What's up you guys, sasha here, whether you're, just starting out on your journey of stocks and shares or if you're, an experienced investor etoro, is a really exciting platform that is unique in that it is available in 140 countries all over the world, including the us united Kingdom across europe, australia and a lot of other places as well in this video i'll, give you a full introduction to etoro i'll. Tell you about the platform about the product features and i'll. Show you exactly what it looks like to go and start up and set up your account for the first time, because i'm going to go and do it live during the course of this video. I will then go and make a deposit i'll go and buy some shares just so you can understand exactly how the platform works, what it feels like and whether you want to go and give it a try just so you know this is not the full review.

A full review will be coming in a few videos time. This is more of an introduction. This is more of a getting started with etoro type of thing. So if that sounds interesting, let's dive right in but before we do, i am not a financial advisor.

I can't provide financial advice to you and if you do need financial advice, please make sure you go and seek the help of a suitably qualified professional. Now that those are out the way. Let me tell you about some of the key features and key characteristics of the etoro platform. Just before we get into the details, it's really important to remember that etoro is sort of like a mix of three different accounts in one with some of the other platforms.

They sometimes keep these separate and you have a separate, investing account separate in some cases, cryptocurrency account and a separate account for trading cfds and such like, with etoro they're, all kind of blended into one. It is one account that allows you to go and do general investment so buying and selling stocks and shares etfs and other types of things like that. But you can also go and trade cfds within exactly the same platform and go and buy and sell cryptocurrency. I'm gon na be talking about the general investing functionality of etoro in this video because i don't really advise most people, especially when they're first starting out, especially if they're, not professionals.

If they don't know what they're doing to go and try out cfd trading. And i would say much of the same words about cryptocurrency as well, so for the purpose of this video, i'm gon na be talking about general investment. Only i'll point out a few bits where the other ones sort of are part of the tool. Just to point out where maybe you can accidentally make a few mistakes or maybe just something that you should know when you are using etoro first off, let's talk about the fees because that's really important when you're choosing a platform, how expensive is it going to be, And etoro is actually pretty good.

Etoro doesn't charge any kind of commission for the trade, so there's no trade fees, there's no account management fees, there's no monthly fees, there's no any of those kind of fees that some of the old-school platforms have, in fact for regular everyday. Day-To-Day use you're only going to be paying one kind of fee for normal investing, which is the kind of stuff that i like doing, and that is you have to pay a conversion fee when you're loading your account with money when that money is not in dollars. So, for example, if you're based in uk, like me, you'll have to pay a 50 pips, so that's 0.5 fee in order to load your money onto etoro from your bank account or from your card or whatever other payment process that you want to use. You can save a bit of money by using some other platform, for example with transferwise.
You might be able to pay only about 0.42 and maybe with revolute. You can save the whole lot or whatever, but because most people probably won't be doing that i'll. Just go down and do the exact process that most people will follow so that you can see what it looks like and how it works. Remember, though, that you will still have to pay the conversion fee again when you're actually drawing the money back.

So that means, if you go and take money from your bank, account, stick it into etoro and then draw it back to your bank. Account you're already going to be one percent down. So if you're planning any kind of short-term investments - and you don't have a free way of loading dollars into etoro, this is probably not going gon na. Be the right thing for you.

Maybe you will maybe it's still better than others, but i don't really care about that. I invest for the long term and the 9.5 for loading and then for withdrawing. In my opinion, it's not a big deal and i'll come to a few benefits that this platform actually has where it's cheaper than alternatives like free trade and trading 202 in the uk. But let's get to that in just a second, the only other fee.

I need to mention is a 10 inactivity fee which you get charged? If you stop logging into your account - and you don't log in for 12 months in a row, so make sure you don't do that, make sure if you do want to enclose that account down and not use it, you actually get your money out and you close The account down there are a lot of other fees associated with all kinds of cfd trading. Cryptocurrency there's spreads, there's various overnight fees and a bunch of other stuff, but i'm not gon na go into them, because that is not what this video is gon na. Be about that is not what i'm trying to explain to you. So if you're interested in that side of things, you'll need to go and do your own homework as to exactly what all those costs are.

