With many traditional car manufacturers attempting to enter the EV industry, the legacy automakers are copying Tesla in order to help them accelerate their transition to electric vehicles. In this video, I discuss what evidence points towards the fact that legacy automakers are copying Tesla.

When Tesla first reviewed the original roadster in October 2007, many traditional car manufacturers laughed it off inventing themselves that electric vehicles would never become a reality. However, as Tesla continued to release more and more affordable EVs, the legacy automakers began to recognize electric vehicles as a feasible method of transportation. Ladies and gentlemen, mr. Elon, it is time to deliver model s.

Yes, as the Eevee transition continues to accelerate more and more traditional car manufacturers are following Elon Musk's footsteps in wild competition in the Eevee space, the remains as a joke. It's important to understand that competition is healthy for Tesla. Competition keeps Elon Musk and pass laws team working at a fast pace. Tesla is famous for the large supercharging network that spans all across the u.s.

many legacy automakers are beginning to launch their own version of this network with some having quite unappealing names. For example, just three weeks ago, Ford released the Ford faster charge in that really is faster charges: logo, with the ancient writing of the capital F and a two-prong household plug attached to the F. Nonetheless, the automaker is extremely proud of faster charge and even trademarked idea in late 2019 Lincoln, which is owned by Ford leased, the prototype of his charger, which looks incredibly similar to Tesla's charging Network. Four days ago, Michael Steiner, the head of Porsches research and development also announced the launch of Porsches charging network called the turbo charger.

General Motors also announced that they are building a charging network across the u.s. in urban areas. Other automakers creating a charging Network include Nissan BMW, mercedes-benz, Cody and Nicole emoto's in the age of the current pandemic. It's clearly an advantage for automakers to have an online ordering process.

The idea of the online ordering process first started when Tesla's team realized that they were barred from opening dealerships across the u.s.. However, although it may have seemed like an issue back, then the legal trouble has benefited Tesla in many ways. I'm sure most of us can agree that going to a car dealership is similar to going to a dentist unlike shopping at the mall. Purchasing a vehicle at a car dealership is simply not something people can find joy in since then many legacy automakers have attempted to simultaneously have an online ordering system while still running dealerships.

This has slowed the transition to online ordering by a large amount. After all, who would want to buy a vehicle at the MSRP price, while others are purchasing it for a much cheaper price? Some automakers to have launched an online delivery system include General Motors V, a Chrysler Ford and Toyota. Nonetheless, I'm sure most of you didn't know that these legacy car manufacturers even had online delivery systems. Most vehicles made by traditional car manufacturers have knobs that control the different settings in the vehicle.
Some manufacturers have digitized half of the car settings using a small screen while leaving the other half two buttons and knobs. However, we're beginning to see legacy automakers digitalized the entire system, similar to how Tesla's have been for many years, for example, the Ford Mustang Mach II. An electric SUV that will supposedly be released in early 2021 will have an infotainment system with the screen knob at the bottom of the screen. Volvo, which is owned by Ford, will release the Polestar tooth with an extremely similar infotainment screen to Tesla's.

Along with Ford, Volkswagen is also attempting that digitalized the entire system, with the MK 8 VW Golf GTI in the Volkswagen id3, however, Volkswagens id3, which is a compact electric vehicle, has had its release delay due to Inc our software issues, which just manifests how the car Manufacturer wasn't able to catch on that. The infotainment building process requires plenty of skilled software engineers. The term gigafactory, which was invented by Elon Musk in November 2013, refers to a factory that manufacturers batteries the term Giga comes from gigawatt as Tesla's Giga factory. One has a projected annual output of 50 gigawatts in order to produce electric vehicles at a high volume.

It's important to be able to manufacture your own batteries in Tesla's early stages. The company had to rely on Panasonic to manufacture batteries for them after Tesla continued to ramp up their own battery production for a long period of time. It was announced in March 2020 that Panasonic would officially be shutting down all operations in Tesla's gigafactory 1. Many legacy automakers are starting to ramp up their own version of the Giga factory.

For example, Volkswagen recently converted its Germany factories recall to plant our solely focused on producing the id3. Along with this recall, Factory, Volkswagen also plans to it's, Dresden, Germany, Factory, two Chinese factories and one u.s. factory in Tennessee in two factories manufacturing purely electric vehicles. General Motors also plans to create its own Giga factory that will produce 30 gigawatts annually.

