What's up, everybody welcome back to the channel, so today's video is going to be about the AMEX gold card or the a max platinum card, alright, both of these side by side. This is the platinum if the camera is not really strong again, this is the rose gold, which one is better, which one is better for you not which one is better because everybody is a pain, is different, which one is better for you. That's today's video, as you guys can tell this - is day number 2. I had a video yesterday and now it's video today, so I'm going to get onto this 2 to 2 week.

Videos, okay! So we're going to do two videos. Every week we're gon na try to get this going, the more videos more concert for you guys. I know you guys will love it so make sure you give me a thumbs up for that. I'm gon na do my best.

Even if I'm tired, no excuses two videos a week, they may be back-to-back some weeks, maybe Wednesday Thursday, they may be Monday Thursday, but it's gon na be two videos a week. This is what you guys, one of the super gon na give to. So, let's get right into this video again, what card is best for you, Amex gold card, Amex, platinum card: let's go I'm going to start off by saying again I have both of those cars as you can see, and they both are really great cards. So, even if you don't know which one to do or you do decide, if you do decide to get one of the cards, just make sure you show love is, of course, the channel by applying for the credit card, either or or any other American Express card With the link below in the description that will help this channel out, so I can travel more, so I can vlog more and do all that good stuff, for you give you more content.

So if you decide to apply for any of these cards or any other American Express cards hit that link in the description, the MX refer like that really helped me out. I greatly appreciate it all right, so we're going to get started first with the Amex gold card. This is the rose little colorway, but this is just a mess go-kart. So let me head on over to the laptop for this one.

Alright. So right now, with the a mex gold card, it looks like there is a non-targeted offer for 50,000 membership of war points after you spend two thousand on purchases in the first three months. I guys keep in mind. I'm actually doing this in incognito mode, as you can see.

So here are the perks right now. Four points premier for membership reward points per dollar at restaurants worldwide, which was just recently changed from US only two restaurants worldwide, which is awesome. Four points per dollar at supermarkets up to 25k air, which is really good. I personal spent twenty five thousand, but even if I did go four times 25 there's a hundred, that's a hundred thousand a mix points that you can get just off of supermarkets alone.

Three points per dollar: when you book flights directly with airlines or Amex travel and enhanced $ 120 dining credit, which is an increment to ten months, you can use it for a GrubHub seamless, cheesecake factory, boxed, Shake Shack, a 100 dollar airline credit. You can do this for check bags, injury and a flight mill. You got to pick your airline things of that nature. No foreign transaction fees, payment flexibility.
You still get things like the roadside assistance, so let's go into that roadside assistance, no foreign transaction fees on the hotel collection, which is really nice. You get $ 100 hotel credit to spin qualifying dying, dining spa and resort activities, baguette insurance, planned car rental loss and damage insurance, keep in mind. It is secondary and not primary roadside assistance up to four times per year, which has helped me out a couple of times and even friends. A couple of times this year, return protection dropped your phone things of that nature.

Amex offers the Amex referral thing. So that is the Amex gold card. Now all this comes up to a whopping annual fee of two hundred and fifty dollars per year. It's not waived for the first year, so it is an expensive card.

But if you're looking at something like the dining credit, which is already a hundred dollars and you're, also looking at the the dining credit - and you also go to the airline credit, so you got two fifty minus two hundred that brings it down to fifty dollars. Okay, so just that off the back really brings it down, helps it out big-time. So if you can really justify paying fifty hours or more for this card, then most definitely so that's the card, as far as with the MS go car and let's get into the AMX Platinum Card, all right, so Amex Platinum Card, this car that this current time Is offering seventy five thousand membership reward points and again guys? I am on incognito mode, so make sure you click the referral link in this bio. I am sure you're gon na get a targeted offer just like this.

If you spend five thousand purchases in the first three months, that's awesome because typically the its 60,000, so right now it's seventy-five thousand so definitely take advantage of her guys. Click that link in the description, uber rides, will platinum and getting you get this in increments of 15 dollars. You get a bonus of 20, so a 35 in December to total 200 annually five points, membership, probably membership war points per dollar. Will flights booked directly with Airlines AMX travel 5x with prepaid hotels, booked on AMX travel, calm, you get a 200 airline credit as opposed to the gold card.

You can use this again for the same thing: check bags and light refreshments, etc. You get a Global Entry. Slash TSA PreCheck fee credit, every four and a half years, I'm gon na have to get a hundred dollars back or 85, depending on which you apply. For you also get fine hotel resorts the Global loans you get.