We're gon na focus on the good old, investing side really important point before we begin setting up, the account is etoro is fully authorized and regulated by various different jurisdictions in different countries. In the uk they're authorized by the financial conduct authority they're also authorized in the us in australia in a bunch of other countries as well. Wherever you are go and check, if you're interested, the likelihood is probably going to be regulated in the proper way, wherever it is that you are so to get started tutorial, you can go and use the link in the description below you go and click on it. Unfortunately, unlike free trade and trading 212, they don't offer free shares and if you click my link, i will get a bit of commission for referring you their way.
But if you're interested in trying them out, you don't lose anything, it doesn't cost you anything. So if you do use that link, i'm very grateful. Thank you very much anyway. So next step is go and create an account.

Remember this is a message you're going to be seeing at the top of pretty much all of your screens up here. There is a message that tells you that cfds are a complex instrument. They come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage 67 of retail investor accounts lose money. When trading codes with this provider.

You should consider whether you understand how cfds work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. This is really important. If you do ever want to go into trading tfd's, you really need to understand what you're doing and i'm not going to be covering that in this video, but just so that you're aware, because in this platform, when you open an account, the cfd side is automatically Available to you all right, let's go and create an account so that you can see exactly how it works. Let's go and create an account.

We have to do is go and hit create and off we go. It says that i need to go and complete my profile in order to get started. I'm mail type in your name. The next thing you have to do is add your address.

So, let's see how well this works and as with all investment platforms, you have to go and add your national insurance number your trading experience. This is sort of a self-certification process where you are basically attesting to how well you understand investing, and this is really important, because some of the limits and some of the specific settings in your account might be said, based on what you answer here. So don't lie, it doesn't make any sense, it won't actually make it any better. For you give the exact correct answer to all these questions, and what do we got? Thank you for comparing your profile.

Please be aware. The trading cfd can carry a high degree of risk, see they keep telling you. This thing is good, it's what they should be doing confirm. Next, you have to type in your mobile number into this field.

Here you get a text message and you need to just type it into this window, hit verify profile dated, and now we can deposit funds. Let's do it. This is going to be exciting, so you can deposit funds using paypal, credit debit card online banking, rapid transfer. There's a million different options: let's go and try to deposit using a debit card and for the sake of just showing you how this works, i'm going to deposit exactly a thousand dollars into this account.
Now that we've typed everything in let's go and hit deposit done off, we go so now we have an account. We have a message in the top right says: we finish the verification process, which is very exciting, and you can see all these different prices jumping around over here buy sell values. I have a thousand dollars uh. I will be charged the transaction fee as part of the transaction, so let's go and do some investments so for the purpose of showing you exactly how this platform works, i'm gon na go make three slightly different investments so that you can see how slightly different types Of transactions work first, let's go and buy some tesla now i have it here on my watch list, but you can also go and type in at the top and you'll be able to find it over there as well, and this screen will give you a lot Of information, some people talking about it and stuff like that, but let's just go and buy a share so that we can see what it looks like here is the really important thing you can see on here that you can go and buy an asset and at The bottom over here it says you are buying an underlying asset.

This is what you want to see when you're making a regular investment with etoro. If you go and hit something like x2, this is what's gon na be leverage. In essence, this is where you can begin borrowing money that you are not investing. This is cfd trading and the moment you go and select it you'll see cfd trade at the bottom.

Higher leverage means higher risk. You don't want to go and accidentally do it. If you don't intend to trade cfds make sure you have things sat on x1 over here, so you can go and select the amount by selecting these arrows here or you can go and select units, and if you want to go for example, buy one share like I am doing in this process. I'm just going to go.

Select one share, i'm buying the underlying s asset. There is no leverage involved and i'm going to go and hit open trade and i'm just going to go and buy it, and essentially what the market rate is at this point, so you can see that i made this investment. I now have 875 dollars worth of tesla in my portfolio and i have another 125 dollars left. Next, let's go and buy uk stock.

