Been at this for years, the stockmarket isn't one directional, It's up and down. I play both sides simultaneously and profit regardless of the direction of the stockmarket day to day. I invest in shares and trade with options. You try keeping up with that style of play and see how well you do against me. Why do you think NASDAQ is down like it is and has been for awhile now well it's because I'm a serious adversary and it takes all that plus platform collaboration to hold their own against me.

more demand on the popular stocks drives their prices up.
keep in mind most retail investors have no idea how to value a stock and how to tell if its over or underpriced, for them they just wanna have a piece of the bull run. like they do in any other traded good..
They dont understand what it means to invest.. they trade.. and it doesnt take more than 2 idiots to keep bidding the price up thinking they are profiting.. and there are millions like that, who just wanna trade today to see profits tomorrow. so yes retail investors are causing this for sure.
ok you can argue about the stimulus and the pandemic and what not. but it doesnt change the fact that the real reason behind this is the lack of understanding of the basics of stock investing. so education is the problem not the fed reserve.
if the average person keeps being that ignorant to the basics, the stock market will stay in its volatile form. either education or regulation to whom is allowed to personally trade in the stock market needs to be pushed forward before its too late.
also you can argue that in that sense retail investors are just unsophisticated day traders..
and the ratio of the traders to investors will ultimately determine the volatility of the stock.
Regarding PLTR… How many companies feel compelled to announce every single new contract and contract extension? Seems like a bit of desperation to kick save the stock price. Gonna just sit and watch this one. .
I feel like payment for order flow is better for the retail trader/investor anyway. The theoretical problem would be that payment for order flow results in market makers getting a fraction of a percent better deals and investors getting a fraction of a percent worse deals, but even if that's true, it's going to end up being a bargain for the person making trades in the hundreds of dollars or single-digit thousands of dollars. If you're regularly making trades in the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars then maybe you're getting a worse deal than paying a commission and having your broker look out for you a little more. Maybe.
I've been saving for a while, so I can invest in stocks, came across a success story of an investors that made up to $700,000 in few months from investing just $250K and I'd really appreciate it if I could get clues and pointers on how to make better profit.
We never had a stock market crash because of some report analysis and whatever someone thought at the fed or whatever instance, we see inflation coming, we know about meme stocks, we know interest rates will rise. A crash always comes from a corner we didn't expect, housing bubble, pandemic, fake internet companies riding the dot Com hype, people believibg the market can't crash and go crazy on margins. I mean a fed report never did more than a bump
That's so disgusting and shady. 🤢😡 Hate how they do that. That's why people get conspiratorial, I know lots of people that say they never invest, "because it's all manipulated anyways".
It's a shame, because sometimes they're right. Leo Cooperman and others are also constantly for more regulation on retail trading. 🤦🏽♂️ They cause the mess then blame us. 🤬 Corrections ALWAYS happen. Only thing is, THEY mitigate the damage the way they want, (to an extent), gain more market share and make it harder for the little guy. By attacking good companies with shorts and having influence on future regulating. IMO.

On payment for O.F.: If you're not paying for a service, you are the product. My economics teacher put it like this: "Have you ever seen a potato complain about being sold as a potato?" I do believe in paying commision and brokeragefees myself, as it makes me the client instead of the product.