Some tory allows access Hilton gold status, Marriott gold status again, the Hotel Collection $ 100 hotel credit, platinum, travel service, no foreign transaction fees, the shops, acts with platinum is really awesome as well. You get $ 100 per year. It's broken down into increments of two, so $ 50, so from January through June, and then also July through December $ 50 back, which I haven't used mine yet so I just remind myself to do so. The concierge is really amazing.
By invitation only extended warranty, the Partridge magazine, you know to me the departures magazine is really much, in my opinion, just like a bunch of advertisement, but it's kind of cool to look at when you're kind of just bored you'll also get complimentary additional gold cards up To 99, which you can actually use and which is really awesome with this, is you can have people use the account and really, you know, rack up points for you. You also get Priority Pass, select, which is really awesome when you're in hotels, sorry, not hotels, when your airports can have to go out tremendously, so this comes up for a whopping five hundred and fifty dollar annual fee. So I know this one is a lot more than the Amex gold card now, which one is best for you, so I'm gon na break it down for you, and I want you guys to decide now. Here is the situation.

I have two situations for you. If you are somebody who travels five or more times a year, maybe even ten - you know you have your favorite airline, you typically book directly with Airlines. Travel is more important to you, then points. Definitely MX platinum is better for you because you don't care about the four points per dollar at supermarkets.

You don't care about the four points per dollar and restaurants. You care about travel. You travel enough to get value out of the index Platinum Card. Again, I get at least a thousand dollars plus and value, and I'm being it very, very fair when I say that I'm sure it's more than a thousand dollars.

Every year I get a thousand plus value status, matching Marriott status, Hilton status, no matter how watered down it is becoming because a lot of people have it. It still helps out TSA PreCheck, which is a lifesaver Global Entry, which is awesome, which is a really big lifesaver coming back into the country. So that's the Amex Platinum Card or you're. Somebody who travels a lot, who does Boober, who can take advantage of the sacs credits, pretty much without really forcing yourself to do so, but you already kind of do this.

If you are a big traveler, then this makes sense for you, especially if you're an airport junkie, a hotel junkie like and you're always in hotels. This makes sense for you and the $ 550. You can definitely maximize for now. If you're somebody who is more, I need two points.

I want to rack up the points more. The MX platinum only gives you five points per dollar. When you book the rep you through the airline or Amex travel, comm, typically sometimes IMX travedoc are a little more expensive. So I like to do it on an airline website by themselves, but if you're, somebody who maybe doesn't really care about that you care about food and restaurants and things of that nature - and you want to get more membership reward points.
They don't really about too much travel. You may not travel that much I mean I must be. It may not be in the budget right now, things of that nature and then Amex go car for you all the way the annual fee is pretty much cut. In half you're still getting Amex top notch service, you're getting a bunch of value with the airline credit.

So you may travel a little bit, maybe here and there maybe once a year, maybe twice a year, then you can definitely take care of the baggage fees and you know flag refreshments with $ 200 credit, so you can definitely take advantage of it. So if that's who you are, if you're a big restaurant and grocery store person or have a big family, and you can definitely spend twenty five thousand a year, a grocery stores or supermarkets definitely going to be in scorecard so which one are you at? That's my question for you, which one are you again guys? I just realized that these have they have some increased signup bonuses right now and I'm not sure if I'm in incognito, but what I would suggest for you guys to do apply for these cards. If you decide to do so under my referral link, because you will get that increase, signup bonus so again, the gold card is giving me a 50k right now for the same spend. I think it normally gives you a 30,000 or 40,000 MRP and the platinum cards giving you 75,000 for the same spend 5,000 in the first three months.

That's more to do, but you get more points right, so apply for any of the cards with the referral link. If you decide to, let me know which one is best for you, though, if it comes down to me, which one am I better off with I'm personally better off with the Platinum Card solely because I'm a big traveler, I travel more than five six seven. Eight times a year, so I definitely get a lot of value out of it, but it was really hard for me to choose, because I also love supermarkets and restaurants. So I have both and you can also be somebody who has both as well.

I'm a both person, but I had to pick and choose which we're not gon na live without. I can live without the gold card and get that elsewhere, maybe for less money, and I get a lot more value honestly with the Platinum Card. So that's my choice. Would sewers make sure you get this video a thumbs up? I know this is like a really big topic.