Uk stocks are really really great in natori. For one reason, you can go: buy london stock to change listed stocks without having to pay the 0.5 stamp duty, which you do with pretty much every other platform. This is really critical because, although you had to pay money to load money onto the platform, you actually get to save money by investing in uk stocks. So if you want to go and invest in something like, for example, ocado over here, you can go and do so without having to pay that fee and here's.
The other thing that you're going to notice when you begin playing with etoro. If you used to have things like free trade or trading 212 work or hood or other things, there are minimum amounts, for example, with ocado. I can't go and buy just one share, because it will tell me that the minimum amount i have to invest is fifty dollars. If you go and hit that x, one number you can then begin selecting times two times five.

This is the point where you're going to be doing leverage - and i am not interested in doing that. I want to buy the actual two shares, so i'm going to set the order over here and because i am trading outside of opening hours of the london soccer change. You can see that the market here is closed and what this means is. The trade will actually execute tomorrow, but the beauty of it is whenever it does execute.

It will execute a lot of prices at the time and i won't have to pay the stamp duty. Next, let's go and buy some fiverr fiber is a company that i am particularly excited by and i want to show you how fractional shares work on etoro. So let's say i want to go and invest 70 into fiverr. If i go and just hit open trade, what i'm going to be able to do is buy approximately 0.3 units of fiber.

Not one share. You don't have to buy whole shares. You can buy fractional shares, just like you can with others, but the minimum amounts that you can buy are a bit higher, so i can go and hit open trade and again i'm gon na have my fiverr executed bang. I have bought 70 dollars worth so now.

I have 0.3 units of fiverr. It's really really simple. I actually had to cancel my previous uk share purchase in order to be able to buy the five or one, because i slightly miscalculated actually, while filming this video, the price of tesla went up. I actually expected to spend the full amount, but i didn't quite get there.

It is very colorful, it's a very nice platform. You can use it on your mobile. You can use it on your desktop. I am a really big fan and i think i'm going to be using this a lot more, especially for buying those uk shares, because it is really good for that, although it's still pretty good for some other things that i'm gon na get to in some subsequent Videos as well, if you're interested in trying it out, make sure you go hit the link in the description below and give it a go.

The minimum deposit is 200. So, as with everything here, you have to spend a little bit more with etoro, because it's just a platform that is a little bit more grown up in some ways than maybe some of the others. If you enjoy this video make sure you smash the like button future algorithm. Thank you so much for watching.

I really really appreciate it and i'll see you guys later.

Hey! I wanted to know if it is save to connect my revolut account with etoro (in order to get better conversion rates)? I am a little bit afraid to connect my revolut account instead of my normal current account as deposit account with etoro. Is there any risk involved? Is it save enough to carry big amounts of money on my revolut account.
Also, do you know if it is possible to connect two deposit accounts with my etoro account? So I could deposit money from my revolut account to etoro and when I withdraw the money from etoro I could transfer it to my normal current account at my bank?

    Thanks! Alice 🙂

Hi I live in the UK, I have recently opened up an etoro account. I'm waiting for my new bank card to arrive before I can deposit funds. I have passed the initial verification stage I'm at the stage where you can deposit funds. But I was just wondering if there are any more KYC/ know your customer, photo ID verification or can you literally just deposit your funds and start investing. As I have been trying to find a platform all day and had no luck untill now as they all require KYC photo ID to deposit funds. I currently don't have a passport as I lost mine recently. So does this platform require KYC.

Hi! Do you think there is any way I can change the information I put on my profile? I quickly opened an account and just tick boxes. So I think my account is more to professional? Maybe this is the reason I cannot trade without leverage? Help

    Hello.

How safe is the verification process?

A site asking for Passport, Proof of address and National Insurance number is harvesting a lot of data that could be potentially valuable if the right person hacked their database.

    Many thanks.