I haven't seen any of these FastorChargers, I haven't even heard of them in the 9 months and it's been since this video released.

Tesla and the other startups are going to eat these automakers over the next 10 years.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mr. Hawk says:

Well tesla did open some patents and is open to author automakers for the supply of the battries and the autopilot licensing not joking but it could be old and elon moved on and he aint doing it anymore

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ChipZilla69 says:

Having different charging networks for each manufacturer helps no one. You don't use different plug sockets for all your kitchen appliances do you. This shit needs to be standardised.

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bruno Smith says:

Ford just canned EV Lincolns (and may also do so with the Mach-E)… so their charging network would be used for… ? what?

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hyperion says:

Who else want to see "Nikola motors" and "Tesla" team up just so that the name is complete?

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars rocketboy50 says:

Ironically Ford sued Tesla to stop them from using E for the name of what became the model 3.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RJ 8U says:

Ford is pretty pathetic on copy Tesla 😆. They even decided to held their Mach E next door to Tesla design studio just to get media attention 🙉. Tesla should sue Ford for copying the Supercharger design given Ford basicly block Tesla for using the model E name for the Tesla Model 3. Ford will go bankrupt and with be in deep trouble with the recession impending.

Really the automakers came to realize that electric cars where feeaseble, Don be naive they new it, they where deleting it.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars T. Hsu says:

Battery capacity is measured in gigawatt-hours , not gigawatts. Volvo's parent company, others already mentioned.

Sorry, for an informational video, you really should get your details correct!

why doesn't the cord for lincoln stay inside the terminal? Tesla doesn't let their cord flop out like that.

17 years and not one profitable year. Up to 7,500k in subsidies for rich kid toys
Ford at least knew low cost common mans vehicle was the key to mass production (which the World copied)

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Von Hessing says:

Innovating = copying and doing it better. You should copy good ideas. Everyone is copying everyone. Even Tesla is copying and improving.

They fed tesla as a cub thinking it was a house cat but now it has grown into a tiger and they have to fight it.

    Idk how cringy is that?

i dnt get why some EVs are designed with alot of/or holes infront link its a combustion type vehicle

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Fujio B says:

Ford does not own Volvo. They did in the past but sold it in 1999. Since 2010 it has been owned by the Geely Holding Group.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nick Edinburgh says:

"Volvo which is owned by Ford". This ridiculous statement says it all about your expertise in the car world!

why only in US? the rest of the world doesn't matter. Plus do we need an adapter for different chargers?

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Cosmodian Sagansfire says:

It looks like the copying is going to be too late. They NEED a battery factory for cost savings.

Rome only beat Carthage by copying their tech. Sad but true, and no one thought they could be ousted from the Med and took over. Hope Elon doesnt need a Hannibal moment!

Wait. What? Panasonic announced they were shutting down operations in Nevada because of COViD. Aren’t they reopening soon? They announced they were shuttering their photovoltaic plant in the Buffalo GF, but that doesn’t make batteries for Tesla—in fact it competes with Tesla’s solar roof tiles.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RawAbility21 says:

Aye yo Elon. Not that your worried about these motha fuckas but I gotta just put this out there. Your competition reminds me of cheap asss copy cat generic products. Your the iPhone of electric vehicles and these bitches are Motorola’s

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MVRDAMONXY says:

So i guess tesla copied other car manufacture because he made an electric can look like it had a gasoline engine the lincoln re charge center is literally their logo.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stanley Cius says:

Tesla should be looking proud right now, their plan seems to be working smoothly and also I'm sure they don't mind other automakers copying their their ideas

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Diggleda says:

Tesla wants them to copy. That is why they open source their patents. It creates competition, promotes innovation and most importantly, converts our reliance on fossil fuels to electric.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars rick dees says:

When I rarely happened to go into a car dealership all I could think of is how they spent the money from other people they conned trying to impress the next gullible mark into buying a car that will be 10% to 20% less the instant they signed the papers and drove away. That told me how little what I might buy was really over priced. Why do people buy something that actually worth less than you payed?

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars blastum says:

Panasonic shut down the gigafactory due to the corona thing. It was temporary. It was not due to Tesla starting its own production!