It makes gold versus Amex platinum. This versus that. Let me know what video you want to see me do next, as far as which car versus which car so maybe like the platinum card versus a sapphire Reserve card, the Sapphire Preferred car versus a sapphire Reserve card. Let me know what you want to see again.

Give me a thumbs up we're doing two videos a week now, because this is what you want it and I'm giving it to you. So thanks so much have a good day.

I currently have both cards. I get quite a use out of both. But I don’t need both so this year before they bump up my annual fee to 250 on my gold card in September I’m going to cancel the card. I love all the lounge is that come with the platinum card as well as I’ve used fine hotels multiple times.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Debt To Dollars says:

Gold card: travels by air 1-3x a year, spend 15-20% of income at restaurants and supermarkets
Platinum card: travels by air +3x a year, frequently uses Uber, seeking luxurious travel perks (lounges, hotel status, etc.)

I was offered both. I chose gold. I spend a lot more on food. Rarely travel.

Fuck the benefits I want the card Bc it looks good

So I have a question, I applied for the gold card like a month before they revamped it and my credit card agreement still said $195 annual fee, even when I requested the new metal card. Is my annual fee going to be 195 or 250? I wasn't charged for the annual fee in year 1 so I was just curious since my annual fee should be coming up in September, thanks!

I definitely a Amex blue cash preferred kind of guy; Amex charge cards looks good, but not my cup of tea or current lifestyle.

Walt another one I would like to see but my not be someone you need you as you don’t fit this mold.

I would certainly love to have Vloggers in this space just do a video where they keep it real with their audience.

Dustin over at Waller’s Wallet does alright but but just don’t tell the whole truth.

It really grinds my gears when these guys post videos saying how all of the points will take you on these magical rides to paradise.

While some of what they say are true what they ALWAYS leave out is the part that just because you have points doesn’t mean you can go wherever and whenever you want.

Nothing worse than someone finally scoring the elusive 100k platinum offer from Amex with the hopes of taking their family of 4 to Hawaii in July only to find that they can hardly get themselves to Hawaii in First Class with points…during peak or off peak season.

Points are awesome and we all benefit from them I just wish that someone would tell the truth that you HAVE to be flexible and points will only get you so far.

Sure everyone needs to do their due diligence but it would help if these Vloggers would actually appreciate their audience who is using their referral links and provide the full picture.

Some of the guys are nothing short of a fast food commercial where your burger never looks like the TV version when you get it.

What’s the hard about telling the entire story boggles my mind. Hell, points are beneficial even with all the rules and flexibility that surrounds them.

If they’re going to ask their audience to use their referral link then the least they could do is to tell the entire truth.

Thanks man for always doing your part to tell it like it is even when it does against what you personally want or think. Others don’t have the integrity to do the right thing.

I have both but I am trying to switch my platinum to CSR, bcs I am traveling once or twice a year

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 2808 Heavy says:

I don’t know if one is better than the other as they shine is very different ways. One is a card that centers around food be it dining or cooking at home and the other is travel.

I think they can compliment each other for the right person. I think the CSR accomplishes both in one card rather than having the annual fee of 2. At a slightly less point offering but much better travel protection. I’ll give a hat tip to the CSR for the extra points when using their travel portal. The CSR pairs well with other Chase cards that have no annual fee, they have Hyatt and Southwest as transfer partners which can be huge for some and primary car rental which is expensive if you have to buy it from a rental agency.

I had the PRG some time ago for the points and don’t have the Platinum. They are again decent in their own right but I don’t like being forced to do certain things to get the maximum value.

I don’t regularly eat at Shake Shack, The Cheesecake Factory, and I don’t care for the fees for associated with the Uber Eats or Grubhub.

I have never regularly shopped at Saks and don’t want to start to justify the benefit. I would be just like yourself Walt, I would have to remind myself to use the credit…which lends to the fact that my spending isn’t organic as I’d only be shopping there because of the credit. Should that credit had been Macy’s, Dillard’s, or Nordstrom I’d be all over it and would never have to remember to use it because I shop at those places enough even without an incentive.

To answer your last question. I would love to see you do an UNBIASED (LOL!) video comparing the Platinum to the CSR or Platinum to the Prestige even with it’s stripped benefits. Heck, if time allows compare all 3 in one video.

I think a video like that would be REALLY informative and would certainly garner a lot of fun and interesting discussion amongst your audience.

Thanks for always providing good content my friend and as I always say, I’ll be here on the other side of the screen supporting you all the way.

AmEx is on some slick 💩 They've configured them so that you actually need BOTH cards to maximize the benefits! 💳
