Thomas Peterffy, founder of Interactive Brokers, believes that Citadel and Virtu would just buy robinhood/Charles Schwab/TD ameritrade/E* Trade if the SEC outlawed the use of PFOF (payment for order flow).
Effectively it would be the same as JP Morgan's sales department communicating internally with the trading department.
PFOF has been around in some form for over 200 years.
This is why we need the SEC to focus on the abuse in the dark pools.

The transition away from brokerages that get PfOF is happening, this only came out in DD a while back. Everyone is getting more clued up about how to operate, it will take time. Stay cool.
one of the questions when signing up to a broker account is if youre related to someone in the market… i wonder why they ask that. hmmm.. idc if PFOF was around when jesus was around… that shit is bs. Especially when youre doing illegal conflict of interest activities to manipulate the market. All of these fake ass interviews between two people in the industry is straight bs to diluted the truth. Wallstreet is rigged against the retail investor. After the AMC play is over I'm out. Unless the system is completely overhauled, and not just meaningless rules changed, I see retail investors continuing to be playing on a slanted field. The retail investor is prey in the current market and meaningful changes are needed. I would be a fool to take any gains from AMC and put back into the market under the current corrupt market!
I mentioned in the past, "The SEC is not going to do anything." Very Powerful people are calling in favors and telling the SEC, they will pay the fines (which never really hurt the companies). Congress is blowing smoke! Congress may do something once the AMC situation ends, but until the apes win or lose, Congress is not going to do anything! You don't bite the hand that pumps money into your campaign.

SEC has focused on the nitty gritty problem. Dark pool is the real problem. All illegal trades start there.
Here's the problem I see. We're asking a conservative older man about how to change the future. If you want to make change, ask the younger generation how to better use technology. I'm by no means the "younger generation", but here's my take. Get rid of Market Makers in favor of a centralized blockchain system. Problem solved. You'll have a traceable way to abolish corruption, and instant stats. No more T-2, T-35, etc.

They could shut down the dark pool access! There is a huge conflict of interest allowing HF . Large orders can be processed separately at the exchange
