With Tesla's battery day constantly being delayed, we're left with a question: why is Elon Musk delaying battery day? In this video, I discuss why I believe Elon Musk is delaying battery day.

You own musk, originally scheduled Tesla's battery investor day for April of 2020. However, that date was delayed to May and once made came around Tesla's battery day was delayed to June. Now, a few days ago, Tesla's battery day was delayed until July, with no clear sign of when Tesla's battery day will be. We are left with a looming question.

Why is Tesla delaying its battery day in this video? I'm gon na lay out the evidence and explain the reasoning as to why I believe Tesla's battery day is being delayed if you're new to the channel. Please consider subscribing for more content like this and let's get right into it a couple months ago. You almost hinted at an upcoming terror factory, with Terra standing for terawatt our a unit that is a thousand times larger than the unit gigawatt hour. While a1 seemed clear that Tesla was set on Texas for its upcoming Terra Factory.

You own mosque has repeatedly made it clear that Tesla has not decided on a location for its upcoming factory. However, contrary to his statements, the truth is that, while Tesla is already set on Texas, the company is still attempting to negotiate a deal in May of 2021 source, told electric. That Tesla has already chosen Austin Texas for its new factory and that it was going to happen quickly. The source said that musk already tossed an engineering team working at Giga factory in Nevada to work at the new factory after electric posted an article about this three publications reported from a single anonymous source.

That Tesla was in talks with both Austin and Tulsa for the location of the new factory. This was a clear sign from Elon Musk, two electric, that's telling them hey we're still negotiating, and if you tell everyone were already set on Texas, we won't be able to get a good deal before this electric article was written. Elon Musk also accidentally leaked. That Tesla was set to build its new factory in Texas in its quarterly conference.

Call in Tesla's q1 2020 conference call Elon Musk stated that Tesla's battery day would either be in Fremont or Texas. Tesla already has a factory in Fremont and with Elon Musk having a fight with Alameda County. It's quite obvious that he wouldn't build a new factory in Fremont. Tesla has a pilot production line in three months that will manufacture its new battery, but outside of that there isn't much going on there as a result, the only option left is that Tesla will build its new factory in Texas, while Tesla may be set on Texas.

The fact is that Tesla and Texas are still negotiating a deal. This was shown when Elon Musk stated a few days ago that battery day would likely be in Fremont. Not Texas, musk did not say this, because battery day would actually be in Fremont. Rather, this was a way to make it seem like Tesla, isn't sat on Texas for its new factory.

If you own, musk, openly stated that Tesla was going to build its new factory in Texas, then Texas would knowingly give Tesla an underwhelming incentive package now until the deal with Texas is settled, Tesla won't be able to host its battery day as Tesla's upcoming factory is Key to Tesla's plan, the manufacturer is owned. Batteries, Peter Thiel, a man who worked with Elon Musk on PayPal, explained that when a company begins to enter the production of a new product, it's important to start with a smaller market and expand from there. This is because it takes time to scale up and Tesla can't just automatically put its battery production line in every single Giga factory eyes. First, it must produce the battery production lines required for one factory and then continue to move on to others.
This is a process that takes months, if not years, to execute on Tesla recently signed a deal with Panasonic for Giga factory Nevada. That will last three years. Those three years will be the time that it takes for Tesla to set up all of its battery production lines in his Texas factory. Once Tesla is done, manufacturing the production lines for this Texas factory, then musk will be ready to move on to Giga factory Nevada.

You might be wondering if Tesla is delaying battery day because of the Texas deal, then why is Elon Musk not telling us? The reason why must doesn't want to say this in public is because it would give the Texas government the impression that they have the advantage when it comes to negotiating Elon. Musk is known for putting out optimistic deadlines and with Tesla's battery day. This is no different. Elon has underestimated the time that it takes to negotiate with Texas and we're seeing the effects of that with the delay of Tesla's battery investor day.

Rumors are that Tesla is looking to build a new factory in the UK, with many citing that musk went to visit the UK in early June. Local reports also stated that Tesla was looking to build an electric vehicle research, development and manufacturing plant because of the fact that the UK government wants to boost the economy after the pandemic, Elon Musk may be able to land a humongous incentive package to build a Giga Factory Tesla also recently filed to become an electric utility in the UK, hinting at the fact that tassel looks to expand its solar business into the UK. Securing a deal with both the UK and Texas will be essential for musk to unveil his battery manufacturing plan and Tesla's battery investor day will likely continue being delayed until these deals are completed. In the mean time, I believe we should all stay patient, because, while delaying the battery day may be frustrating, it will ultimately be beneficial for Tesla in the long run.

Canโ€™t wait for the factory over here in the uk. I want a cyber truck sooooooooo badly ๐Ÿคž Texas seem to be cutting their nose off despite their face ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Idiots. Tesla factoryโ€™s need to be in every country.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars joscaca says:

The factory in Texas has nothing to do with Fremont.
It simply has to do with geographical footprint and the logistic of delivering to other parts of the country.

