So these other top five Habits of Highly Effective treaters that can help you build your trading discipline. We know that positive habits in the long run builds good discipline, which is key to your success as a trader. Oh, that's it and done. How exactly do you enforce that kind of strict regiment? Well, I'm a firm believer that the way you treat in a stock market is a reflection of who you are in real life.

So, that's why I think it's extremely important to have good daily habits outside of trading. I do find that when my life is a mess, my trading will likely be terrible as well. In order to trade effectively, I formulated five very strict daily habits for myself in real life. At first glance, none of these things are directly involved with trading or the markets, but they can definitely form a trickle-down effect and help you build a very solid foundation with trading discipline such as not chasing high of the day, breakouts, not adding to a loser and Definitely not forgetting to hit a light button at the bottom of this video.

First and foremost, I've been told by many people in my life that I have an extreme eye for enforcing and follow-through with details which, let's be real. It's just a very roundabout way of saying you and OCD bit I mean hey, you can call it OCD or detail oriented. It doesn't really matter. That's just how I need to live my life and function smoothly.

I need all my screens to line up calendars to be color-coded and all my socks to be in pairs. Okay, maybe the last one I can let it go. This probably was a habit that started forming in my own psyche in my former career as a VFX artist in the film industry, with all the hyper realistic renderings of CG animation, it's extremely important to make sure the tiniest things such as rust, scratches and all the Other textures and objects are well thought out and designed, so naturally, I'm the kind of person who plans everything one to two weeks before the event and have them all on my calendars, and I will do whatever I possibly can to keep them that way. Unless I have at least 48 hours of notice, I'm not gon na move anything a lot calendar in order to go to bag holder, might house party, I don't care if there's an open bar hot girls or hot guys and they're going and that conflicts with my Schedule: okay, but if there's free food - oh, I might consider it like.

I've often talked to other traders. Being OCD might not be great with your social life, but it helps so much as a trader. It's this kind of attention to detail that allows me to refrain myself from breaking concrete rules in my trading. Playbook here are just some of those rules.

I follow. Never sure tallow floats runner on day one, especially if that stock is easy to borrow, never average down and add to a loser. I always just take the loss and move on 90 % of the time I'm gon na be happy. I did that and if any of the stocks that pop up on a scanner has those criteria in the rules, I don't trade it a lot of times.
People will say: oh Shea, you missed a golden opportunity to make money, but my OCD mind would say: that's fine. Unless there's free food, I'm gon na, be happy. I didn't trade it. I must follow my own rules and wait for setups that match my detailed criteria.

Now the next habits that really helps with my trading discipline is having a regular workout routine and sticking to it even Joanna quarantine, as you may have learned from a day in the life of a day, trader video I regularly workout and my preferred form of fitness Is pole dancing but unfortunately all the gyms and studios have been closed for two months now and I haven't being able to do the same kind of workout, but that's no excuse for not keeping fit because you guys know I don't workout to look good. I workout. So hiking, oh and of course, working out also helps myself staying mentally fit to trade. So that's why I've been doing home workouts I especially enjoy Blogilates and YouTube, and I've been following almost all the workout plans since last month.

The keyword is almost. I find that keeping fit also strengthens your mind when trading, so you have fast response when you're trading earnings and news catalysts - and it's only with a strong mind, then you can have strong mental capacity to recover with losses. Yes, that's right. I still take losses and, of course, that makes me feel frustrated, but just like your body, recovering from a feeling of soreness after an intense workout session, a trained mind can recover quickly from those trading losses.

I think it's important to recover mentally first before financially and that's how you can prevent, from one day of loss, leading to a string of bigger losers and since one the topic of working out and staying healthy and just want you guys to know about this. 100 % successful day trader diet. That's right! It's true! There's! No DVD or secret trading strategy. They'll make you Lamborghinis, but the true secrets to day trading.

Isn't this proprietary humble trader diet, it's cold I'll, eat whatever I want? Okay, what to eat? I'm a true believer of enjoying food, but in a balanced way. Yeah, that's gon na be one more two days in a week: well eat some delicious Indomie and fried spring rolls and fried chicken. That's gon na cost. My face to break out like this inside note.

This is the only kind of break out they'll ever buy, but for the rest of the week, I'll eat, healthier and homemade meals, smoothies and greens to balance that now the third habit that has helped me tremendously as a trader embracing and learning from Solitude. I know you must be thinking that I must be an extrovert to have a YouTube channel and talk in front of the camera, but it's quite the opposite, I'm actually very introverted, and I'm that person who always goes to parties and barely talked unless someone wants to Talk about stocks, I prefer to talk less but listen and observe more. I believe, that's the reason. We have two eyes two ears and only one mouth.
I know it seems contradicting because I've been talking for an hour straight now in front of the camera, but the only reason I can appear talkative and excited right now in front of the video is because I spent a lot of time by myself. There's this general consensus in society that if a person is a loner, he or she must be weird. Well, I'm a loner and I'm perfectly happy this way. It's only because I've spent so much time by myself.

That has a time in peace to truly reflect on everything I've learned and observed in the markets on a daily basis, such as how to hit the like button to get better short locate when you're trading, I'm definitely not saying you need to be a loner and Shut everyone else out, but why I am saying is that it's worth allocating an hour or even just 13 minutes of your day to yourself a self-reflection at the end of the day after the markets closed all those charts and price action that you've seen with your Eyes visually need time to come, dense and formulate into useful information. In your mind, later on the fourth habit of a highly effective trader, it's gon na have sound pretty simple, but you'd be surprised how many day trading beginners don't do it. It's a simple act of being resourceful and taking responsibility for your own success in trading. Yes, that means doing your own due diligence on a stock before you buy or sell, perhaps digging up some SEC filings or even just quickly search it up on bimba's.

