton but not very much. For the sake of stirring the pot with Walt, I'd venture to say that one would be better off with CSR or just keeping their annual fee in their pocket and spending that saved money at restaurants in the airport…especially if you're traveling only a few times a years. BUT with that being said, the Amex Platinum is a decent choice ONLY IF you can't get the CSR…in my humbled opinion. LOL! Alright Walt, I've rambled…not let me have it. I know I'm asking for it with this post. LOL!!!
Hahaha, Yep, I'm the one always mentioning the Amex Platinum's lack of features making it a benefits cards rather than a travel card…in my humbled opinion. But I know many folks love the card, and I like it, don't love it…but dropping it at next annual fee due to its lack of features.
Good video, even though I’m a bit late, luckily it wasn’t a live stream lol
Your annual fees are a lot more reasonable than others. I pay around 650.
👏👏 Great vid!
They still give that spg card out when you get the bonvoy business until June
Just downgrade to the no AF AA card instead of closing it.