I love this stuff…….. watching all these sheep wait for battery day! And they donโ€™t even know they are the batteries!

The anticipation of battery day keeps the stock above the level musk needs for his stock options to vest( they have to remain above a certain market cap for a certain amount of months )

Texas has a law: New vehicles are sold through Dealerships only" The big 3 Truck companies,
will "grease" all legislation to prevent the Tesla direct to consumer model. Possible video suggestion on this subject, please.
Would Elon still build the Cybertruck factory in Texas if
this "good ol' boy" moronic, archaic, law still exists?

No large crowds are allow in California right now, he wants a live in person Reveal canโ€™t do it under the current rules set by the

Elon is a very smart man. I own a Mode 3 and know Elon will always delay for a reason. Believe me Elon knows how to play the give and take game. Saying anything ruins your chances for receiving the great deal.
    Awesome video. ๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰

Battery day will be historic. This is when the average person will understand that their next car should be electric. He wants the big show. He wants people to be able to see and hear in person.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Savage fox says:

they're delaying it cuz of the stupid virus there is no other reason

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Urgelt says:

Fremont makes sense for Battery Day regardless of how negotiations with Texas might go. That's where the pilot Roadrunner line has been reported to be and where they are hiring battery-oriented engineers. That's where they will have something to show to investors and journalists.

But they may end up needing to hold the event online. COVID-19 won't be finished with us in September.

It is not impossible that Elon will end negotiations with Texas and take the Cybertruck GF somewhere else. I'm sure he would like Texas to end its ban on direct automobile sales to consumers, and see Texas offer incentives to consumers for purchasing BEVs (they currently have none), as well as an incentives package beyond a billion dollars in worth to Tesla in exchange for a 10,000 worker factory and many more billions in investment from Tesla. If Texas does not act sufficiently welcoming towards Tesla, I don't expect Elon to build a GF in Austin.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TurboPestZ says:

I don't think it has much to do with texas. I think it has more to do with having the new batteries ready to be produced. If you knew in 3 months you could get a better battery, would you buy a tesla or wait. So when you announce a new breakthrough, it has to be ready to go otherwise you drop demand. Or the breakthough will have to be said to be 5 years out which isn't the case here.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ygg drasil says:

To be honest, they can take as long as they like. As long as they are actually making new higher spec batteries, whether they have a battery day or not is largely irrelevant. The proof will be in the pudding – the cars themselves – not in any media event.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars clavo says:

Tesla's battery day delay is frustrating small single account day job investors who cannot navigate the ups and downs of the stock value. It's great for those who can afford to hedge; but it's killing the small guy.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Understanding says:

They wants to have enough new batteries for the Plaid before battery day

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Fred Fotis says:

CATL announcing the million mile battery before Tesla is a Red Flag. Let's not make light of the situation, the MM battery is the disruption that will end the combustion engine, even lawn mowers will be battery powered.
Could there be a political agenda behind the delay?

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Greg Helton says:

Uk doesnโ€™t make sense as they are no longer part of the EU.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gordon Tyler says:

I applaud your effort and hard work on your many videos, but you actually missed the main reason here… They cannot show a new battery technology now and say "These awesome new batteries will be available in our vehicles in two to three months" because nearly all undelivered orders would be canceled and sales would approach zero until the new vehicles were available. Instead, they will show the new batteries in September and say something like "All Model 3 and Y vehicles made in the last two weeks have these awesome new batteries and actually have 5% more range than advertised" . Then watch everyone that has been on the fence pull the trigger on their orders. Have you thought about starting a channel on Discord? I think many of your subscribers would love to chat with you – I know I would.

Iโ€™m not sure why some people are at odds with this video.
He said, โ€œIโ€™m going to…explain the reasoning as to why I think Teslaโ€™s battery day is being delayed.โ€
And he did. So? Itโ€™s a speculative editorial, not a conclusive report.

You got it right! It is all about the negotiations and keeping potential regional authorities hungry for the potential to land a Tesla facility. I have personally done this for another company. It is a bit of an art, so to the average person it looks a bit strange. Time is a great leveraging tool when there is a strong desire to obtain a valuable and long time deal for a local government. The thought of losing such an enormous opportunity would be devastating for politicians.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Matt Senkow says:

Just the announcement of a battery day puts pressure and can be used as leverage with making deals with the existing battery manufacturers.
We've heard of a couple, maybe we'll hear of a couple more.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Speedytrip says:

That…or he's delaying it cause they want to announce a battery that will have a range of 5000 miles on a 5 minute charge ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Israel Ramos says:

Some have speculated that news of an upcoming battery could hurt sales today as people wait for the better battery for their cars.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Christopher Kalafatis says:

Fair reasoning. Is September 15 official for Fremont or still no location though? Also I think they want to make this event pretty badass. I'm not sure what the pandemic is preventing in terms of crowd size in events like this and the timing of it all also.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Casgains Academy says:

Update: Teslaโ€™s Battery Day has been delayed to September 15th and will feature a battery production tour.