Most traders fail because thanks pack the answers and the easy money to be handed to them, I'm often very surprised by how little effort some people put into their own success, especially when their hard-earned money is involved. For example, I've made so many clear cuts tutorial videos how to set up trade ideas, scanner, how to set up think of swim for active day trading and many many others, and I share many of those settings and resources for free in the video description. But if I can spend all that time to put together the videos and the settings I'm sharing for free, I think it's pretty reasonable and simple for any new traders to just google how to load those settings into the softwares. How to put the script I provided into think a swim and other simple questions such as: what is a stock typing? A few words in a search engine only takes a few seconds, and it's really not that hard to do.

Oh, I'm saying is: everyone should be resourceful and take responsibility for their own success. You want to know what trading platform and what brokers I use and where to get my free weekend, watchlist. Well, it only takes a click of your mouse to expand the video description and find those answers and for some traders, that's just too much work. Those are probably the people who want signals and easy to trade alerts and start banking with zero effort, and if that's the amount of work they are willing to put into their own financial success.
Well, I can only say I respect that, but they're responsible for their own outcome. Us are first-generation immigrants and learned firsthand from my family how to be resourceful and take matters into our hands. When we first arrived in Canada, there were no Google search or YouTube videos on how to learn English: how to take the bus, how to get legal aid and how to file personal taxes in a completely foreign country. My family didn't sit there and complain that we couldn't understand anything.

We took action and learned to use the live community centers and improve our situation over the years. Slowly and it's from that experience, I learned that I'm, the only person responsible for myself and don't complain, don't expect anything to just be handed to me now. The fifth habit of an Highly Effective trader is learning to admit that you might not be right. All the time having humility is actually an extremely important trait as a trader.

There's been too many times in the past, where I'm in a trade and I'm thinking this stock has to go higher. It has to go my way, and I'm right and my stubborn, a singing ability to admit than wrong and should get out will often make small losers turn into Giants losses after being humbled by the market so many times. I finally learned that, yes, while I can plan for my trades and trade, my plan and never better than the market, the market is right all the time it's like Queen Bee. You just got ta respect her and that's why I've always preached that these videos are just my own opinions and not a guru and my opinions are not a hundred percent correct all the time.

I'm simply sharing my experience as a trader. Who's made a lot of mistakes in the past, but the market has taught me to cut my losers small when wrong and leave my winners on when right. So these are my top five habits outside of the market. That has really helped me improve my performance in trading being detail-oriented working out enjoying solitude, taking action and responsibility for my own success and finally having humility.

Let me know in the comment section: what are your other habits in real life that really helped with your trading performance in the markets? I love to find out. Thank you guys for watching us always and the humble trader and I'll see you guys next week Shh and tell anyone about this.

New to your channel. This is the second video I've seen so far. My first was your information on reading and applying use of the macd oscillator.
I've been studying and trading since July of last year. After all this time. I have now found the thing I want to do for a career… .
    Anyways… Enough rambling…. 🙄😁😉.
    Complimentary compliments:
Your videos are well made. The sound is good. The information you relay is articulated in an easy to understand way. I'm glad you don't put any fluff or random irrelevant information in the videos. I enjoy your DD. I can't wait to see more… And more … Lol.

This is just superb, I have been researching "how do i become a successful day trader?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried – Liyaylee Acclaimed Leverage – (do a search on google ) ? It is a smashing one of a kind product for discovering how to learning option trading cashflow secrets without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my mate got great results with it.

Do you ever see the captions to your videos?! It adds extra dialog that you definitely don't say or it changes "B**ch" to "Jerk"… same thing lol

Who else went to the fridge to grab something to eat when she mentioned food? (Pre-fridge scene w/ the sticky)

Thank you for sharing your experience and highlighting the pitfalls esp the need to be right. We tend to exhibit the Dunning–Kruger when we overestimate our ability. We tend to have an illusory superiority and don't recognize the lack of ability that the market is always right.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Potassium Chan says:

Hello, really like your video. great! Would you mind to state the full wording of that short name, e.g PM, HOD, OCD mind? And how you draw the line of PM? Thanks!!!

Good info thanks for sharing. BTW the going down the slide was classic!

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Red Art says:

trading needs flexibility and adaptability; OCD is an archenemy of day-trading. It makes one ponder and wonder whether you really trade for a living or just trade a 100 shares to satiate a hobby and generate content for yet another hobby?
Not everyone is cut for trading, so the notion that most traders just want sub services and alerts handed over to them instead of putting effort into it is just a fallacy. All the other routines mentioned in the vid are just ordinary routines done by anyone but thanks for the content and for at least trying

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sylvester TwoSocks says:

Kick those indicators to the curb and learn how to read and apply multiple time frame charts. Pole dancing optional. OCD = analysis paralysis? or are you saying OCD = discipline; Agree with that! Always applied KISS principle. (Keep It Simple Stupid); Price always return to test former break down / break out areas. (Learn where those are) i.e.: Time IS more important than price. Ps: I was surprised when you didn't shoot off that slide like a squeezed zit since you were in spandex pants. Pps: Yes, this is the one business where you learn how to loose (cut your losses – and then watch it reverse to your target) if you can't deal with that, ferget it! Go drive a truck. Google Humility; Well named author.
